INTRODUCTION

In my 20+ years of being a holistic doctor, real health educator, consumer
health advocate in print, radio & tv, and being part of a supplement formulation
team for 9 years, it always amazes me to see so-called “health” companies using
ingredients they know darn well are not “real” health ingredients, and in fact, in
many cases, using ingredients that are downright harmful and even banned in
other countries.

Fooling the often times desperate consumer with enticing marketing jargon like
“all natural,” attention-getting advertising slogans, exaggerated before and after
photos, or even paying that certain spokesperson with a knack for persuasion &
promoting gimmicks, these desperate ruses leave consumers feeling deceived
and finding the company completely untrustworthy.

That low price, may seem like a deal, but you may very well pay with your health,
as companies have been caught red-handed, for example, by the Attorney
General of New York in 2015, fraudulently using cheap fillers and other
ingredients that are not even listed on the label. Some companies have the gall
to use ingredients that are banned in other countries for safety reasons.

If you have been preyed upon in the past, perhaps even without your knowledge,
I’m here to tell you, there IS a way you can feel confident, proud AND attain
great health and you don’t have to be a rocket scientist, chemist or even a
nutritionist to do so.

INTRODUCTION

If you can simply learn and recognize just a few, basic ingredients on a label,
armed with that knowledge, I KNOW you can pick apart any health & beauty
product INSTANTLY, even if you don’t know all the other ingredients. So let
these RED FLAG ingredients you are about to learn lead the way for you!

It is my hope this Naughty List helps you jump-start YOUR journey to becoming
an educated consumer about REAL health and you can pass on the knowledge
to your friends and loved ones and perhaps even save a life.

Integrity matters. Ingredients matter.
So let’s get educated & choose your products wisely!

DAY 1 CYANOCOBALAMIN

Kicking off Day 1 of Santa’s Naughty List with the TRUTH about the CYANOcobalamin
form of B12 Here’s my take:

B12 is a necessary nutrient, as it protects our DNA and nourishes nerves and brain cells. It
supports our energy and helps boost immune systems. It also helps to build healthy red
blood cells. Studies show B12 aids in depression, macular degeneration & a host of other
health issues AND helps protect the life and development of baby in the womb! WOW!

The CYANOcobalamin form of B12 is the synthetic, inactive form of B12, NOT found in
nature. It is used in supplements because it is cheap. It is made via chemical synthesis
utilizing a Cyano= CYANIDE molecule (YES), which is toxic & needs to be detoxified by the
body. This form has low absorption, so higher doses are needed, but too much may cause
low blood potassium (hypokalemia).

It takes many steps to convert this form into the actual usable/active form:
METHLYcobalamin; the form found in nature. The process of conversion can deplete the
methyl in the body (counterproductive). Those with the MTHFR gene, cannot use the
CYANO form, as they do not have the enzyme needed for the "methylation" conversion.

Gut microbiome also need the METHYLcobalamin form in abundance & cannot use the
synthetic, CYANO form.

So, you can see, the proper, healthy form is very important! Check you labels NOW!

NAUGHTY- Cyanocobalamin

NICE- Methylcobalamin or Adenosylcobalamin

NICE- Food sources of B12: organ meats, beef, sardines, clams, wild-caught salmon,
tuna, feta cheese, eggs

DAY 2 SOY

Day 2 of the 12 Days of Santa’s Naughty List is the naughty ingredient, SOY.
Here’s my take:

The soy being used in products today is NOT healthy in any way, shape or form. It is slyly
marketed as “healthy ingredient, when in fact, the studies performed on soy in Asian
communities were performed on "fermented" soy; natto, miso, tempeh, NOT all the
heavily processed, GMO soy products seen today.

