A very good morning to the honourable judges, teachers and friends. I’m Alyaa Damia and
I’m Izzatul Maisarah from SK Kundor going to recite a poem entitle “First time”, written by
Teacher Suvithra.
First time…
For the first time…

When I heard about you,
Honestly, I never expected,
We never expected,
The world never expected it too,
You would overshadow our life,
You would escalate into a global crisis.

Yes, for the first time when I heard about you “Corona virus”,
We never expected,
You would turn out the way you did,
Unfortunately, we were wrong.

First time…
For the first time…

We were trapped, } 2x
Waited and terrified, } 2x
Yet, nothing for the help. } 2x

Hundred millions of cases,
Millions of people died,
Those who are gone forever from their loved ones, } 2x
Are never going to come back, } 2x
We were wondering desperately,
Grieving woefully,
Yet, nothing seems to change, unfortunately. } 2x

First time…
For the first time…

Playground where we went around, } 2x
Empty to the surround, } 2x
Each moment we missed, } 2x
Won’t back like coin toss, } 2x
Yet, we fight, } 2x
First time, for the very first time,
Break the chain, for the change. } 2x

Yes, the enemy is invisible, } 2x
But our heroes are now visible,
We are distant,
But we stand together,
To overcome, to fight, } 2x
For our right in this tide.

We were stick together,
By staying apart,
In rain, in shine, } 2x
In gloom, we will bloom, } 2x
With the spirit we rise, } 2x
Yes, we will rise, }2x
We will rise together,
For the first time.
