GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE I hope this message finds you well, and I want to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support and understanding as we strive to achieve excellence in all areas of KLGCC. Our commitment to providing premier service and the highest quality hospitality remains unwavering, and we recognize that there may be occasional shortcomings along the way. To ensure we maintain the highest standards, we welcome your feedback in any form, be it verbal or written. Your input allows us to address any concerns promptly and minimize any inconvenience to you, our most valuable members, and your guests. I am thrilled to announce that we have secured an exclusive arrangement with Fitness First 1 Mont’ Kiara for member’s usage while the Gymnasium is being upgraded with a new layout and equipment. This will provide our members with an exceptional gym experience. Recently, we faced an unfortunate fire incident in the Golfers’ Terrace kitchen. I want to assure you that our team is working tirelessly to restore normality, and in the meantime, we have introduced a temporary menu to minimize disruption. As we move past the lockdown, I am pleased to introduce tasteful new menus at all our Gastronomic outlets. Additionally, I invite you to enjoy live band performances at the Le Conti and Connoisseurs Lounge & Restaurant every Wednesday and Thursday from 8.30 pm to 11.30 pm. To make bookings, please call 03 2094 9888. We are committed to providing the best golfing experience for you, your guests, and visitors. In preparation for the exciting LPGA Maybank Championship in October, we have implemented a stringent maintenance program on both Courses, focusing on the Greens and surrounding landscape. You may notice slight discoloration and uneven roll on the Greens due to hollow tinning and top dressing. For golf enthusiasts looking to improve their game, I encourage you to visit the MST Golf Academy and work with Chris Connell. With his extensive experience, including training under the legendary Butch Harmon, Chris can help you perfect your swing and enhance all aspects of your game. To make an appointment, please call +603 20119188. To enhance the overall golfing experience at KLGCC, we have made caddies compulsory for all players. Caddies play a vital role in assisting golfers with various aspects of the game, thereby improving the pace of play and ensuring maximum enjoyment. Lastly, I urge all Members to register with the KLGCC WhatsApp (+6019 2636548) to receive daily updates on all activities. Thank you once again for your unwavering support and valuable feedback. Together, we will continue to make KLGCC an outstanding destination for premier service, hospitality, and golfing experiences. With Warmest Regards “Selamat Hari Malaysia” Steven Tan General Manager

KLGCC CAPTAIN’S MARCH MESSAGE Warmest Greetings to all Members as well as to your family and friends. It’s hard to believe that August is already upon us and in spite of the unusual weather, it is encouraging to see the growth pattern of our iconic Club. This is especially the case in our family related activities and I am proud that KLGCC is further establishing our role as the hub of the Community of which we are so happy to be a part. Once again, the July Monthly Medal turned out to be a truly enjoyable occasion, being played in the true spirit of our wonderful game. Whilst being competitive, the camaraderie generated shows what true “Clubbing” is all about and I am grateful to the highly professional Management team for all the hard work put in, which sometimes gets un-noticed and is taken for granted. Many Congratulations to all the winners and may I encourage everyone to participate again this month as well as those with a Handicap of 18 and below to participate in the Annual Club Championships that take place on 25th, 26th and 27th August following the Ladies and Senior Golfers competitions for those with handicaps of 24 and below, which take place a week earlier. Apart from the consolidation of friendships, there are a plethora of prizes to be won and we are most grateful to the Sponsors and other donors for their support. It is particularly pleasing to note the progress of the upgrading work being carried out of the very popular Gymnasium, with its new lay out and provision of a range of new equipment which will enhance the fitness of our many avid participants, several of whom are family Members and not golfers. Meanwhile we are most grateful for being able to maintain continuity through our temporary collaboration with Fitness First 1 Mont Kira who will also advise on a personalized programme for all participants, full details of which are available by contacting our Sports attendant at the Golf Counter or by calling +603 20119188 ext 446/162. For some time now, we have been concerned about slow play on the two golf courses and consequently we have recently introduced a new Rule which makes it mandatory for each flight to have at least one caddie. This will enhance the experience between golfers and their caddies, fostering a more efficient and enjoyable golfing experience for everyone, and I know the Management team would appreciate your feedback on this as well as any other matters for which you feel improvements should be made. With the LPGA Maybank Tournament only six weeks away, the Management team is working night and day to ensure our Courses and all facilities are in immaculate condition and whilst this will inevitably cause some inconvenience, I know I can appeal to your understanding and support during this important time as we expose the KLGCC to the international golfing world. Various activities are being arranged in the build up to the Tournament and you will all be kept informed on the KLGCC Website as well as the KLGCC WhatsApp :+6019 2636548 as and when details are available updated. As they say, “Please watch this space”. In the meantime, take care, Stay safe and Happy Clubbing “Selamat Hari Malaysia” Love thy club Datuk Syed Tamim Captain KLGCC HOW TIME FLIES

Many of the world’s best players use a constant ball position on level lie’s, only changing for specialist shots. Beginners and average players will benefit from a moving ball position depending on the club being used. Constant ball position is in line with your left breast or logo on your shirt for even lies moving up to left heel for driver. Moving ball position would generally be for wedges centre of heel’s, short to mid irons between centre of stance and left heel and the hybrids and fairway woods moving gradually forward toward the left heel for the driver. POSTURE This refers to the overall position of the body at address. Feet should be shoulder width apart for a standard shot with weight more on the balls of the feet to about 80%. The body should be in an athletic ready position, slight knee flex, Slight tilt forward from the hip joints, back relaxed flat and arms hanging vertically with chin up clear of the chest. When you are next at the range, or the course, pay more attention to your fundamentals, by adopting these simple positions consistently over time they will allow your golf swing to repeat. Always remember the spin factors of the golf ball through the air show up the weaknesses in your technique, which I guarantee will be related to one or several areas of your fundamental address position. In my 30 years of coaching golf from beginners to winners on Tour I have never taught a particular method or system, I work with what a player has and make it better so improvement can take place. But one thing I do teach to all my students is the principle of a correct fundamental address position. The swinging motion of the club and the movement of the body are directly affected by the fundamentals at the address position and almost all swings will be traced back to an individual’s address position. The way you hold the club, the way in which you position your body in relation to the ball and the way in which you aim the club face, will all determine the outcome of every shot you hit. GRIP A good grip is one which enables you to point your club face in the direction you are swinging it at impact, while swinging at speed. The club should be held primarily in the fingers with the hands relaxed, but firm enough to keep complete control of the club face. Grip pressure should be between 4-6 on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the firmest. To apply a neutral grip, the V between the thumb and forefinger of both hands should be between the chin and right shoulder for a right-handed golfer, with the palms of both hands equal and opposite to each other. ALIGNMENT BALL POSITION ALIGNMENT Club face square to the target line for a neutral shot with your stance and body alignments (feet, knees, hips, forearms and shoulders) parallel to the ball to target line just like a railway line. POSTURE A strong grip can be related to closing the club face on impact with the ball. This will cause a de-lofting of the club face, resulting in a lower ball flight with misses to the left of the target. A neutral grip will give you the best possible chance at impact of having a square club face. This will allow correct ball flight for all clubs and neutral spin, keeping shots more on the target line. A weak grip will have the effect of opening the club face on impact with the ball. This will cause an increase in loft, resulting in a higher ball flight with misses to the right of target. STRONG GRIP NEUTRAL GRIP WEAK GRIP
