affliction and thus enables us to comfort those who are in trouble with
the same consolation we have received from Him.
(Pause)
Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Congregation: Amen.

2. FUNERAL SENTENCES
I am the resurrection and the life; he who believed in me, though he died, yet
shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.
(John 11:25-26).
For I know that my Redeemer lives and at last He will stand upon the earth,
and after my skin has been thus destroy, then from flesh I shall see God, whom
I shall see on my side and my eyes shall behold, and not another (Job. 19:25-
27).
I have fought a good fight of faith, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of Righteousness which the Lord
the righteous judge will award to me that day, and not to me only, but also to
all who have loved his appearing (II Tim. 4:7-8)
If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die we die to the Lord; so then
whether
we live or whether we died, we are the Lords. For this end Christ died and lives
again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and the living. (Romans 14:8)
Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on says the spirit. For they
rest their labours (Revelation 14:13)

3. PROCESSIONAL HYMN – ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA
1 Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
The strife is o'er, the battle done;
the victory of life is won;
the song of triumph has begun.
Alleluia!
2 The powers of death have done their worst,
but Christ their legions has dispersed.
Let shouts of holy joy outburst.
Alleluia!
3 The three sad days are quickly sped;
he rises glorious from the dead.
All glory to our risen Head.
Alleluia!
4 He closed the yawning gates of hell;
the bars from heaven's high portals fell.
Let hymns of praise his triumph tell.
Alleluia!
5 Lord, by the stripes which wounded thee,
from death's dread sting thy servants free,
that we may live and sing to thee.
Alleluia!
4. Psalm 90
1. Lord, you have been our dwelling-place throughout all generations.
2. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the
world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
3. You turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
4. For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or
like a watch in the night.
5. Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death - they are like the new
grass of the morning:
6. In the morning it springs up new, by evening it is dry and withered.
7. We are consumed by your anger and terrified by your indignation.
8. You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your
presence.
6
9. All our days pass away under your wrath; we finish our years with a moan.
10. Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the
best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
11. If only we knew the power of your anger! Your wrath is as great as the fear
that is your due.
12. Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
13. Relent, LORD! How long will it be? Have compassion on your servants.
14. Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love that we may sing for joy
and be glad all our days.
15. Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years
as we have seen trouble.
16. May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children.
17. May the favour of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our
hands for us — yes, establish the work of our hands.
5. BIBLE READING: Romans 8: 31 – 39
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not
with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s
elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and
furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes
intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation,
or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers,
nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created
thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
6. PRAYER (Let us pray)
Eternal God, the Lord of life, the conqueror of death, our help in every time of trouble
who does not willingly grieve or afflict the children of men; comfort us who mourn, and
give us grace in the presence of death, to worship you, that we may have sure hope of
eternal life and be able to put our whole trust in your goodness and mercy, through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.
7
Our Heavenly Father, whose love is everlasting, help us now to turn to you with reverent
and submissive hearts that through the steadfastness and encouragement that the scripture
brings, we may hope and be lifted above our distress into the light and peace of
your presence; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Almighty God, our refuge and strength, you have given us a high priest who understands
our human weakness. Help us therefore to trust in him and with confidence come to the
Throne of Grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace in time of need, through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.
7. HYMN: Oh for a thousand tongues to sing
1. Oh for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer's praise;
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace!
2. My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim -
To spread thro’ all the earth abroad -
The honours of Thy name.
3. Jesus! the Name that charms our fears,
That bids our sorrows cease;
‘Tis music in the sinner’s ears,
‘Tis life, and health, and peace.
4. He breaks the power of cancelled sin,
He sets the prisoners free;
His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood avails for me.
8.SERMON
8
9. HYMN: Rock of ages, cleft for me
1. Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.
2. Not the labour of my hands,
Can fulfill Thy law's demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears for ever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.
3. Nothing in my hand I bring;
Simply to Thy Cross I cling!
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Savior, or I die
4. While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy Judgement-throne;
Rock of Ages, cleft for me
Let me hide myself in Thee;
9

