Stretches

Calf Tag

• Objective: is to tag your partner’s calf, while defending your own calves from
being tagged.

• Description/ Rules: Students are split into teams, 1’s and 2’s. Each 1 gets a 2, this
should be their competing partner to get one another's calves. The first one to tag his
or her partner’s calves three times wins and can then challenge someone from the “
caution room. The losing partner goes to the “caution room” and pat there head
while rubbing their stomach until someone challenges them.

• Equipment: 2 cones
• Space Requirement: Gym space/ court area
• Time Needed: 5 min-Depending upon time it takes for a team to get other teams

calf.

Screaming Toes

• Objective: Select a pair of toes, when told to look up from circle your eyes have to
be in a different direction of other players, the minute of eye contact your both
scream (LOG) running to designated area and the last getting back to circle is out.

• Description/ Rules : Students form a semi- circle in the middle of the gym. All
students put their heads down and focus on someone else’s toes. On the instructors
command (3-2-1 heads up!) the students must look the person ( whose toes they
focused on) in the face, they must scream (LOG) and then run to any wall or coned
area, and back to the circle. The last student back to the circle is eliminated.

• Equipment: Cones

• Space requirement: Gym area or any flat surface area

• Time needed: Seconds per round

People to people

• Objective: is to match body parts being called out by instructor. Each time instructor calls
out People to people you switch partners.

• Description: Class arrange in a large circle formation, being partners with a student stand
to the left of them. Partners start by standing back to back. Instructor ( or student, if odd
number in class) calls out different combinations of body parts (2) that the class pairs must
make ( eg. Nose-to-shoulder, back-to-knee, etc.) When the caller calls “People-to-people”,
all students, including instructor (caller), must rush to find a new partner that’s they haven’t
been paired with yet. Any one left without a partner will be the new body caller.

• Equipment: none

• Space requirement: gym space half court

• Time needed: 5 to 8 min

Rock, Paper, Scissors Baseball

• Objective: is to get baseball on the other side of gym. Before reacting the other
side, the opponents from other side jump out and yell “baseball” to stop you, once
you are stopped you are to play paper rock scissors, the person who wins gets the
ball and continue to get to other side of gym.

• Description: Set cones across the gym from each other with two foot width space.
3 students behind 1 cone, facing their opponents, the 3 students behind the opposite
cone across the gym. First student with the tennis ball runs towards the opponents
cone (runner must run in a straight line), trying to score a point for his team by
crossing the opponents cone with ball in hand. First student from defending team
runs out to stop him in his path by getting in front of him yelling, “BASEBALL!”
When defender stops the runner, then they play “rock, paper, scissors’, with the
winner taking possession of the ball and running towards their opponents’ goal.
The loser of “rock, paper, scissors” runs back to his cone, while the next runner in
his team runs out to defend their goal.

• Equipment: Cones, and baseballs
• Space Requirement: Gym floor, full court
• Time needed: 5 to 7 min

Everyone’s It

• Objective: Students are to try and tag everyone, while trying to keep self from being tagged
• Description: As the game says, everyone’s “it”. All players rum around trying to tag other players,

while trying to avoid being tagged. If you are tagged, you must sit down on the floor. Players need to
keep track of who tags them because once this person gets tagged they can get up and rejoin the
game. The game ends when there are a few people left who haven’t been tagged. You can save
yourself from being tagged only if they are actually close to you by yelling out LOG, but you can't
freeze or stop.
• Equipment: None
• Space requirement: half court or full but players must stay in designated area.
• Skills Developed: Locomotor and non-locomotor skills (running, chasing, fleeing, dodging), agility,
cardiovascular endurance, spatial awareness, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Time: 5 to 8 minutes

Band-Aid Tag

• Objective: One tagger is to tag players. Once player is tagged he or she must hold or put hand
over the spot that was tagged. If un-tagged you hand is still in this place while running around
trying to keep safe from being tagged again.

• Description: One player is “It”. When a player is tagged he or she puts a hand (as a
“Band-Aid”) over the spot where “It” touched him or her. When the player is tagged a second
time, he or she places the other hand on the new spot. When he is tagged a third time, he or
she becomes it.

