GENERAL MANAGER’S MESSAGE

“PROVIDING SERVICE THAT IS SECOND TO NONE”

We at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club are always striving to provide the best services
and highest quality hospitality to our Members and Guests. A plus side to our determination
is the possibility of being crowned as Malaysia’s Best Golf Course for 2022 in the upcoming
annual World Golf Awards. We are also gunning for the Finest Clubhouse title.

In order to achieve those titles, we will continue to provide and maintain premier service in
every department at KLGCC, to complement the highest quality of facilities and equipment
available for Members and Guests.

August is an exciting month for golfers who look forward to the Annual Club Championships
starting with the Ladies and Senior Golfers event on 13 and 14 August 2022. The cut-off
date for registration to this event is 7 p.m. on Sunday, 7 August 2022 so please do register
if you are keen to participate. This is followed by the Men’s event that will be held across
26, 27 and 28 August 2022. The cut-off date to register for this event is 7 p.m. on
Sunday, 21 August 2022.

I am happy to note that we are seeing an increased patronage at the Gymnasium and
therefore have opened a new entrance to the venue next to the pool registration as an
additional access point. We hope that this will provide more convenience to our
Members and Guests to enjoy the newly upgraded gym facilities.

There are new upgrades at the Golfers Terrace as well. Patrons can enjoy a comfortable
and relaxing atmosphere thanks to the newly completed canopy while trying the new
menu which now offers a wider range of dishes and snacks. Don’t forget to try our
mouth-watering Hainanese Chicken Chop or the succulent Weekend Roast that can be
booked in advance by calling +603-2011 9187.

KLGCC has always been a proponent of sustainable living and to promote the healthy habit
of recycling at the Club, we are working with KLEAN RVM to encourage Members to
discard recyclable items (while being rewarded) visit the spot next to the buggy storage
area at the West Wing.

A friendly reminder to those who are yet to renew their Membership Card as well as
to their Car Park Sticker. Please note that from 16 September 2022 onwards,
vehicles bearing the TPC KL stickers will not be allowed entry into the Club’s premises.
Do visit the Membership Office located at the East Lobby for Membership Card renewal
and car sticker replacement purposes.

Speaking of membership, we are offering the KLGCC Lifetime Membership to select Sime
Darby Property homebuyers on a first-come first-served basis. For more information

Dear Members,

Here we are yet again welcoming a new month and I hope that you have been
keeping well with your family and loved ones as we settle into the third quarter of
the year.

Firstly, I would like to convey my heartiest congratulations to our July Monthly
Medal winners for their exceptional performance and sportsmanship. I hope to
see more of such camaraderie in all our activities at the Club.

I hope that you have been paying attention to the welcomed changes at the Club
since our recent brand launch event. We have new menus, upgraded equipment
and a line-up of excellent events and activities to cater for our Members and
Guests. Do look forward to more exciting changes heading your way.

In the spirit of the Merdeka month, our golf department is introducing a special
not-to-be-missed Merdeka golf promotion. If you’re keen to find out more about
this, please call the golf department at +603 2011 1400.

And what is golfing without some friendly competition? Our annual club
championship is open for registration so do not miss out on this chance to become
the next club champion! To register go to our Golf Registration Counter.

We recently conducted a survey to understand your sentiments on the Club’s
Gymnasium, and we would like to thank you for your constructive feedback. Rest
assured that changes are coming to the Gymnasium and we look forward to
seeing you there more.

A friendly reminder to Members who are still using the TPC KL car stickers. Please
use the new KLGCC car stickers as vehicles utilising the old sticker will no longer
be allowed access to the Club.

Lastly, I would like to wish Selamat Hari Malaysia and Selamat Menyambut Hari

Khairul Azhar & Nurlisa Tie the Knot!

Khairul and Nurlisa tied the knot in a stunning event held at the Sime Darby Convention Centre Grand
Ballroom on 11 July 2022. The beautiful indoor ceremony featured a lush greenery-inspired décor with a classic

‘kampung’ vibe. Guests were serenaded by the melodious Gamelan music that added a soft touch to the
romantic event. The wedding was a perfect setting for the union of families and communities, immersed in
deep-rooted culture and customs. We wish the lovebirds everlasting joy and happiness in this new path in their

lives.

Congratulations to the happy couple! Friends and families of Tengku Ahmad and Janinah Koh gathered for their
marriage solemnisation ceremony that was filled with joy and laughter.

Held at the Sime Darby Convention Centre’s Grand Ballroom on 23 July 2022, the ceremony oozed an ethereal
vibe. The décor was kept to a minimum, with photographs of the lovely couple beautifully displayed amid lush
florals and wistful tones. Set against a beautiful backdrop, the ceremony exuded chic romance and a dreamy

atmosphere, and in just the right way to celebrate the union of two hearts.

On 11 July 2022, we hosted OCBC’s sustainability talk titled 'A Shift To Sustainability' at the KLGCC function
room. During the event, the organisation rolled out its sustainability plans with the purpose of helping

EAST COURSE HOLE 15

Some changes are being made to the existing marking at Hole 15 Green Island to make it more
friendly for play. As show in the drawing, these changes will still maintain the characteristics and
integrity of the initial design.

Explanations of the markings:
1.The front edge of the island green remains
unchanged as a yellow penalty area
2.The back edge of the island green has now been
marked as a red penalty area
3.The connecting bridge is an immovable obstruction.
Free relief under R16.1b.
4.Drop zone remains the same
5.The concrete retaining wall surrounding the island
green is an integral object. No free relief

Relief Options for ball in the Penalty Area.
1.If the player’s ball is in the penalty area, rule 17.1d
applies i.e:
•Stroke and distance relief.
•Back-on-the-line relief

(One penalty stroke)
2.Lateral relief (only for the red penalty area). When the
ball crosses the edge of the red penalty area, the relief
is:
•Two club lengths from the reference point.
•No nearer the hole

(One penalty stroke)

3.Drop zone is an additional option (one penalty stroke)

The above amendments shall be implemented with effect on Saturday, 30 July 2022.

REMOVAL OF
HAZARDOUS TREES

An assessment was conducted in February 2022 by Raintree Arborists for the
trees surrounding our golf course. This action was taken to assess and identify
structural defects of all selected trees, check overall health, inspect the signs of
pests infestation, disease infections and evaluate the amount of tree risk using
TRAC method. Below are the updates on the assessment and the trees removed.

76 trees were removed by the agronomy team and another 24 trees are in the
