IMS External Audit 2023/2024 Successful Audit Completion by TUV Rheinland On 15-16 February 2024, Java Offshore successfully completed the Integrated Management System (IMS) External Audit under TUV Rheinland, a globally recognized leader in independent certification services. Undergoing an external audit by a reputable certification body like TUV Rheinland is a significant milestone for any organization, demonstrating its dedication to compliance, continual improvement, and customer satisfaction. The audit process itself is a rigorous evaluation of an organization's IMS implementation, assessing its alignment with international standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. This audit covers various aspects, including policy documentation, risk assessment, process management, employee training, and performance monitoring. Undergoing an External Audit by a reputable certification body like TUV Rheinland is a significant milestone for any organization. The audit took two days, from February 15th to 16th, 2024, covering both the Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur offices. Three auditors were designated for the task, with two assigned to the Jakarta office; Mr. William and Mr. Mulya, and one to the Kuala Lumpur office; Mr. Chandra. Following the audit completion, 3 minor nonconformities (NCR) and 9 opportunities for improvement (OFI) were identified. Kudos to those who went through this 2-days audit process. Alhamdulillah it was a success! It was determined that Java Offshore has significant room for improvement. The respective departments were provided with a designated timeframe to address the findings and submit the necessary documents to the TUV Auditors. Another follow-up audit is scheduled for the second quarter of the year, tentatively set for June 2024. This audit holds even greater significance as it will determine our eligibility for certification renewal. HIGHL IGHT J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 6 “

Business Planning Session 2024 Central to this initiative was the introduction of Java Offshore Group's new vision, mission, purpose, and values. These guiding principles, carefully crafted by the Top Management, serve as the compass navigating the company towards its future endeavors. However, before cascading this information to their respective teams, leaders were given the opportunity to internalize and embody these core elements themselves. Java Offshore Group leaders went on a transformative journey during a Business Planning Session (BPS) held in Puncak, Jawa Barat Indonesia from February 19th to February 22nd, followed by a concluding day on February 23rd at the Jakarta office. The decision to exclusively involve leaders stemmed from a strategic directive by the President, who recognized the essential role they play in shaping the company's culture. By gathering them together, the aim was to foster a unified understanding and mindset, laying the groundwork for a cohesive organizational culture. We have undergone severe hardship after the pandemic and since then, it has been an uphill battle to right our wrongs from the past. 2023 was a year that was very much focussed on turning around our Malaysian business and we are still continuing our initiatives to improve the business from a financial and operational standpoint. We are seeing the fruits of our hardwork come to realisation but we need to continue being vigilant and keep to our path of being the Survey Contractor of Choice. Whilst we have continued working on operational and financial improvements, I believe that we needed a new spirit and a renewed set of values that will define “who we are in Java Offshore” and as such on behalf of Java Offshore, I am proud to introduce a new set of Organisational Values that will represent us as a Company. These Organisation values have been introduced during the Top Management Business Planning Session (BPS) and will be socialised to the wider organisation in phases over 2024. In short, they are known as C.I.T.T.I., an acronym representing Customer First, Integrity, Teamwork, Trust, and Innovation. These values serve as guiding principles, reflecting our commitment to excellence in every aspect of our conduct with internal and external stakeholders. Your respective leads shall be engaging you on the above and I do hope to get all of your support so that we can rebuild and restrengthen the bond within the Organisation in order to achieve our vision. Lastly, thank you for your continued faith in Java Offshore and I am committed to making us stronger moving forward. HIGHL IGHT J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 10 Regards, Rizal Shah President, Java Offshore