14. WITHDRAWAL HYMN: SHALL WE GATHER AT THE RIVER
1. Shall we gather at the river,
Where bright angel feet have trod;
With its crystal tide forever
Flowing by the throne of God?
Refrain:
Yes, we'll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.
2. On the margin of the river,
Guided by our Shepherd King,
We will walk and worship ever,
His dear footsteps following
3. Ever we reach the shining river,
Lay we every burden down;
Grace our spirits will deliver,
And provide a robe and crown.
4. There beside the tranquil river,
Mirror of the Saviour’s face,
Happy hearts, no more to serve
Sing of glory and of grace.
5. Soon we'll reach the shining river,
Soon our pilgrimage will cease;
Soon our happy hearts will quiver
With the melody of peace.

AT THE GRAVEYARD
1. SENTENCES
Man that is born of a woman hath but a short time to live and is full of misery. He
cometh up, and is cut down like a flower, he fleeth as if it were a shadow, and never
continueth in one stay.
In the midst of life, we are in death; of whom may we seek for succor, but for Thee,
O Lord who for our sins art justly displeased? Yet O Lord God, O Lord most mighty,
O holy and most merciful Saviour, deliver us not into the bitter pains of eternal death.
Thou knowest Lord, the secrets of our hearts, shut not thy merciful ears to our prayers
but spare us, Lord most Holy, O God most mighty, O Holy and merciful Saviour, Thou
worthy, Judge eternal, suffer us not, at our last hour from any pains of death, to fall from
thee. (Amen)
2. HYMN: SLEEP ON BELOVED
1. Sleep on! Beloved, sleep and take thy rest.
Lay down thy head upon the Saviour’s breast.
We love thee well, but Jesus loves thee best
Good night! Good night! Good night!
2. Calm in thy slumber as an infant’s sleep
But thou shall take no more toil and weep
Thine is a perfect rest, secure and deep
Good night! Good night! Good night!
3. Only “Good night” beloved not farewell
A little while and all his saints shall dwell
In hallowed union indivisible
Good night! Good night! Good night!
4. Until we meet again before His throne
Clothed in the spotless robe
He gives His own
Until we know even as we are known
Good night! Good night! Good night!