Take note, virtually all soy is GMO= genetically modified & heavily processed with the
carcinogenic solvent, hexane.
Soy contains high omega-6 & saponins, which makes it highly inflammatory to the body.
Soy can block thyroid conversion of T-4 to T-3. This is very BAD news for those with
hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism and Hashimotos thyroiditis.
Soy contains phytoestrogens that can mimic hormones and bind to estrogen receptors,
which can potentially increase your cancer risk and contribute to other unwanted
hormonal symptoms.
Soy can disrupt your intestinal border, by causing atrophy of the little finger-like villi that
line the intestinal wall and help you absorb nutrients.
Soy can also block the absorption of iodine and phytic acid can block minerals such as
zinc, magnesium, and calcium.
Soy has connections with infertility, allergies, nephrotoxicity (toxic to kidneys), even
pancreatic hypertrophy; a condition where the pancreas enlarges.
Did you know, the U.S. government subsidizes soy companies with OUR tax dollars. It is
cheap feed for cows, chickens, pigs, and when we eat them, it is a detriment to OUR
health = BAD DEAL!!

DAY 3 PEG'S

Day 3 of Santa’s Naughty List!

Here’s my take:

Polyethylene glycol, often seen as “PEG” on ingredient labels, is another unnecessary
chemical contributing to increasing our body’s overall toxic load —and who needs that!

Written with a number after PEG (PEG-8, PEG-100, etc), denoting its molecular weight,
this petroleum-based chemical is used in a wide variety of products from skin care to
vaccines, antifreeze and even foods (see list in picture)

PEGs are used to thicken, enhance moisture and increase ingredient penetration.

During PEG processing, dangerous carcinogens are produced, that are NOT required to
be listed on ingredient labels!!!! SAY WHAT?!? These penetrate the skin & gut, risking
human life, as well as being “persistent” in the environment.

After testing, it has been revealed many products-from popular skin care, to children’s
bubble bath, and even hair relaxers actually contain HIDDEN 1,4 dioxane (from the
PEG processing), as well as HEAVY METALS such as lead, iron, cobalt, nickel, cadmium
& arsenic (as per the International Journal of Toxicology)

PEG’s related chemicals are just as concerning. (see list in picture)

Toxicity has been known to contribute to obliterating our much needed friendly gut
bacteria, diarrhea, stomach discomfort and gas, as well as causing severe allergic
reactions, skin irritations and more serious systemic organ toxicities and nervous
system toxicities & linked to various cancers and fetal developmental issues and more!

DAY 3 PEG'S cont'd

Many watchdog organizations such as “The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics,” the
“National Toxicology Program,” many scientific journals and even the cosmetic
industry’s own, “Cosmetic Ingredient Review” committee have acknowledged concerns
about PEG's.
There is NO real governing agency protecting us from toxic or dangerous chemicals in
our personal care products. By law, manufactures can use any registered
chemicals/ingredients. That does not mean they are safe for our body. In fact some
ingredients are downright dangerous!
So ALWAYS check the labels of ALL your personal care products and other products
known to use these NO-NO ingredients!

NAUGHTY: PEG’S= Polyethylene Glycol

NICE: Pentylene Glycol (derived from non-GMO beets, sugarcane or corn) is the
PEG-free, environmentally-sustainable alternative to petrochemical PEGs in green
cosmetics & skincare that also has added anti-microbial & preservative properties

NICE: Vegetable glycerin is another alternative

DAY 4 FLUORIDE

Day 4 of Santa’s Naughty Ingredient List reveals the TRUTH about FLUORIDE.
Here’s my take:

Have you ever looked at the warning label on traditional toothpaste? Why would you
have to contact poison control if more than use for brushing was accidentally
swallowed? What kind of poison are they putting in our toothpaste?

A study done way back in 1987, revealed a single tube of bubble gum flavored Colgate
for kids toothpaste, if swallowed, contained enough FLUORIDE to kill a child weighing
less than 30kg /60 pounds!

Holistic dentists will tell you they drank the Kool-Aid in school but did their OWN
research when they got out and realized the significant health dangers of this industrial
waste product, fluoride and how “fluorosis” of the teeth and bones can actually occur!

Fluoride accumulates & calcifies tissues & glands in the body, causing fluorosis of bones
& teeth making them weak and does not prevent cavities! Do some REAL research; any
holistic dentist will tell you the TRUTH!

