After Separation from Service
• Benefit Letter – providing details of your entitlements

automatically after first issuance

While in receipt of your benefit:
The Certificate of Entitlement (CE)
• A CE is sent each year to all beneficiaries who have been
receiving a benefit for more than six months (i.e. in
payment before May of the year in question) to confirm
continued entitlement to the benefit in payment.
• Mailing starts during the last week of October.
• The CE must be returned to the Fund duly completed,
carrying the beneficiary’s ORIGINAL
signature/thumbprint (authenticated if necessary

While in receipt of your benefit:
The Certificate of Entitlement (CE)
• A CE reminder is sent in January to the beneficiaries who
have not sent back the October CE
• The July benefit would be suspended if we do not receive
back either the October CE or the January reminder
• After suspension, the benefits are reinstated with
retroactive effect whenever a CE is received. Benefits are
forfeited if for two years the retiree has not returned the
CE or claimed the benefit