Mom, I can't believe I am writing a tribute for your funeral and not a birthday, as everyone
keeps saying “O ye Olorun”. My one and only mother, who keeps taking care of her kids
even when we are all over 30 years of age. There is no one again to call me around past 6
pm asking if I was still working or calling to ask what they should prepare for me for dinner. I
still look forward to those calls, but they are not coming.
I waited for your call informing me of the passing of the Queen of England, but it never
came. Oh, I miss your detailed explanation of her visit to Nigeria and your gist of all her
funeral rites, my gist partner of life!
My jewel of inestimable value, my beautiful angel, words can't describe how much pain I
am going through writing this tribute, I love you and I miss you so much, wish I could turn
back the hand time to experience you again.
I will always remember all your teachings and advice and ensure we all still imbibe them all.
I still can't believe you are gone, it is so unbelievable. How can I use a few words to
describe such a beautiful soul, beautiful both inside and outside. Loving in all our ways,
very punctual in her biddings. I am in tears when people speak about how you encouraged
them to attend church and remember the way you tend to encourage children to also serve
the Lord, your subtle ways of doing evangelism for God.
The solace I hold on to now is that you are in heaven sitting by the right of God in joy and
happiness, that is always my wish for you above all. You deserved this and much more.
You left a very big footprint for me to occupy, God willing I will try my best with God at my
side.
My Iya Meto, I know you are keeping the angels in heaven busy, ensuring all things are in
place… Keep them on their toes till we meet again.
Love you with all my heart, miss you forever, Rest till we meet and part no more
Olabimpe Abidemi Gisanrin
24
Iye Gisanrin as I fondly called you A.K.A “Mama”, not in its typical reference but in reference to
Margaret Thatcher who was known to be tough.
I now understand you had to be tough because you lost your parents at a young age and
equally had to take care of 5 children also at a young age after Dad died. God was always by
your side as you carried that burden for 34 years with class and head held high. Today we are
all Graduates because you never gave up.
Though we always fought like cats and dogs, I would always tell people that if I had half your
tenacity and strength, I will be fine in Life.
I will always remember how proud you were to be a Nurse, as you sang songs from the
School of Nursing, teaching us about neatness and posture.
Mum always called it as she saw it, no fakeness allowed, you took my husband as your son,
and he could do no wrong in your eyes but always warned me, “her child” to be good (lol).
I always knew I had a support system because you made us a priority and that transcended to
your grandchildren with whom you were very intentional.
They will miss you so much, the holidays, the moral values you instilled in them, always ready
to celebrate their birthdays and achievements even when we all did not want to. 24 Road A
close knew Holiday meant Grandma and her children will fill the close with cries, laughter, and
football. I still pick up the phone to talk to you, to tell you about their first day at school, their
experience, and their symptoms when they are ill but alas! you are watching from above as
their guardian angel.
You loved to pray and always taught us and your grandchildren to do the same. Your legacy
will live on, and your labour of love will never be forgotten.
Iye Gisanrin Rest in Peace from the pain and struggles of this world. Though it hurts, I choose
to celebrate your courage, strength, and tenacity. I choose to celebrate your kind heart which
you always hid behind your tough exterior so people would not take advantage of you. I
choose to celebrate Mrs. Roseline Abiodun Gisanrin, my mum who was truly my definition of
a Strong Woman.
Rest well o daughter of Zion. You are loved and missed.
Biola Kolawole Nee Gisanrin
25
Hmm, where do I start? My heart hurts and miss you every day.
MY mother A.K.A Mama Gis but I mostly call her Maa-Ma!!!! which symbolizes no-nonsense, strict
disciplinarian, and yes, she had to be since she was left alone to cater to five beautiful children. My
mother was strong, hardworking, brave, kind, simple, meticulous, and blunt to a fault because she
will speak the truth and doesn't hold bitterness to heart. My mother was a true and devoted Christian;
my lovely mother, my shield, my adviser, my prayer warrior partner, my friend, my confidant, my
travelling partner and my paddy of life.
She taught me to be the woman that I am today. “Contentment”, I learned from you.
I still find it difficult to believe you are gone and presently my guardian angel from heaven. It feels like
a dream that I wish I could wake up from and see you.
Countless times, the thought of picking up my phone and calling you to talk about my day or any
world event comes up but then, I remember you are now an angel and they don't speak to us,
mortals. It is hard for me to come to terms with not speaking with you.
An epitome of beauty, beautiful inside out your ways of showing love was different but you loved us
all and your grandchildren so deeply you could do anything to ensure that they are happy. I took pride
in knowing you loved and care for my children more than anyone could. You found ways of filling a
small house into a mansion of love, the way everyone would want to gather in Festac just to be
around you. Birthdays were special for everyone most especially the grandchildren who were
always there some days before the celebration, ensuring everyone gathered with a gift and making
the celebration special. Your gifts were well packaged and you always sprayed cash on all the
children during the dance competitions. Your legacy was love for family, support, and togetherness
which you hold dear.