Health issues linked: painful arthritis, kidney disease, cancer, infertility,
hypothyroidism, brain effects= lower IQ (think kids), impaired glucose
metabolism w/in 30 min. of brushing teeth (think diabetes).

NAUGHTY- Fluoride

NICE- Keep your body alkaline for strong teeth & bones

DAY 5 CALCIUM CARBONATE

Day 5 of Santa’s Naughty Ingredient List reveals the TRUTH about CALCIUM
CARBONATE. Here’s my take:

This ingredient is as basic as it gets; call it, supplement building 101; NEVER use
calcium carbonate in a supplement. Period. I personally have been teaching this for
DECADES, and many holistic doctors will tell you this is the “worst calcium” and to
“never take it.”

Calcium carbonate, sourced from various types of ground rocks or marines skeletons,
when ingested, it can settle like CEMENT in the arteries, has very LOW absorption, thus
does NOT effectively get to the bones & can CAUSE a host of other health issues. (See
picture attached)

The elderly (men & women), often look to calcium carbonate to save their bones,
thinking about osteoporosis, but this group can often have LOW stomach acid to begin
with and they struggle with nutrient absorption in general.

Calcium carbonate requires HIGHER stomach acid to even start to breakdown. So it’s
worthless & even dangerous for them to be taking calcium carbonate.

Also, those with GERD/heartburn/acid reflux that are taking stomach acid LOWERING
medications like proton pump inhibitors will ALSO have issues with calcium carbonate.

One final note, popular over-the-counter (OTC) antacids use calcium carbonate and I
give the SAME warnings to those products as well. (Here, the solution is to fix the acid
deficiency issues, yes, deficiency, but that’s another teaching.)

Also, keep in mind, calcium, no matter the form, should NEVER be taken as a STAND
ALONE ingredient. As found in nature in foods, calcium NEEDS its FRIENDS like
magnesium, vitamin D3, vitamin K2 to assimilate and go where it needs to go: your
bones & teeth.

DAY 6 FRAGRANCE/PARFUM

Day 6 of Santa’s Naughty Ingredient List reveals the TRUTH about
FRAGRANCE/PARFUM

Here's my take:

We all like to smell good with perfumes, colognes & lotions and even have our rooms
smell like pumpkin spice or Santa’s cinnamon roll, but did you know all this smelling
good can come at a HUGE cost to your health?

Exposure to the literally 1000’s of chemicals in synthetic fragrances & parfums can cause
a whole host of issues, from eye, nose & throat irritations to neurological disturbances,
to more serious & downright dangerous and deadly results, as you consistently increase
your body’s toxic load. (See list in Naughty List picture)

Even “unscented” products can contain harmful, what they call “masking chemicals.”

The FDA has a very backwards and frustrating -harmless until PROVEN harmful-
philosophy whereas, in other countries, many of the chemicals hidden in fragrances are
banned….but not in the US. SO ALWAYS READ LABELS OF THE PRODUCTS YOU BUY!

NOTE: Some large corporations do use the more natural- based colorings in their
formulas in Europe, because it is required, but those SAME companies choose to keep
the cheap, health-harming chemical colors here in the US.

DAY 7 SYNTHETIC COLORS & DYES

Day 7 of Santa’s Naughty Ingredient List reveals the TRUTH about SYNTHETIC COLORS
& DYES Here's my take:

These cheap, chemical colors are used to make food appear fresh, more vibrant,
appetizing & brighter in color. Unfortunately, these “FD& C Colors” & “Coal Tar Dyes”
also increase the body’s overall toxic load, as they are derived from the byproducts of
petroleum/coal and have been found to be contaminated with low levels of heavy
metals and additional cancer-causing chemicals.

And to top it off, they offer ZERO nutritional value whatsoever!!

These colors cause a host of health issues (see list in Naughty List pic below) from
damaging our DNA to the point where cells aren’t able to repair themselves, to
increasing cancer & tumor growth (testicular, breast, thyroid & others).