WHAT DO OUR JO STAFF THINK OF: C.I.T.T.I.? We interviewed some of the BPS attendees to gather their thoughts on the new organizational values of Java Offshore. To me as a new-joiner, CITTI is good. It gives a fresh spirit to kick off and excel in being an offshore contractor of choice. Tinuk Setyo Rini From my standpoint, Customer-first values enhance competitive advantage by providing exceptional service, fostering trust, and building positive brand reputation. Prioritizing integrity establishes reliability and ethical behavior, fostering trust among stakeholders. Collaboration boosts efficiency, problem-solving, and conflict resolution, while innovation enables adaptation and growth in dynamic business environments. Nur Zulaikha CITTI ini bagus untuk Java Offshore especially Team Work. As a component of CITTI, this initiative can spark excitement. For example, in the BPS cooking class experience, my diverse team, with no culinary backgrounds, successfully prepared five types of Thai cuisine according to the judges' instructions, earning the highest score! “BE READY FOR ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.. ” How It All Began “The Crew” An unforeseen introduction occurred during the pre-mobilization meeting. Starting as strangers and evolving into a cohesive team, we achieved success in the geotechnical campaign. Through 138 days of shared joys and sorrows, we ensured the outcome met our standards of satisfaction and accuracy. The campaign consists of sampling, in-situ cone penetration test with pore pressure measurement (CPTU) and field laboratory testing. FEATURED PROJECT J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 17 I aspire to leave a meaningful mark on the future of offshore geotechnical engineering. During the project, I met many experts and inspiring people. I have gained a lot of knowledge from them, especially about the offshore geotechnical engineering industry. I am grateful to be a part of Java Offshore, and I aspire to leave a meaningful mark on the future of offshore geotechnical engineering. One of the challenges of working offshore is facing bad weather. Specific operational limits and guidelines are applied based on factors such as the type of operation, equipment limitations, and safety considerations. These limits are set to ensure that operations can be conducted safely and efficiently, taking into account factors such as wind, waves, currents, visibility, and other environmental conditions. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the first week of this campaign. I had a great experience onboard with the drilling crew, marine crew, survey team, CSR, and LO. I am looking forward to the next project!

M GRACE In the realm of maritime operations, ensuring the safety of vessels during anchoring procedures is paramount. However, the utilization of 4-point mooring anchoring systems, while offering stability and control in certain conditions, can also harbor significant dangers if not The Peril of Conducting 4-Point Mooring Anchoring of Vessel M Grace executed with precision and caution. This topic delves into the potential hazards associated with conducting and running a 4- point mooring anchor, using the vessel M Grace as a case study. Understanding 4-Point Mooring Anchoring The Case of Vessel M Grace Unforeseen Challenges include: A 4-point mooring anchor system involves the use of four separate anchors, typically positioned at the bow and stern of a vessel, providing stability by distributing the forces evenly. This setup allows vessels to remain stationary in open water, facilitating various offshore activities such as drilling, construction, or loading/unloading operations. 1. Environmental Factors: The unpredictable nature of the marine environment, including strong currents, turbulent waves, and sudden weather changes, can significantly impact the stability of a vessel under 4-point mooring. The M Grace faced unexpected weather patterns, leading to increased strain on the anchoring system and potential instability. DISCOVER MARI T IME J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 19 Vessel M Grace, renowned for its versatility and capacity, encountered a series of challenges while utilizing a 4-point mooring anchor system during an offshore operation. Despite meticulous planning and experienced crew, unforeseen circumstances unfolded, highlighting the inherent risks associated with this anchoring method. 2. Equipment Malfunction: Even with regular maintenance and inspection, equipment failures can occur, posing grave threats to vessel safety. In the case of M Grace, a critical component of the mooring system experienced a malfunction, exacerbating the vessel's vulnerability to external forces. 3. Human Error: Despite adherence to established protocols, human error remains a persistent risk factor in maritime operations. A momentary lapse in judgement or misinterpretation of situational cues can precipitate catastrophic consequences. In the case of M Grace, a miscommunication among crew members during anchoring procedures resulted in a deviation from the intended course of action, amplifying the risk of accidents. EMBRACING THE JOURNEY How I Overcome Challenges in a New Work Role “New role initially sparked excitement, but reality often diverges from our expectations..” Over the past decade, I have been an integral part of the reporting geotechnical team. My journey began as a Geotech engineer, and I gradually advanced to the position of senior Geotech engineer. Most recently, I served as the Quality Control Lead for Offshore Data Acquisition. My work primarily revolved around geotechnical knowledge. In 2019, I received a promotion to the role of XSOIL Lead at XSOIL LAB SDN BHD (formerly known as AG Fielab Sdn Bhd). XSOIL specializes in soil laboratory testing, an area slightly beyond my original expertise. The transition to this new role was met with excitement, but reality often diverges from our expectations. COVID-19 Impact XSOI L JOURNEY J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 24 Here have summarized some of my experiences and the typical hurdles encountered when transitioning into new roles. These challenges can be grouped into three main categories: skills, mindset, and stakeholders. Doing it Myself Focusing on Objectives / KPI Developing new competencies and skills 1. Be prepared to adjust 2. Don’t be afraid to learn Focusing on creating impact 1. Accept mentors Move to thinking and making decisions in terms of cross business measures 2. Doing it all through teamwork 1. Be prepared to adjust 2. Don’t be afraid to learn