My nurse, doctor, and pharmacist. Prayer warrior, information minister, legal adviser, and mentor
who will tell me to watch the news daily. You are indeed worthy to be called a mother because of the
truth- you are a mother and more, a rare gem with so much dignity, never will she allow shame to
come close around her or her family.
To her, family is everything, and togetherness she carries in high esteem.
The memories we shared are uncountable and I am thankful I have them. From childhood till date,
you have been my support system, always there by my side, in good times and not too good times.
We shared a lot of experiences together and this made our bond stronger.
Grandma, as I presently call you, although it hurts that you are gone but I find solace knowing you are
in heaven, in peace with your creator. Heaven gains a gallant soldier.
I LOVE AND MISS YOU EVERY DAY, I wake up several times at night grossing through the
memories we shared. Life is different without you because I didn't imagine you will go so soon.
Rest in peace my guidance angel and sweet mother, put the angels in heaven on their toes. Iya meto,
forever in our heart.
Ye Gisanrin
Maami
from Tosin Akinlolu Nee Gisanrin 26
My dear sweet Mother, my father, my ally, my adviser, my light at the end of the tunnel when there is
always seemed to be dark, your light still shines bright. The coat of my colours. Cicero says “To live in
the heart of those we love is never to die.”
If roses grow in heaven
Lord pick a bunch for me
Place on my mother's arm
And tell her they are from me
Tell her I love her and miss her
And when she turns to smile
Place a kiss on her cheek.
I appreciate the almighty God for bringing me to this planet through my darling mother, my ever-
radiant mother, selfless, caring, and incredible giver and full of love for Christ. You were committed to
the course of God every Sunday. You were the first to say “Tunde, you didn't go for service, if you
don't serve God, do you have another?” Can I fully capture all the epitome of godly characteristics?
Mummy your transition left a vacuum that no one can ever fill but memories of you are in my heart and
in the hearts of those who truly knew you. Mummy, you stood with your creator to the end despite the
prosecution and challenges of this wicked world. You fought different battles from your young age to
your last days and you conquered. You worked tirelessly for your children after the demise of our
Father, in it I learned great lessons, one of which is that life is very short, shorter every morning.
To the world, you were one person but to me, you were the World. You didn't have much but we
always felt like we had everything.
My mother was an inspiring soul, always there for people who come to her with their troubles, her
home was open to everyone, and her hospitality made them feel important. You taught me love,
patience, and endurance, you taught me how to pray and lead by example. You praised me
whenever I do good and point out my mistakes. You encouraged me to work hard and be self-
dependent.
I remember when you went to study at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife and I said to you, “Mum, you
are still going to school,” and you replied “I am doing this for all of you” now look I step into any
hospital and mention I am the son of an ADNS the atmosphere changes and I am given a VVIP
treatment.
I grew up knowing to be hardworking, strong, and diligent as I wonder where you get your energy
from, you will tell us “Mi o fe ibaje, nkan ti a fin ba omoje wa loja”. You supported all your children and
grandchildren, you never joked about their health since that was your field and specialty. I remember
you saying “God restore my strength, I don't want my grandchildren seeing me weak.” You were a
super fighter, you don't know how to give up or give in. When people offend you, you never mince
your words, and once you have said your piece that is the end of the matter for you.
Mummy, your death is a heartache that will never go away but your life will remain a constant
reminder that there is no greater way or ways to honour you than to be a better me in your voice "
Ranti omo eni ti ”se" and will reply “ mo ti gbo ma” just like the speech you made on my birthday when
you had a lot to say, I didn't know that will be the last time you will be jokingly addressing us ….
May your journey back home be smooth, I can only say Good Night and not Good Bye because we
will still meet again on the resurrection morning at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ.
From your Son Akintunde Abiodun Gisanrin 27
Growing up I would often hear my friends talking about their fathers and the great things they did for
them, I would sometimes get jealous as I lost my father at a very young age. Until one day I paid more
attention to all the things they were saying their fathers did for them and I realized that my mother did
all those things and much more. Mum was the rock that held our family together she had the strength
of a father and mother not only did she teach me to be a good person and inspire me to work hard, but
she also taught me the values of giving and helping others. I am grateful for having such a wonderful
mum and I will look up to her with so much love and respect for always.
From your son Olayemi Gisanrin
Praise be to almighty god for the life well spent of Mrs. Risikat (Roseline) Abiodun Gisanrin.
the wife of my dear brother has gone on a long journey of eternal rest to join her beloved husband
commander Babatunde Olumuyiwa Gisanrin who rested in the lord since 1988.
Without any gain saying, Iya Bimpe was a loving wife who devoted her life as a good mother to the
nurturing of her children, ensuring that they become responsible as they are today. By extension, she
remained a true family woman committed to improving the welfare of both the nuclear and extended
family members.
A Muslim by birth, she became a servant of the lord, joining Christianity after her wedding to the
Gisanrin family.