One of the most well known, but underrated facts is the relationship to behavior issues
in kids. Irritability, hyperactivity & even ADHD could be NON-ISSUES if parents would
simply eliminate these synthetic, toxic chemicals from there children’s diets altogether.
There are healthier color/dye alternatives. (see Naughty List)

Found in almost every food in today’s SAD (Standard American Diet), from popular
sports rehydration drinks, to kids flavored powder mixes, processed desserts, icings &
candies, these toxin-laced colors are also found in popular vitamin supplements,
medicines, toothpastes, make-up and so much more.

Some of the more deceptive places (as if putting petroleum based ingredients laced
with heavy metals isn’t deceptive enough), are in all kinds of meats, hotdogs &
sausages, fish (think farm-raised salmon ) & other seafood…and even in a jar of pickles!

Although they do go by other names, the easiest way to start recognizing them on food
labels is to remember it’s a color, followed by a number.

Some of the WORST offenders are: Yellow 5, Red 40, Blue 1 (see Naughty List picture
for more)

DAY 7 SYNTHETIC COLORS & DYES cont'd

And don’t forget about the impact these noxious chemicals can have on your
BABIES, KIDS and even PETS! A high, chronic intake of these synthetic, chemical
colorings is definitely NOT advised!
Research The Journal of Toxicology and other science journals for more shocking
truths!

NAUGHTY- FD&C colors or coal tar dyes (a color name, followed by a number)
NICE- Beet powder, paprika, saffron, lycopene (from tomatoes),

carrot oil, beta carotene
NICE- Choose WHOLE foods instead

DAY 8 ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS

Day 8 of Santa’s Naughty Ingredient List reveals the TRUTH about ARTIFICIAL
SWEETENERS Here's my take:

“If man made it, don’t eat it,” said good ol’ Jack Lalanne. If he was around
today, he certainly would NOT approve of the slew of artificial sweeteners
hidden in almost every category of food we consume!

The pink packets, the blue packets, the yellow packets and some new packets-
not only are they worse for you than even fructose in MANY ways, but they are
also neuro-toxins= toxic to your nervous system; your brain or spinal cord and
your nerves. Got an ant problem? Sprinkle a pink packet on them and watch
your problem go away.

Many think they will lose weight using artificial sweeteners because of a “diet”
or “no calories” label but unfortunately, it is the exact opposite. Not only can
they potentially bioaccumulate in your fat cells, but studies show they actually
raise blood glucose levels, causing users to GAIN weight. (See the Naughty List
for many more side effects)

There is a whole political history as to how some of these were allowed in our
food supply, so it is up to YOU to read labels & keep your family safe.

DAY 9 TALC/TALCUM POWDER

Day 9 of Santa’s Naughty Ingredient List reveals the TRUTH about TALC/TALCUM
POWDER Here’s my take:

Talc or talcum powder is a soft, silky mineral compound that has been found to
contain the cancer-causing contaminant, ASBESTOS.

It is used in personal care and for babies diaper rash & is found in make-up, foods &
even supplements & pharmaceuticals.

It is said the talcum powder- cancer connection was established in the 1970’s, yet it is
STILL to this day being sold on shelves to customers for personal care use AND
marketed for babies for diaper rash & skin irritations.

Talc has been a source of major litigation over the more recent years, with many large
victories; a jury awarded $110 million to a woman in Virginia who claimed decades of
use caused her ovarian cancer.

The largest maker/distributor of talcum powder (baby powder) has been accused of
being negligent in failing to warn & pass on to customers the dangers stated clearly
on the Material Safety Data Sheet on the very raw material they purchase, as well as
covering up the cancer connections of ovarian cancer & mesothelioma cancer of the
lungs.

The International Agency of Research for Cancer classifies talc as a possible
carcinogen, with an increased risk of over 30% vs woman who don’t use it. Ovarian
cancer accounts for more deaths than any other cancer of the female reproductive
system.

