1. PRICE AND SUPPLY MONITORING

• Weekly Monitoring on Price Trends of BNPCs
The monitoring of price and supply of

basic and prime commodities was conducted
weekly to the twenty (20) pre-identified
business establishments in the City of
Ilagan.

Also, twenty (20) business
establishments each from Cauayan City and
Santiago City were monitored monthly.
Generally, minimal price movements were
observed especially in stores located at the wet
market. Supplies are adequate, however, delays
in the delivery of stocks were reported due to
strict monitoring on the entry of delivery vehicles
following the health and safety protocols brought
by COVID-19 Pandemic. Price reports were
immediately uploaded to the Online Price
Monitoring System (OPMS) upon monitoring.

2. COMPREHENSIVE MONITORING AND
ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM

To ensure that products comply with
products certification guidelines set forth under
existing Fair Trade Laws, DTI Isabela had
conducted a comprehensive monitoring and
enforcement activity to eighty (80) business
establishments in San Mateo, Cauayan City,
Santiago City, and City of Ilagan, Isabela. All
products inspected from the above firms monitored
are conforming with the requirement of mandatory
product certification.

The monitoring team had also distributed
consumer information materials and leaflets which
served as their reference in maintaining compliance
to existing trade laws being regulated by DTI.

3. ON-SITE ASSESSMENT OF PRIVATE EMISSION TESTING CENTER IN ALICIA,
ISABELA.

Pursuant to Department Administrative
Order (DAO) 03, Series of 2002 and
Republic Act (RA) No. 8694 otherwise
known as the “Philippine Clean Air Act of
1999”, DTI R2 Isabela through its
Consumer Protection Division partnered
with the Technical Education and Skills
Development Authority (TESDA) in the
conduct of a joint on-site assessment of
Ken Emission Testing Center in Alicia,
Isabela on January 25.

4. RESOLUTION OF CONSUMER COMPLAINTS

For the month of January, DTI Isabela received a total of seven (7) consumer
complaints wherein all of which were resolved within the prescribed time.

5. ACCREDITATION OF SERVICE AND REPAIR ENTERPRISES.

In compliance to PD 1572, Art. 128 of RA 7394, and DO 69 Series of 1993, as of
January 31, 2022 DTI Isabela through Provincial Accreditation Officer TIDS Sofia I.
Almonte had issued Certificates of Accreditation to one hundred fifty-three
(153) Service and Repair Enterprises in Isabela.
The accreditation aims to promote reliability and competence among service and
repair shops as way to hasten technological advancements anchored with ethical
standards fit for the effective rendering of such services.

6. ISSUANCE OF SALES PROMOTION PERMIT.

DTI Isabela issued three (3) Sales Promotion Permit to CMG Merchandising, Toyota
Isabela, and Ann RTW Trading. The issuance of Sales Promotion Permit to the
aforementioned firms is in conformity with the provisions of Article 116 of Republic
Act (RA) 7394 otherwise known as The Consumer Act of the Philippines, which
requires that companies conducting sales promotion campaigns including beauty
contest national in character, shall secure first a Sales Promotion Permit prior to the
launching of such campaign.

1. ONE-ON-ONE CONSULTATION/
ORIENTATION/ BRIEFING TO RSA, PETC,
SALES PROMO, BAGWIS CLIENTS AND NC
CLIENTS

Simultaneous to the issuance of
RSA and Sale Promotion Permits, TIDS Sofia
I. Almonte conducted one-on-one consultation/
orientation/briefing to sixty (60) RSA and Sale
Promotion Permit Clients.

The consultation involved a know-
how discussion with clients regarding the
accomplishment of required documents for
accreditation and/or issuance of sales
promotion permit.

2. ON-AIR CONSUMER ADVOCACY

As part of DTI Isabela’s
commitment to promoting ethical business
practice through online and on-air information
dissemination, a radio guestings were held on
January 7, 13, 21, and 27, 2022 through 98.5
i-FM Cauayan’s Sentro Serbisyo Program
and 97.7 Sweet Radio FM in Santiago City.

SRE Accreditation, Business One
Stop Shop, Safety Seal Certification Program,
and DTI Updates were discussed by DC
Elmer Agorto, STIDS Lovell Mark Campania,
Technical Analyst Mel Mari Angelo Laciste,
and Tech. Assitant Sabel Sevilla respectively.
