Region’s biggest tile manufacturer By Edward Mukaro
joins ZBCA
THE Zimbabwe Building Construction As-
Export-ready tiles from Sunny Yi Feng Tiles sociation (ZBCA) has welcomed South-
ern Africa’s leader in porcelain and ce-
ramic tiles manufacturer, Sunny Yi Feng Tiles
(Zimbabwe) into its family, as the construction
sector gears up to revamp its contribution to
the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP).

The inception of the Zimbabwean based Chi-
nese manufacturer into ZBCA dovetails with
calls by President Emmerson Mnangagwa for the
construction sector to play its part in rebuilding
the country’s economy given the vast business
opportunities and room for growth in the sector.

Currently, Sunny Yi Feng Tiles employs
about 1 800 employees, who come from the
community surrounding the firm and other
areas where the firm sources its raw materi-
als, like in Hwange, Chegutu and Makonde.

Speaking in an interview with The Business
Connect, Sunny Yi Feng Tiles public relations
officer Abel Mukumba expressed excitement at
the prospects of the tile manufacturer joining
the ZBCA as it opened avenues of expanding
the corporate’s market base, while also shed-
ding light on the various misconceptions that
might have trended about the firm in the past.

“It will give us a big platform to
make our clients have a better appreci-
ation of our production”said Mukumba.

The tile manufacturer is currently 60 per-
cent (%) of its product, while 40% is be-
ing channeled to satisfy the local market.

Sunny Yi Feng Tiles was established by Shanxi
Yang Fan Logistics Ltd in early 2018, in Zimbabwe,
and was granted National Projects Status in October
2018. The firm’s plant spreads over 100 hectares of
land and has a total investment of US$1 billion.