DAY 9 TALC/TALCUM POWDER cont'd

(Note: The largest seller of talcum powder to the public say they will stop selling it in
2023, we shall see if that happens.)
In the meantime, it’s time to get educated all about it!
Check out the details in The Naughty List - You will be SHOCKED about all the
places talc is HIDDEN, including SUPPLEMENTS!!! Yes, so-called “health”
companies use talc as a FILLER in their capsules/pills (as do pharmaceutical
companies), so ALWAYS check labels & look under the “Other Ingredients” section
on the back label.

NAUGHTY - Talc, talcum powder, magnesium silicate

NICE - look for “talc-free” products, using instead: GMO/free cornstarch,
arrowroot powder, tapioca starch, kaolin clay, oat flour, or even baking soda; which
also helps with odor control

DAY 10 METHICONES

Day 10 of Santa’s Naughty Ingredient List reveals the TRUTH about -METHICONES
Here’s my take:

If you’ve ever used a lotion, skin care product, deodorant or even a muscle rub that
leaves your skin silky smooth, or used a hair product or conditioner that leaves your
hair feeling soft and velvety, most likely you have encountered methicones/siloxanes.
But they’re not just found in personal care products, they are found in kids toys (like
Silly Putty), silicone caulks, water repelling products and even in medicines for
flatulence and IBS/Irritable Bowl Syndrome. (See more products on the Naughty List)

Methicones/siloxanes are liquid SILICONES that’s are known hormone disrupters, that
can lead to a whole host of issues (see Naughty List). They are also a detriment to the
environment, as these silicones bioaccumulate and are found in fish, birds and
mammals and they are toxic to ecosystems.
We already have to battle SO MANY chemical endocrine (hormone) disruptors, the last
thing we need is another one to add to our already high toxic load. And we wonder why
so many have cancer, auto immune diseases and other rare health challenges that were
not seen 20 or 30 years ago?

Remember, your SKIN is your body’s largest organ. Within 30 seconds what you put on
it gets absorbed.

Did you know, the United States allows MANY ingredients that are banned in other
countries. These companies even have certain formulas for Europe, WITHOUT the
toxic ingredients and that the SAME company sells a different formula here IN the U.S.
WITH the toxic ingredients, so it’s up to YOU as an EDUCATED consumer to find
companies with high standards and integrity that simply WON’T use ingredients
known to harm.

DAY 10 METHICONES cont'd

In the case of methicones, there have been safety call-outs all over the world.
Here are a few:
Environment Canada , concluding they are toxic & persistent and have ability to
bioaccumulate in aquatic organisms.
The European Chemicals Agency, noting the potential damage to fertility & even the
unborn child.
Health Canada proposed to add them to their list of toxic substances & proposed to
regulate the quantity in personal care products.
Swedish Society For Nature Conservatism calling methicones/silicones flat out for what
they are: endocrine disrupters.
ChemSecs, putting methicones on their “Sin List;” a database of chemical likely to be
banned in the near future.

Check out the Naughty List in the picture for more details.

NAUGHTY = Methicone, DiMethicone, CycloMethicone, Siloxane and any names
using the -methicone or -siloxane suffix.

Also, WATCH OUT for MORE than 1 of them in a single product! Who does that?!

NICE = Look for “silicone-free” products, plant oils & butters, hyaluronic acid,
glycerin, kaolin clay. These actually DO keep moisture in, improve shine, & can
strengthen hair (the plant oils) and will NOT toxify you OR the environment.

It is estimated there are well over 12,000 products that contain methicone/siloxanes, so
reading labels is imperative!

DAY 11 MELATONIN

Day 11 of Santa’s Naughty Ingredient List reveals the TRUTH about the HORMONE
MELATONIN Here’s my take:

Did you know, melatonin is actually a HORMONE? Yes, it is a hormone produced by the
PINEAL gland in your brain in response to fading light/ darkness/sunset that plays a
role in our sleep/wake cycles, otherwise known as CIRCADIAN rhythm.