I am yet to believe you're gone but I just want to take solace in the fact that you're in a better place. You
were such an inspiring soul always there for people who come to you with their troubles. To the world,
you were one person but to me, you were the world. You were the truest, dearest to me and the entire
family as a whole. May your gentle, kind, and loving soul rest in perfect peace.

Grandma, as I fondly called you, I still can't believe you are gone. Though I will greatly miss you.
Heaven's gain really is our loss. I am at the same time sad and thankful. Sad because I wish you
were here. But I am thankful, thankful because I was blessed to have you as a mother-in-law, you
made everything easy. Thank you for treating me like a son every step of the way.
The kids are going to miss you. Sleep well mummy GIS. I know you are resting with God.
Wale Akinlolu (Son-in-Law)
She was an excellent grandmother to all her grandkids, and it was very sad to see her go. My kids
always look forward to going to spend the holidays with her.
She also taught them good values in addition to the ones we, their parents instilled in them.
Overall, she will be missed by everyone.
May her wonderful soul rest in peace.
Tolu Kolawole (Son-in-Law)
My mother-in-law is a wonderful, Godly woman who seeks to please the Lord in all that she does
and upholds her children and grandchildren in prayers daily. She has been a mom to me. I feel like
a daughter around her. She welcomed me from the very first day she saw me. Lots of sacrificial
love has been given by her over the years towards me since I became her daughter-in-law. You
were a precious gift from God to me. You touched my heart in so many ways. She put others first
and was always ready to help meet their needs. She realizes that she reaps what she sows so she
plants goodness. She upholds all of us in prayer.
I am so proud and so honoured to have called you mom. I will forever cherish your unconditional
love for me. I can't really explain how much I miss you. Oh Lord, you are our blessed hope. We
pray that your face would shine on my dear mother, who has left her mortal body. God of mercy,
we entrust her soul into your care and we ask that you grant her eternal peace in Jesus' name
Amen .

The love of my life has become an angel in the sky watching over us and protecting us from any bad
evil. I will miss you, grandma, till now I still can't believe you are gone, maybe you died physically but
you still exist in my heart.
Grandma, my love for you is special and no one will ever know the extent of this love. You have
shown me a place to be in life. You have shown me the bad and the good in the world which I will
never forget, you have taught me the difference between reality and fantasy.
I shall remember every little thing you taught me, you always told me to concentrate on my studies
any time we had a conversation.
You somehow changed our conversations to lectures and wise teachings. I don't really know how
you always did that and I would always laugh about how amazed I felt when you always lectured me, I
always loved it when you called me to play games with you when you were bored and how you
always smile at the end of a game when you win. I would always try my best to win but you always
won and teased us while we watched you celebrate.
I loved our evening strolls- the time you and I went alone, I remember when we crossed the main road
and I was so tired. I remember how you laughed at me; I remember it all. I loved when you laughed
and called out my name; it always brought joy to me.
I'm going to miss you, and will never hear your laugh or your voice ever again. I remember when you
would call me from my sleep and tell me to help you with your phone light and when I do it you would
look like I did a mysterious miracle, I always see you were just interested in a movie and I would put it
for you and when I advise you about your posture of sleeping.
I always admired that you were a nurse and this inspired my decision to be a doctor when I grow up. I
remember how you would call my name and start to laugh. I remember how I would always help with
your meds or tests. I would follow or stay with the children when you go out, we would follow you
anywhere because we would play. It was always a dance of joy when school ends and we would
come to your house and play for the holiday and always cry when school resumes.
I always awaited my birthday for you to give me presents. I always loved it and I am always happy you
will always be able to attend and now I'm going to have a space in my heart because you won't be
able to come again. I have always loved you and I will continue to love you.
From your only granddaughter Simisola Akinlolu
Dear grandma, it feels like a dream to me that you are no more, I remember when I was younger, you
used to help me, and you were always there for me. You always celebrated my birthday and bought
presents and congratulated me on my graduation day. It is heartbreaking without your presence; I
really wish you lived longer. I know you are in a better place, please rest in peace. Love you always

