GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE RECHARGING OUR BATTERIES Dear Members, I would like to extend my heartfelt wishes to all of you, your families, and friends on the joyous occasion of “Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri”. May this festival bring peace, happiness and prosperity to all. As we celebrate this festive occasion, I also want to take a moment to reflect on the challenges that we have faced in the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a difficult time, but I am grateful for the resilience and support shown by our members and staff during this time. Your patience, cooperation, and understanding have been vital in keeping the club running and ensuring that we can continue to provide quality services and facilities to our members. I am thrilled to announce that the KLGCC Family Fun Run Festival is returning on June 17, 2023. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with the East course selected as the track for the run. We have decided to double the length of the track this year to offer participants a more challenging and rewarding experience. We will also have a variety of food and activities planned for the run, providing the perfect opportunity for families to bond and enjoy the atmosphere. I encourage everyone to sign up as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss out on this fantastic event. Registration for the run will be open this month, so don’t hesitate to secure your spot. Following various requests from Members, the Golfers’ Terrace will also be reviewing their menu in the weeks ahead, so please watch this space for more details. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the recent Inter Club Tournament against Southwood GCC from Manila had to be cancelled, but I am happy to advise that the Club Championship is around the corner, and full details will appear in the regular WhatsApp updates on +6019 2636548, so please don’t forget to sign up. Meanwhile, please be assured that our Course Maintenance Team has introduced a stringent programme to ensure that both The East and West eighteen holes provide the best possible golfing experience for everyone at all times despite unpredictable weather conditions. Details are published regularly to update all members on the course conditions and we believe it is vital to provide the best possible conditions for the LPGA Maybank Championship, which will take place from 26th to 29th October when we will be welcoming and hosting international players and visitors from around the world. As we put the holiday season behind us and recharge our batteries, please be assured that the staff and I will continue to strive to ensure that we provide you with the highest possible standard of service and facility maintenance that you rightfully expect and deserve as Members of the illustrious KLGCC. KLGCC CAPTAIN’S MARCH MESSAGE Dear Members, I would like to wish you all Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and trust that it will bring good health, peace, and happiness to everyone. My congratulations to all the winners of the April Medal. What is most encouraging is to know that it was played in the true spirit of this magnificent game, with everyone enjoying the friendly but competitive camaraderie which proves that winning isn’t everything. Long may it continue, and please register now for the next occasion. May I encourage all Members to utilize the KLGCC WhatsApp 019 2636548, which is updated regularly and, apart from details of various activities within the Club’s premises, also includes information regarding nearby road closures and diversions as and when they occur. Of particular importance are the new rules regarding eligibility for playing on our two international courses, whether as a Member or as a Members’ guest. I must request everyone to read and digest these so as to avoid any possible misunderstanding while recognizing the need to speed up play and provide a truly enjoyable golfing experience for all. There are also details of the various Raya Offers available from all the outlets together with special succulent gastronomic menus, and I understand that the Banquet Team has prepared a range of packages for you to entertain family and friends in one or other of the locations at this festive time. I know that everyone will be awaiting details of the LPGA Maybank Championship, which KLGCC is proud to be hosting from 26th -29th October 2023. This will once again give KLGCC the opportunity to showcase our excellent and unique facilities to the many international participants and visitors from around the world. Word has it that the players have already marked their diaries as they are excited to once again have the opportunity to experience the warmth of Malaysia’s famous welcome and hospitality. We will keep you advised of developments as we receive them from the LPGA, but meanwhile, our thanks are due to the Golf Course Maintenance Team who are working night and day to ensure that the Course is in excellent and pristine condition for the use of Members as well as the Championship itself.