A lab-made version is available over- the-counter as a supplement in the United States
and since 2021 has been available in Australia for people over 55, but due to its lack of
long-term research & misuse, it is only sold as a PRESCRIPTION in Europe and only to
older adults. A study in 2022 showed sales of melatonin have increased by a 150%
(thank-you, U.S.).

Another 2022 study showed the number of reports about melatonin to the U.S. POISON
Control Centers increased from 2012, from 8,336 cases to 52,563 cases in 2021!

You might be surprised to know, is NOT advised to use supplemental melatonin
because: 1. It’s actually a HORMONE, NOT nutrition

2. When you take exogenous hormones daily, your body can STOP making its own,
making it harder to transition off the supplemental hormone.

3. In a 2017 study of 31 different supplements said to contain melatonin on the label, it
was discovered through testing, a whopping 71% of them with “melatonin” on the label
did NOT match the amounts/levels of what was ACTUALLY IN the bottle and 26% of the
supplements tested contained “serotonin,”which even in small doses, is dangerous.

Note: Most products have ZERO certifications validating the proper quality and dosage
actually IN the supplement, so always look forward/ask about 3rd party certifications
before purchasing ANY supplement.

DAY 11 MELATONIN cont'd

4. Long-term safety of exogenous melatonin has not been established for ANY age.
In addition, there is a whole list of precautions/warnings/side effects when taking
melatonin including: headaches, dizziness, mild tremors, depression, stomach cramps,
increased risk of seizures, decreased blood pressure, increased risk of bleeding because it
reduces blood coagulation…(see more risks in the Naughty List pic).

Keep in mind, melatonin also has a role in regulating blood pressure, body temperature,
cortisol/stress sexual and even immune functions, so you can clearly see how taking a
synthetic, outside/exogenous “natural ” supplemental melatonin could potentially
negatively impact those and lead to the side effect dangers listed above & on the full #11
Naughty List.

Even more worrisome, supplemental melatonin can interact negatively with many
MEDICATIONS.

Here are just a few, according to the Mayo Clinic:
-High blood pressure meds -Diabetes meds -Blood thinners/anti-clotting meds
-Birth control pills (oops!) -Anti-seizure/epilepsy meds
-Immune system depressing meds -Prescription sleeping pills

And since melatonin is transferred through the breastmilk, it should go without saying,
melatonin is definitely NOT for use with breast-feeding women, or those who are
pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

It is said up to 80% of all Americans do not get enough sleep and turn to over-the-
counter pills or prescription sleep meds. But does melatonin actually help you sleep?
Melatonin isn’t really a sleeping aid- it is a sleeping REGULATOR; It tricks the body into
thinking it is night time. It reduces alertness, but does not have a sedating effect.

Here are some TO DO tips on how to strengthen and increase naturally, your sleep/wake
cycle’s WITHOUT taking daily dangerous hormones:

1. A few hours before bed, dim the lights and turn off all blue light devices (computers,
phone)

2. During the day, be sure to get natural/real sunlight exposure. And remember too much
light from artificial sources can actually reduce melatonin production.

3. Reduce stress as much as possible… Go for a daily run/walk, exercise daily, hug & love
on your animals, kids or grandkids and release the feel good hormone, oxytocin!

4. Avoid late night shift work, as this definitely throws off your circadian rhythm and long
term can be very unhealthy

5. Incorporation a nighttime ritual of epson salt bath (which is magnesium sulphate).
Magnesium helps to relax the muscles, getting you ready for rest and recovery. Also
include a clean magnesium supplement at night, preferably with it’s friends, vitamin D3,
vitamin K2 and calcium (but NOT Calcium Carbonate- see Naughty List #5 for the
dangers on this form of calcium)

6. Turn on a diffuser in your bedroom with essential oils like lavender, chamomile rose
& even jasmine.

7. Ultilize the REAL natural sleep aids that are NON-habit forming with the nutrients
mentioned above in #5, and incorporate teas like chamomile and supplements combos
with Valerian root, ashwaganda, and even sea kelp that brings the added benefit to help
reduced oxidative stress at the cellular level for good rest.

