GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE A BUSY TIME AHEAD – ON AND OFF THE GOLF COURSE May I wish every member Selamat Hari Raya Haji as we enter the month of July. For those celebrating outdoors, please ensure you stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and apply appropriate sun protection when needed. At the same time, I would like to alert you all to a scam that I received from +6017 9291134, claiming to offer special fund transactions to staff and members. This is definitely a hoax. Please immediately block the number and report it to our Members Relations Department at 03 20119188 ext 119. It is with great sadness that we learned of the sudden passing of Dato’ Mohd Zulkiflee, a long-time senior member and avid golfer. I join the management and staff in sending our sincerest condolences to his family. May he rest in peace. Despite the unusual weather we have been experiencing recently, there is still plenty of activity throughout the club. We have exciting new menus at all our food outlets, including special offers for the weekend such as the Ikan Bakar Buffet and Roast Beef at the Golfers’ Terrace, or Hong Kong-style Seafood at Victoria Harbour. As we ramp up preparations for the Maybank LPGA Event in October, there will be a concentrated maintenance program on both courses, which may cause some inconvenience to members, their families, and guests. We apologize in advance and promise to minimize these disruptions as much as possible. Please note that due to the LPGA committee utilizing the two “Chill out” Lounges and the relocation of the Kiara Physiotherapy Centre for the gymnasium upgrade, there will be temporary disruptions in service. KLGCC CAPTAIN’S MARCH MESSAGE Beginning on a sad note, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family of Dato’ Mohd Zulkiflee Bin Saleh, who passed away recently. He was a long-time member of KLGCC and an avid golfer. In fact, he had played on the morning of his death. He will be greatly missed. On a less somber note, may I congratulate the winners of the June Monthly Medal held last week, which was as popular as ever with friendship and camaraderie at the forefront. I urge all those who qualify to register for the July Medal and the Annual Club Championship, the details of which will be announced shortly. Selamat Hari Raya Haji to all members, families, and friends. I trust that everyone had a chance to relax and enjoy rendang, ketupat, and other delicacies, followed by a safe drive home. Whether as players or spectators, please ensure that you take necessary precautions against the unprecedented hot weather we have been experiencing recently. Water is provided in the golf buggies, and please remember to stay hydrated by carrying a bottle of water with you at all times while exposed to the sun. As valued club members, please also keep an eye out for others who may not be as cautious. Preparations are well underway for the LPGA Maybank Event in October, and I must ask for your forbearance with the serious maintenance program that has been implemented for the two golf courses and other club facilities. These efforts will have lasting benefits for all members in the future. This prestigious event in the LPGA calendar will bring many international visitors to KLGCC, and I know that you will all extend them the traditional and warm welcome for which Malaysia and KLGCC are famous worldwide.
