Canton Parks and Recreation reserves the right to photograph/film program participants for publicity purposes including, but not limited to, social media, magazine, website, and local media. Refund Policy: Refund and Credit requests must be submitted in writing to the Canton Recreation Department. Refunds may take up to 3 weeks to process. A refund or credit forfeits the spot and cannot be transferred to another participant. The spot will be offered to the next person on the wait list. She is a mobile painting event company that brings the fun of painting to a space near you. It's an instructor led session on 11”x14” canvas with acrylic paint. All supplies will be provided to create a masterpiece! So put down the screens and pick up a paint brush!! Come paint the warmth of the holiday season with us!! *Class will be located at the Armando Center 6:00- 7:00pm. Students are grouped into teams and assigned a dungeon master, who will guide them through a fantastical world filled with monsters, treasure, and challenges. Students will work together to overcome obstacles and complete quests, fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork that will serve them well in all areas of life. Minecraft isn't just the world's most popular game; it's also an excellent tool for teaching a wide array of subjects. At Athena, we've developed a project based approach to a variety of important topics using Minecraft Educational; our course will cover the following: -Personalized Game Design -Animation and storytelling -Programming in Python and Javascript -Architecture and design -The fundamentals of electrical circuitry using Minecraft's patented Redstone circuit system -Logic gates, multi-system mechanisms -Modding At the end of each class, students take home a freshly minted 3D-printed model of one of their designs! Drama Kids is a developmental drama class that will include a wide range of activities that promote leadership, communication skills, & self confidence. Participants build a foundation of drama skills such as projection, articulation, dramatic movement, & improvisation. Make magic happen during group scenes then take the spotlight in an imaginative solo scene!

If you’re brand-new to chess, we’ll teach you the basics and get you playing right away. If you’re a seasoned checkmate artist, we’ll show you new ways to let your creativity show on the chess board. Engaging hands-on chemistry projects will encourage kids to be junior scientists. Unlock the secrets of the laboratory to create customized soaps, lotions, and potions. Explore how chemists create formulas and make your own cool products to take home. Learn about chemical properties and reactions while making fizzing potions and secret solutions. LEGO Engineering is more than brick building—it helps kids learn to incorporate parts that move of have function. This LEGO Concept program covers basic simple machines through the investigation of gears, pulleys, cams, levers, and ratchets. Kids learn by building working street sweepers, hammers, fishing rods and scales.

An American Academy of Pediatrics course that covers how to handle the basics of infant and childcare, how to react responsibly to medical emergencies and injuries, perform first aid for common childhood injuries and illnesses, and set up and run your own babysitting business. A certification of course completion will be made available. During each day, kids will learn and practice specific sets of exercises that will help them tackle the Viking Ninja Warrior obstacle course at the conclusion of each day. Athletes will find themselves leaping from the ascending plyo boxes, bounding between quintuple steps, and even scaling the wall located in our ENORMOUS obstacle bounce house! Fitness is made fun by supportive coaches who engage the participants ensuring everyone stays on task and improves.

This beginner tennis program will teach you the basics of tennis and get you started on your journey of this life long game. Our tennis programs focus on skill refinement as well as practice and match play to develop consistent, well-rounded tennis players. Each player is given personal attention and taught through repetition in an enjoyable, lively atmosphere. Skyhawks Sports tennis breaks down the fundamental skills of tennis through easily understood games and exercises to help improve the athlete’s overall coordination and technique. Players learn proper grips, footwork, strokes, volleys and serves during a series of drills designed to teach skills in a fun and dynamic way. In addition to developing a love for tennis, athletes will learn the rules and etiquette that make tennis such an exciting game to play. Due to limited court space, these programs fill quickly.