One last thing, keeping the gland that PRODUCES melatonin, the PINEAL GLAND
healthy is also essential. With today’s overall unhealthy lifestyles, it can actually calcify

DAY 12 STACKING STIMULANTS

Day 12 of Santa’s Naughty Ingredient List reveals the TRUTH about Stacking
Stimulants. Here’s my take:

Sometimes we all need a little bit of extra energy, so it’s not uncommon to grab a
warm, uplifting beverage or even take a supplement marketed to enhance energy, but
what are the sources of energy in those supplements? Are the ingredient labels being
read & understood by consumers? Are the ingredients even safe and legitimately
permitted in supplements?

Here are a few potentially high-risk stimulants to watch out for, not only individually,
but also when stacked together, or even more dangerous, stacked together ALONG
WITH other common energy/caffeine ingredients found in supplements today.
This kind of COMPOUNDED stimulant effect can be very dangerous:

1-DMHA= Dimethlyhexylamine =Octodrine
This is a central nervous stimulant that is considered even more potent than caffeine.
The US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for Olympic athletes, states clearly on their
website that “no placebo controlled trial‘s have been conducted” on this ingredient
and “the use of octodrine during exercise is potentially dangerous.”

DMHA/Octodrine has also been banned since 2017 in Australia for over-the-counter
use, as it is classified as “Schedule 10 Drug” there. Athletes who are drug tested
should avoid DMHA/Octodrine altogether, as it is banned by the NCAA and it is also
on the World Anti-Doping Prohibited List; prohibited in competition for Olympic &
Pro athletes.

What the consumer also usually doesn’t know is the FDA states clearly on its website,
DMHA/Octodrine “does not meet the statutory definition of a dietary supplement and
is unsafe as a food additive” and it “does not qualify as a dietary ingredient, is not an
approved food additive, is not GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) and does not meet

any of the other list of exceptions to the food additive definition, it is an unsafe food
additive and dietary supplements containing DMHA are adulterated under the
FD&C Act.”

2- Synephrine =Citrus Aurantium =Bitter Orange

Another stimulant that has been also been banned in many countries and for
college athletes in the the NCAA. Health Canada has also banned the addition of
caffeine or any source of caffeine along with synephrine, as there’s “insufficient
published clinical evidence” to establish the safety of this combination. Synephrine
may also interact negatively with some prescription medications.

Note, the naturally occurring levels of synephrine in dried bitter orange extract
range from .012% to .25%. But when concentrations are UNnaturally modified to
30% or even 50% or more synephrine, that’s when side effects can really get
dangerous, especially when STACKED with other sources of caffeine. The FDA
considers these levels “adulterated,” and could lead to “a significant increase in
systolic blood pressure diastolic blood pressure and heart rate.” So, combining this
ingredient with other sources of caffeine would be a huge safety concern.

The FDA regularly issues public violation letters to companies utilizing these
ingredients in their products and other ingredients not permitted, as it is the
“responsibility of the maker of the product to assure they are complying with ALL
requirements of federal law & FDA regulations” and of course, it’s ALSO
responsibility of the product maker to keep their customers safe.

Here are just some of the dangerous side effects of stacking these types of stimulants:

Adrenal burnout/fatigue Dangerous spikes in blood pressure

Heart palpitations/increased or irregular heartbeats

Strokes, heart attacks Shortness of breath

Central nervous system symptoms

Dizziness, headaches, peripheral numbness, anxiety

Emergency room visits Death

So let’s talk about ways to HEALTHIER energy:

1. Limit your caffeine to safe levels: a cup of organic coffee, organic tea, or a clean product
that contains raw green coffee bean extract, green tea extract or even Yerba matte ;
stimulants that your body can handle.

2. Remember that clean nutrition GIVES YOU energy, so load up on good healthy nutrients
from food (as much raw, unprocessed food as possible), as well as daily whole food-based
supplements.

3. Consume fresh-made organic vegetable juices. You’ll be shocked at the energy you get
from these!