The past few weeks have been very difficult for us because the news of the passing away of our
dear Mrs. Abiodun Gisanrin left all of us in a state of shock. We fondly refer to her as “Aunty” being
the eldest among us all her cousins united by the same maternal grandmother, a role she
performed creditably well to every one of us through her exemplary leadership of honesty,
fearlessness in saying and upholding what she believed is right, faithfulness as a spouse and
loving mother with a good sense of responsibility in bringing up her children with good morals and
equally showing love to every one of us her cousin knowing fully well we looked up to her as the
eldest among us.
During her lifetime, she has been a towering figure, that is considerate, generous, and a rallying
point in her extended family, especially with her marriage to her beloved husband, Commander
Babatunde Gisanrin who equally loved and was a rallying point to everyone of us his cousins-in-
law. While she lived, every one of us was always welcomed to her home.
It is noteworthy that the relatively early passing away of her dear husband and the consequent
huge responsibility brought upon her did not dampen her courage as she glaringly persevered in
her determination to see their children well brought up, well trained, and well educated. It is our joy
that all these children who have now all grown up are by the grace of God doing well in their
various fields of endeavour.
Words are simply inadequate to convey the sorrow and intense pain we are feeling today. Instead,
we can seek solace from the fact that death is an inevitable experience for everyone, as fate
ordains that all humans will eventually pass away. We however believe that after death, all true
believers, irrespective of our religious beliefs, shall meet again in paradise to depart no more.
Until then, our grief at the sadness of her passing will be replaced by warm memories of a spirited
life.
May eternal rest be granted unto you our dearest cousin and may your beautiful, kind-hearted,
hardworking and persevering soul rest in peace. Amen.
All Cousins from Her mother's family
It came as a shock when we came to visit you in the hospital but were not allowed to see you to
say goodbye but l thank God for a life well spent since the demise of my dear brother. Thank you
for all you have done to our children l pray that God will grant you perfect rest Adieu Big Mummy
till we meet to part no more.

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile. If only I could have you back for just a
little while, then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do. You always meant so very
much. The fact that you are no longer here will always cause us pain but you are forever in our
hearts until we meet again. It broke our heart to lose you but you never went alone, for part of us
went with you the day God took you home. There are no goodbyes, wherever you will be you will
be in our hearts. Death took a special lady, and we thank the Lord above, you are more than an
aunt to me and more than a grandma to my children. We are blessed with your motherhood,
friendship, and love. You will always be remembered no matter what. Your presence, love, and
kindness will forever be with us. Rest in Christ until we meet again Mummy Festac.

My dearest Sister, almighty God will put you in his right hand in Jesus name, Amen. You are too
good, too nice to leave us now. Rest in peace
Aunty Adunni Nee Hassan
I met my dear friend Biodun Gisanrin (nee Hassan) as we knew her then at the Lagos State School
of Nursing as members of Class 1A of the school in 1968 and we became fond of ourselves,
We shared the same Vono bunk bed in the hostel. Being a taller person, she was sleeping on the
top bed while I settled for the lower bed. We hardly ever quarrelled and if we did, it did not last
beyond sunset. When the hostel was moved from Keffi Street to Catholic Mission Street, the
friendship continued naturally.
The relationship lasted the entire period of our student nurse days and continued when we
graduated as staff nurses, still sharing the same bunk bed at a one-bedroom rented apartment on
Oke Suna Street on Lagos Island.
Biodun was a woman of great virtue who focused on the upbringing of her children following the
devastating loss of her loving husband and was a very responsible mother indeed. These children
see me as their mother's blood sister. I seize this opportunity to thank them and their spouses for
the loving care they showered on their mother, especially during this sickness which eventually
claimed her life despite all efforts. I pray that they shall be equally survived by good children.
Biodun, my dear friend, I looked forward to your full recovery but the Lord giveth and the Lord
taketh as He considers right. We shall meet again at the feet of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
where we shall part no more.

