OTOP Product (Saket Silk)

Saket is a silk fabric consisting of a silk weaving pattern
specific of Roi-Et. Within the same fabric, it has five striped silk
patterns woven in Roi-Et and a beautiful patterned of customers.
The traditional color of saket silk is that of the gray inthanin land
(pinkish purple), which is the provincial flower. Saket silk has a
lot of colors such as blue, yellow, orange, green, etc. Ban
Wailuem in Thawatburi district is a centre for Saket silk with
colorful and exquisite patterns. Villagers are live by making silk
cloth under a cooperative for marketing with a provincial. This
silk-weaving village has a housewife group for selling products.
Saket silk is a famous products and also part of the province’s
One Tambon One Product (OTOP) project. Ban Wailuem is 25
kilometers from Roi-Et on Si SaKet-Yasothon route. Saket silk
and the local handicrafts are sale at the provincial hall or city
stores.