“..maintaining a positive spirit and guiding my team toward strength remain my priorities.” As a Geotechnical engineer, my primary focus was delivering qualitative results. However, in my role at XSOIL, I’ve had to develop new competencies and skills. It’s essential to be prepared to adjust. It’s not just about technical work; I now need to focus on leading others. Don’t be afraid to learn. With every new role, there’s a gap between our existing skills and the requirements of the position. I’ve learned to take responsibility for and collaborate with other areas outside my expertise. As a leader, relying on a single core skill set isn’t enough—I need to be multifaceted by building different leadership skills and styles. As a geotechnical engineer, my major focus was on objectives and KPIs related to completing reports. However, at XSOIL, I need to shift my focus toward creating impact. Leadership transitions always bring uncertainty. This involves continuous initiative and a clear vision. Building strong relationships with my team is crucial. I setting a positive tone and fostering an open culture from the outset. While for myself, I’ve accepted two mentors (Weng Kai & Denny) as my support system. Shifting from a tactical focus to strategic planning is vital. I now consider crossbusiness measures such as profitability, sustainability, competitive advantage, and global trends. Adopting a longer-term perspective helps shape our decisions. In my previous role as a geotechnical engineer, I could handle and complete reports independently. However, at XSOIL, teamwork is essential. Developing and maintaining a positive mindset is crucial. I set my sights on the target and prepare my mind to focus on opportunities. As a leader, I express vulnerabilities by opening communication channels with my team. Encouraging them to ask questions, share ideas, and solve problems fosters a collaborative environment. And remember to have fun! Taking new opportunities means embracing change. Wear a smile and strive to make the best impression possible. STAKEHOLDERS MINDSET SKILLS Small companies like XSOIL provides an excellent environment for learning and personal growth. As I enter my fourth year at XSOIL, I’m still exploring my path. NAVIGATING TWO CHALLENGING YEARS IN THE HSE DEPARTMENT By Dessy Arumsari, Senior HSE Executive 1. Significant Turnover Across Departments Throughout 2022, the Jakarta Office experienced the departure of one Lead from the HSE Department. Subsequently, in the following year, the Kuala Lumpur Office encountered the loss of three Leads along with other team members. This trend suggests underlying issues within the department. High pressure amidst evolving client needs There are no clear job descriptions. The roles are divided into GP and GT for HSE Executives, but there's no real difference between GP and GT, as most instructions come from the client Lack of motivation. 2. Lack of clear handover from previous staff has resulted in insufficient guidance for the HSE Department in managing their tasks. JO CREW J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 34 Working in the HSE Department, we need to learn a lot about HSE itself and technical as well. We are required to have problemsolving skills, fast learning, passion, and flexibility. “ Obstacles encountered by the HSE:

3. The HSE server was disorganized and poorly maintained, leading to difficulties in locating documents, particularly those from 2015 to 2021. The disorderly state of the servers has resulted in several impacts: Searching for documents takes a long time Security and confidentiality of documents is not guaranteed Many versions of the document has been circulated As a result, we needed to work overtime to organize and remove unnecessary documents from the HSE servers in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. 4. Being the youngest senior in Jakarta, initially, it's challenging to collaborate with other departments and safeguard the teams. However, sooner or later, we all work for the same company and strive to maintain professionalism. JO CREW J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 35

JO CREW J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 36 The leader must have a strategy to create the job description for the team. We started in the Jakarta Office where each HSE Executive rotated the job description every 6 months. We tried to attempt it in 2023, and it was running effectively and efficiently. 1. Consistently monitoring and supervising the team to enhance motivation. Providing clear challenges to prevent periods of monotony and boredom. 2. Stay current with the latest ideas and innovations when establishing the HSE Objectives & Targets annually 3. Highly utilize the new tools a.k.a smartsheet for future updates of the data. 4. Appreciation to the entire Java Offshore team: I express our gratitude to all staff members for their consistent enthusiasm and dedication to invigorating the HSE Program, both in the office and on-site, throughout the year. We have never witnessed anyone disregarding our efforts. This demonstrates a commitment to self-care. Prepare & prevent instead of repair & repent. “

