GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE A TIME FOR REFLECTION AND CONSOLIDATION With the holy month of Ramadan already here and Aidilfitri around the corner, it is a perfect time for us all to reflect on the lessons of the past, consolidate the present, and plan for the future. Here at the KLGCC, please be assured that all management teams are constantly striving to eliminate any weaknesses and improve our service to members, guests, and friends at all times, whilst also ensuring that equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest possible standard. The exciting news that in October, KLGCC will once again be host to an international event in the world’s golf calendar that will inspire us all to even greater heights. While full details are still being finalised, the Maybank Championship will take place from October 26th to 29th, when the 78-player field will compete for a USD 3 million purse, which is one of the largest non-major championship purses on the 2023 LPGA Tour schedule. Please “watch this space” as full information becomes available and will be published regularly on our KLGCC WhatsApp Circular at +6019 263 6548. In the meantime, both courses are going through an extensive maintenance programme on a weekly basis, which will include some changes to Zoysia grass on tees, replacement of bunker sands, and improvements to all aspects of the two courses, from the tees to the greens as well as the environment itself. Due to renovation works, some of the tee markers’ positions will be joined together until new grasses are established. We are also in the midst of replacing some of the golf course machinery and irrigation system. We apologise for the inevitable inconvenience, but please be assured that this will be kept to a minimum and will result in a better golfing experience for everyone. It is also important to note that there is a special festive golf offer for members’ guests from March 23rd to April 30th. I am excited to announce that our new Korean restaurant, Qing He Gu, is officially up and running. We have been eagerly anticipating the launch of this restaurant and are thrilled to finally be able to offer our members an authentic Korean dining experience. From mouth-watering kimchi pancakes to sizzling bulgogi and hotpots, we are confident that you will find something to suit your taste buds. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, and we encourage you to come and try it out for yourself. I am confident that you will be impressed with the quality of the food and the service Sunday, April 9, was a special day for families with lots of fun things to do, like the annual hunt for the Easter egg and many other prizes. We hope both the kids and their parents had a good time. We hope you will join us again next year. Finally, please do not hesitate to contact me with any of your observations at any time should you like to meet up to discuss in more detail. “Selamat Berpuasa & Selamat Hari Raya” Steven Tan General Manager KLGCC

KLGCC CAPTAIN’S MARCH MESSAGE Dear Members, May I begin by thanking Members for the kind generosity shown to the family of M. Ramayah, one of Malaysia’s most successful and respected golfers who passed away last month. This is another example of the KLGCC being a genuine, caring, and sharing member of our community, and his daughter has asked me to thank you all on behalf of his family. It has certainly been a busy time in recent months, and there are even more exciting times ahead at the KLGCC! With the LPGA’s recent announcement that we will be hosting the Maybank Championship from October 26th through October 29th later this year, we will indeed have the eyes of the golfing world focused on our wonderful club in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. This is a true international acknowledgement of the capability of our staff both on and off the golf course, as well as being able to provide facilities and outlets to match everybody’s requirements that are second to none. Whilst we are rightfully proud of this recognition, it also comes with added responsibilities and the kind understanding of all our members, which is truly praise-worthy by the board and the entire management staff. We’ll do our best to make it easy for members and their families, who will benefit from the warm welcome given to members, guests, and friends. Please keep an eye out for the daily updates as the big day draws closer. Apart from necessary preparations for the Tournament itself, the Ground Staff has already been responding to Members’ feedback on course conditions and service with the introduction of an ongoing maintenance programme to ensure that your golfing experience is second to none. This has included a revised set of rules that apply to everyone who plays on our courses, with special procedures required for reasons of safety and health, with particular emphasis on the new red flag and emergency evacuation policies. Full details of these are available on the KLGCC WhatsApp at 019 2636548, and may I encourage you to save this number now if you have not already done so. On the gastronomic front, Dapur Ramadan is back at the Golfers’ Terrace, and I know that all the other F&B outlets have also prepared special menus for Members to break their fast with their family and friends. A call to +603 20119187 /189 will enable you to make a booking or order takeaway of the special Aidilfitri cookies. As the captain of our prestigious golf club, I urge all members to remember the importance of upholding our ethics and values. We must demonstrate respect, integrity, and sportsmanship on and off the course to maintain our standing as a distinguished club. I look forward to meeting you in the near future, but meanwhile, to all members, guests, and friends, take care, stay well, and “Selamat Berpuasa dan Salam Aidilfitri.” Love thy Club Datuk Syed Tamim Captain KLGCC A BEACON IN THE EYES OF THE WORLD
