TECHNICAL TRAINING EQUIPMENT RICHIE GRAY

Richie Gray is Rhino’s international ambassador and specialist skills coach
which sees him deliver specific skills sessions to clubs and countries globally.
In 2013, Gray became an assistant coach to The Springboks for The Rugby
Championship and Northern Hemisphere Tour, concentrating on the attacking
and defensive breakdown/collision area and worked with The South African
national side through to the RWC 2015. Gray also carried out all the contact
skills work for The Blitzbokke South Africa Sevens team from 2013 to 2016.
Gray then joined his native Scotland and was their contact skills consultant in
2016 and 2017, involved in two Six Nations Tournaments and the November Test
Series in 2016. He also worked in the NFL with The Miami Dolphins, developing
high performance skills programmes relating to the whole
tackle area. Gray is now the contact/skills coach at
Montpellier Herault Rugby in the French Top 14.
He is regarded, through his innovative work with specific
technical training equipment for Rugby Union, Rugby
Leugue and Global Collision Sports as one of the
foremost thinkers of coaching methods relating to
the tackle, breakdown and collision area.

Now fitted with the hydraulic wheel system, the Rhino Dictator is a robust steel sled with four SPORTS LEISURE

OPTIONAL RHINO DICTATOR BINDING PADS

The ‘Crouch, Bind, Set’ scrum engagement sequence places
a lot of importance on the way props bind and Rhino have
a couple of options to enable players to practice this within
scrum training.
The Dictator scrum machine comes with steel loops on the
tighthead and loosehead pads as standard that enable a
range of bind grips to be practiced. There is also the option to upgrade to binding pads which
consist of foam pads lined with rugby shirt material that encourage players to work to get
a good bind as they would in the match. Binding pads can be installed onto new machines
being purchased or existing machines can easily be upgraded by purchasing replacement
pads or sending existing head pads in for exchange.
