ship is positive and student focused. We wish everyone an enjoyable “shortened” Spring Break. School will be
in session Friday March 14 and Monday March 17 to complete make up days from the ice storm in late January.
Upon returning to school from the break, we will be about the business of challenging students and preparing
them for the various assessments ahead. We encourage students to finish the school year positively. We be-
lieve a strong finish will promote a strong start to the next school year. We invite parents to contact us any time
they have a question or concern. I look forward to our next communication.
IT’S GREAT TO BE A DOLPHIN!!

Yours in Education,
Jason W. Weeks
Principal

Dear PTSO members,

As a layman, trying to figure out the ever-changing Florida standards for
public education is something akin to trying to pin the tail on a moving
donkey. Fortunately for Gulf Breeze High School, we have an administra-
tion that works to keep up with the legislative dictates from year to year.
Mr. Weeks, along with his staff, meet every challenge to be compliant
while still maintain the high standards and individuality of GBHS. It’s a
big job.
The PTSO’s goal is to support the students and staff however we can. We
are pleased to have awarded nine teacher grants totaling $1,667.25 this
spring. It is the most important thing we can do – supplement student and
classroom needs.

Looking forward, April 14th is Gulf Breeze High School’s Spirit Night
at the Wahoos. If you would like to join our block of seats, please let any
member of the PTSO know. Tickets are $9, and they are first-come, first-
serve.

If you have any questions or comments, please call me. I welcome your
suggestions.

PROJECT GRAD
SAVES LIVES!

Project Grad Saves Lives

Planning for the annual Senior Class Project Graduation is now underway, and we are once
again asking for your help to make this event a success. Project Grad is an all-night, super-fun,
substance-free party for our graduating Seniors immediately following the commencement
ceremony. It is planned and supervised by a committee of community volunteers, parents, Gulf
Breeze Police Officers, and the GBHS PTSO.

This event is funded 100% by the community. Even the smallest donation amount helps us pay
for the venue rental, transportation, food, T-shirts and entertainment. Over 200 seniors attend
this event and turnout grows each year! We have the highest attendance in the Tri-County area.
Our goal is to keep this program affordable for all seniors so even the smallest donation helps!

In addition to the celebration, Project Graduation awards scholarships. Last year, we awarded
$2500 in scholarships. Seniors who participate in Project Grad are entered into a random draw-
ing to win one of the many scholarships. No essays, no minimum GPA’s; they are simply re-
warded for making a great lifestyle choice by participating.

There are over 350 graduating seniors this year and we are once again asking for your help to
make Project Graduation a success. Tax Free Donations are now being accepted by mail or
online using PayPal at www.gbhs-projectgraduation.org. Graduation is May 24th this year! So,
making your donation before April 1 will give the volunteer committee time to plan the celebra-
tion according to available funds.

Every dollar is truly appreciated and goes directly to Project Graduation. The Gulf Breeze and
Pensacola Beach Communities have been extremely generous in the past donating to all school
events and we would like to thank those of you who have supported us in the past and thank
you in advance for supporting Project Graduation again this year. We would also like to give a
special thanks to the Gulf Breeze Optimist for their generous donations.

Thank you!

Chairman, Project Graduation

Wahoos Ticket Sales

Both the tennis team and the Diamond Girls are selling Wahoos tickets for the Monday, April
14th game against the Montgomery Biscuits. This night is GBHS Spirit Night. The face value is
$9, however, we are selling them for $10 for a $1 donation for each of the selling clubs.

Scam Advertisements

Coaches/Teachers/Club Sponsors,

Please be aware (see next page) of opportunistic and dishonest companies using our school’s
name and/or likeness to solicit bogus purchases and donations. The Gulf Breeze Chamber of
Commerce brought the attached example to GBHS’ attention this morning. If you catch wind
of another scam, please do not hesitate to get in touch with coach Kostic or any GBHS admin-
istrator. You all work hard enough at obtaining funds the right way and don’t need a predator
company taking advantage of our communities, sometimes naive, giving spirit.

Thank you,