• Equipment: None
• Space requirement: half court
• Time need: Seconds per round of tagging players.

Pinnie Grab

• Objective: Players are to try and get both pinnes from any player who has pinnies at
their waist. If you lose both of your own, then you have to sit in that area until
someone runs by with pinnies and you can try to get them, this will include you back
in the game.

• Description: Each student tucks 2 pinnie into their pants. Students go around the
gym attempting to steal as many pinnies as possible. If a student loses both they
must sit down (and can get back into the game by grabbing one from someone who is
running around). Students cannot tuck them in too far, or use their hands in attempts
to protect a pinnie. This can also be done in teams of 2 with an accumulation of
pinnies at the end.

• Equipment: Pinnies 2 per person
• Space Requirement: Gym’s Full Court
• Time needed: Seconds per round, depending upon the time it takes to get one

another's pinnies

Skunk Tag

• Objective: Players are to keep safe from being tagged by skunk, if they are
tagged they are to run to center were skunk’s home is and yell “New Skunk
!” before tagging others.

• Description: All players but 2 are scattered in the playing area. Place 4
hula-hoops at the four corners of the playing area, which are safety zones.
Players can stay 20 seconds in a safety zone, or until someone else steps
into the hoop following them. Only one player is allowed in a hoop at a
time. Place one in the middle, which is the skunk's home. Designate 2
players to be skunks, and place them in the center to begin the game. On the
go signal, the skunks chase and try to tag someone. If successful, they
change places. The new skunk must run to the center hoop and yell "New
Skunk!" before chasing others.

• Equipment: 5 Hula-hoops
• Space Requirement: half or full court
• Time needed: seconds per round, depending upon how fast it takes :

“skunk” to tag a new skunk.

Amoeba Tag

• Objective: Players start with two linking together, theses two are to try and tag others.
Once they have tagged someone, that person must link hands also. The game goes so on
until everyone has linked hands.

• Description: Two people are it. They hold hands and chase people, the person they
catch joins the chain by linking hands. When another person is caught they can stay
together or spilt 2 and 2 they must split even numbers and can link together at will. This
game is played till' nobody is left.

• Equipment: none
• Space requirement: Half court
• Time Needed: seconds , depending upon how fast it takes for the two starting partners

to tag other players.

Back to Back Tag

Objective: Two players start together as “it” holding hands. They can only tag
other players with their free hand. For other players in order for you not to be
tagged you will have to find someone to be back to back with, for safety of being
tagged.

Description: Two people hold hands start off as being "it." They can try to tag any
other player but they can only use their free hands. When they tag someone, that
person joins onto them by holding hands. Remember, other players can only be
tagged with one of the two free hands. Players are safe from being tagged if they
find another player and stand back to back with them. They can stand back to back
and be safe for only 10 seconds before they can be tagged. The game continues
until everyone is tagged.

Equipment: None

Space Requirement:Half or full court

Time Needed: Seconds, depending on two starting players to tag other players

Mannequin Tag

Objective: One player will be “it”. “It” has to tag other players, once tagged they turn
into a mannequin. To bring player back to life another player must give the mannequin a
double high five. While trying to bring mannequin to life if you are tagged then you also
turn into one. So be quick to give the mannequin a double high-five.

Description: To begin, the players spread out within the open area. Players are only to
skip around from being tagged. If a player gets tagged, s/he immediately becomes a
mannequin.

To bring a mannequin back to life, another player must give the mannequin a double
high-5, but has to be quick from being tagged or that players will also become a
mannequin, but taggers cannot stand around waiting for them to finish.

Equipment: None

Space Requirement:Half or Full court

Time Needed: 5 minutes

Watch Your Back Tag

Objective: Is for you to tag as many people as you can without getting tagged yourself.
Description: Players are to try and tag as many people as possible.If you do get tagged you take a mental picture
of who tagged you and then drop one knee and freeze.When the individual who tagged you gets tagged you can
get up and start tagging again.Players must be honest if you get tagged to stop and take a knee.
Equipment: None
Space Requirement: Half or Full court
Time Needed: Seconds literally depending how fast one another can tag each other