Mama Gins,
I have lost you, my long-time bosom friend of many decades. When we met at Apapa Health
Centre (now General Hospital) in 1983 an unusual covalent chemical bond was formed between
a pharmacist and a nurse. This transformed into twins from different mothers - a tall one and a
short twin sister. When you relocated to Festac Town, the bond became stronger to include our
children. We were always together at home, in Church, and in all social functions.
You served our Heavenly Father faithfully with all your energy. Your activities and zealousness in
the Martha band of our church (Jehovah Emmanuel (C & S) Church) in Mebamu will never be
forgotten. You were a highly disciplined Soldier of Christ. A hardworking coordinator and a prayer
warrior.
Adieu my friend, my soulmate. May you find your rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Omolara Kolawole (Bosom Friend)
Mrs. Gisanrin has been a foundational friend we attended the same primary school Children's
Home School in Ibadan. She loves God and serves him with all her heart she is quiet and tolerant
but takes no nonsense. We celebrate our birthdays together; she comes to my house and sleeps
over. She is gifted with dreams, and we pray together to avert all fearful dreams this one that took
her happened because of age I can't drive, and she too could not drive we were only
communicating through the phone, but God knows best. Sun re o, we shall meet at the bosom of
the Lord adieu my friend.
Mrs. Adeoye (Childhood Friend)
I really do not know what to say. She was a good friend to me.
The last time I paid her a visit, she said "Mama Adijat I am going pray for my children, I did not
know that was the last time I would see her.
May her soul rest in peace.
Adieu my friend!

I was devastated when the news of your departure from this sinful world was broken to me. I can't
fathom your impact on the lives of anyone that comes across you. She is a disciplinarian

Mr Olowe
This is a special tribute to our beautiful, charming, and gorgeous sister, aunty, mum, and
grandma Mrs. Gins or aunty as I fondly call her.
She was an embodiment of love, selflessness, kind, supportive, and hardworking. A pillar to her
children and grandchildren and all those around her.
She was a figure of strength, resilience, and determination. She was a great believer and lover of
Christ.
Though your demise at this time is a great loss, we have no doubts in our minds that you are
conveniently seated at the right hand of our Lord Almighty.
Mama daada, Abiyamo tooto.

Mrs 'Dupe Onanuga
Within the short time I got to know the late Mrs. Rosaline Gisanrin, she had come across as a
highly disciplined and no-nonsense woman. She was also a virtuous woman who lived above the
board. Although highly disciplined, she was no less tender and compassionate. She lived a life of
dedication to God, her family, and the society in general. She was always full of love for everyone.
She was a brave and courageous woman who was never afraid even of death as she believed
strongly that death is not an end but a means to an end. She was a real fighter who fought till the
end. She was a true child of God who reverenced God and had implicit faith in Him. She was also
generous to a fault. A rare gem, she would be greatly missed.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Virtuous mother in Israel.
Dear grandma, I thank the eternal God for ordering my steps to meet you even as the step of a
good man is ordered by the lord.
Though I met you in pain, yet your spirit remains unbroken and full of effervescent exuberance.
Ever ready to show hospitality even in precarious moments. Grandma, how I wish the lord has
kept you back for me to know you more but who are we to challenge the eternal counsel of the
ubiquitous God from whom all things consist of whom through his divine magnanimity
appropriated time and years to all living.
Dear grandma, I remembered your incandescent love yet unflinching amid humongous travails.
Though my knowledge, of you, was brief yet highly voluminous, your faith in Christ was vociferous,
your love for God and humanity past the litmus test being stratospheric in nature.
Grandma, you are a virtuous woman, a woman of valour and fervent in spirit. Yours' was a life full of
wisdom, casuistry, and candour. The rock whose ways are past finding out will keep your precious
children and those of us that loves you.
Grandma, I know now you are fulfilling your higher calling according to the order of Sarah, the
mother of nations, being my mother in Israel, my occidental star, wingless cherub my ministering
angel, ascending and descending from the eternal throne of the El-Olam the everlasting God with
prayers for your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and those of us that loves you.
Rest in the bosom of the Lord grandma, Hosanna in the highest.
Pastor Obichukwu Cally
Mummy Festac, like everyone calls you, my childhood without you in it would have been
incomplete. You have passed on and now in a better place but the memories I have of you will
forever live on.
I can't but laugh now when I remember how you complained about my small, portioned food (I eat
a lot now) and how you made all my childhood Christmas the best I have experienced till date.
You lived a good life here on earth and now you have gone to meet our Heavenly Father where
you will live an even better life. Writing this in past tense still feels surreal. We will miss you and we
are thankful and grateful to have had you in our lives.
