MILK CENTRE (HMMC) BY MAJLIS FATWA PAHANG
The issues of Shariah Compliance SASMEC @IIUM priority in
delivering its services. Prior to the establishment of
Halimatussadia Mother’s Milk Centre (HMMC),
several shariah issues have been identi�ied and highlighted by
the committee.
The concept was discussed internally
with the team and the proposed ideas
are further discussed by Majlis Fatwa
Pahang. A site visit and discussion with
Sahibbus Samahah MUIP have been
done to get advice in implementing
HMMC at SASMEC @IIUM. The team’s
hard work is paid off after Majlis Fatwa
Pahang agreed to approve the operation
of HMMC through letter, dated 3rd

The Department of Radiology is located at the Ground �loor of the SASMEC @IIUM building and it is
well- equipped with general X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, CT Scan, MRI, Angiography,
Fluoroscopy, Orthopantomogram and Bone Densitometry. The 24-hour imaging service is also
provided for emergency and urgent cases.

√ Operation Theatre
Operation theatre is a facility within a hospital where surgical operations are carried out in an
aseptic environment. Operation Theatre at SASMEC @IIUM is located at Level 3 which is the same
level as the CCU and ICU.
√ Intensive Care Unit
Intensive care units for cater patients with severe or life-threatening illnesses and injuries, which
require constant care, close supervision from life support equipment and medication in order to
ensure normal bodily functions. Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is located at Level 3.
√ Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
A Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is a hospital ward specialized in the care of patients with various cardiac
conditions that require continuous monitoring and treatment. It is located at Level 3 in the building.

√ Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
NICU is the special unit that placed newborn babies who need intensive medical care. NICU is
equipped with advanced technology and trained healthcare professionals to give special care to the
babies.
√ Dialysis
The Dialysis Unit provides all the necessary services required for the optimal management of the
patient with acute renal failure. It is located at Level 2 in the building.
√ Emergency & Trauma
The Department of Emergency & Trauma in the hospital is responsible for the provision of medical

√ Labour Suite
The labor room is one of the most versatile rooms in a hospital. It is called a labor, delivery, and
recovery room (LDR). It is the room that used for labor and birth, including the initial hours of
recovery. SASMEC @IIUM Labour Suite is located at the Level 3 of the building.
Academic Area
As a teaching hospital, the hospital is developed with complete infrastructures to train IIUM’s
student in the medical and health related programs.