What' s the best advice you ' ve ever heard? Read this edition’s Employee’s Perspective on: 01. This advice emphasizes the importance of passion and enjoyment in one's work. When people are genuinely passionate about what they do, they are more likely to put in the effort, stay motivated, and achieve success. While not everyone may have the luxury of pursuing their absolute dream job, finding aspects of your work that you enjoy and are passionate about can contribute significantly to personal satisfaction and success. Real-life examples supporting this advice can be found in various aspects of life; Career Development, Personal Relationships etc. "The only way to do great work is to love what you do." - Steve Jobs Do you follow this advice? Nur Ashiqin, HSE Executive In terms of Health and Fitness, as someone who cannot stand a week without engaging any outdoor activities, I strongly believe that balancing work and sports is crucial for overall well-being, as it helps to maintain physical health, reduces stress, and enhances cognitive function. Engaging sports after work might be tiring but it is FUN! It helps to prevent burnout and maintains a sense of fulfillment in both your professional and personal life. Additionally, outdoor pursuits provide superb social connections. I can say that majority of my mutual friends are those who shared similar interests and create a supportive network! So… Do what you love, Love what you do ❤ EMPLOYEE PERSPECT IVE J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 37

02. Other than the fact that I love citrus drinks, the quote keeps me going ever since for the past 7,369 days (do the math). A simple recipe by adding a sweet element to the sourness of the fruit, turns out to be an enjoyable beverage. It may not be everyone’s favourite, but some people love to add a little zing to their life. Anyway, back to the topic. “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” Farah, Tender & Commercial Executive I grew up with a constant reminder from my parents (love them, to the core) to always look for good things in any situation. The easiest I can relate to is dealing with people. It’s a known fact that people can be unpredictable and influenced by their surroundings. There are days we can accommodate to people’s needs and well of course there are days we’re unable to. The least we can contribute is to serve without expecting anything in return. I do believe that the key here is contentment. Because at the end of the day, our true reward will be in our next chapter in life, the hereafter. Life is too short to dwell in a cocoon of unhappiness. Make yourself a lemonade and get that vitamin C(heer)! The quote says it all – to look for positivity at times of hardship. We, as human beings, have been through colourful events in life and rollercoaster rides of emotions. Be it sadness, frustrations, disappointment, etc., but as cliché as it may sound, the grass is always greener on the other side. 03. I got this advice from my good friend. She helped me a lot to start my journey as HSE practitioner. Honestly it was like a miracle that she was sent to me to answer all of my prayers. Of course, in return, I sent her thankfulness and gratitude for her kindness that has saved me. And she only replied with this advice, “Keep learning and spreading kindness!”. In remarks, she hopes that this does not stop in me. “Keep learning and spreading kindness!” Tinuk Setyo Rini, HSE Executive So, I would love to share this story here! May this spirit persist and thrive within us. Amidst our hectic schedules and demanding work, let's take a moment to reflect and ask ourselves: “What have we learned, and have we spread kindness today?” EMPLOYEE PERSPECT IVE J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 38

04. The greatest source of strength in my life is my family, yet there is one individual who teach me how to survive and fight forever, is My Father. Because he said “The best treasure I have is not about material things but family values, love, enthusiasm, and being able to see my children succeed”. For me, my father is a strong person and has so much love for his children. He is an encouragement for me in living my days to the fullest. In whatever work I do, I always involve my father. He always has a way so that his children can fight and get achievable results. So, i promise to myself, i will make him happy and also proud of my hard work. I think that’s all about my opinion. I hope this sentence can be used not just for me but you guys too. Thank you “The best treasure I have is not material possessions but rather the values of family, love, enthusiasm, and being able to see my children succeed.” Mesa Namira, Accounting Executive EMPLOYEE PERSPECT IVE J O INS I G HT 7 1 P. 37

SHUTTLECOCK SHENANIGANS #javasmashers Almost every week, Java Offshore staff together with our top management at both offices in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur eagerly anticipate the opportunity to unwind and engage in friendly competition on the badminton court. As everyone worked up a sweat and share laughs on the badminton court, they also gain valuable opportunities for networking and relationship-building outside the confines of the office environment.
