Congratulations to Celine Boutier for emerging as the champion and all players for their exceptional performances and world-class sportsmanship! The unforgettable showdown between Celine Boutier of France and Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul in a thrilling playoff, which tied for the second-longest in LPGA Tour history, had us on the edge of our seats. Boutier’s composure as she sank a crucial birdie putt on the ninth extra hole to claim her fourth tour victory and the coveted Tiger Trophy was nothing short of awe-inspiring. I would like to extend my heartfelt thank you to the heroes behind the scene - our dedicated KLGCC staff who worked tirelessly so that the event ran smoothly. The hard work in the preceding months have once again ensured that our beloved club shone through on the world stage. As we move on from another successful event, the course maintenance team has been hard at work preparing the greens for our regular players. I am delighted to announce that the course is now in impeccable condition and ready for all our Members and guests to resume their usual golfing routine. On the note of routines, I am pleased to inform you that all of our club facilities are once again open for your enjoyment, with a very exciting update in store. Our gym has recently been upgraded with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, providing a new level of fitness options for our Members to indulge in. As Deepavali approaches, I want to take this opportunity to extend my warmest wishes for a joyous and blessed celebration to all our valued Members. Their commitment and hard work greatly contributed to the overall experience. Led by Nizam, our devoted course team pulled an all-nighter at the club, working tirelessly to ensure the course is in pristine condition. From dusk till dawn, their dedication shines through, promising a golfing experience that’s nothing short of exceptional. Our F&B heroes, fueled by dedication, start their day at 3 am to craft a culinary experience that delights both players and the public.
The official tee-off ceremony, led by a member of the royal family and the Chairman of Maybank, marked the grand beginning of the championship. Throughout the tournament, we witnessed awe-inspiring game highlights, showcasing the incredible talent of the LPGA champions. The KLGCC team worked tirelessly behind the scenes, from setting up the course to ensuring that everything ran smoothly, allowing the focus to remain on the thrilling competition. Members of the KLGCC and the public were treated to moments of celebration, enjoying the event from the marquee and relishing the delectable offerings from variety of food vendors and food trucks.
