Add 2 cm3 sulphuric acid followed by of 2 cm3 iron(II) sulphate solution.

2. Tambahkan perlahan-lahan asid sulfurik pekat

Add slowly concentrated sulphuric acid

3. Cincin perang terbentuk.

Brown ring is formed.

(iii) CuO + 2HNO3  !: Cu(NO3)2 + H2O

Mole of HNO3 = 1.0 × 50 = 0.05

2 mol HNO3: 1 mol Cu(NO3)2
0.05 mol HNO3: 0.025 mol Cu(NO3)2

Jisim / Mass Cu(NO3)2 = 0.025 × 188 = 4.7 g

(ii) MgO + H2SO4  !: MgSO4 + H2O

(iii) Tambahkan 2 cm3 larutan barium klorida. Mendakan putih terhasil.

Add 2 cm3 of barium chloride solution. White precipitate produced.

Bahan / Material : Air suling / Distilled water

Radas: Bikar 50 cm3, rod kaca, corong turas, kertas turas, mangkuk penyejat, penunu Bunsen,

Apparatus : 50 cm3 beaker, glass rod, filter funnel, filter paper, evaporating dish, Bunsen burner

Prosedur / Procedure:
1. Masukkan campuran garam ke dalam bikar. Tuangkan air suling dan kacau.

Put the salt mixture in a beaker. Add in distilled water and stir.

2. Turaskan dan keringkan pepejal X karbonat dengan kertas turas.

Filter and dry the solid X carbonate with a filter paper.

3. Masukkan hasil turasan ke dalam mangkuk penyejat dan panaskan sehingga tepu.

Put the filtrate in an evaporating dish heat until saturated.

4. Sejukkan larutan.

Cool the solution.

5. Turaskan garam Y nitrat. Keringkan dengan kertas turas.

Filter salt Y nitrate. Dry with a filter paper.

Pemerhatian: Garam X karbonat tidak larut. // Garam Y nitrat larut.

Observation: X carbonate salt is insoluble. // X nitrate salt is soluble.
