The Fire

There was smoke in the air with fire on the power line.This is
how it happened.

It wasThursday afternoon and me and my grandma were in the
living room watching TV.

“We have to go to get Wyatt off the bus,” said my grandma
Mimi.”

“We do?” I said.
“Yes or we will have to go to his school and get him, or he will
be worried about us.’’
“Ok. I guess we can go down the sooooper long driveway,” I
cooed.
So we started to walk down the long driveway to the bus.
”I smell something funny,” mimi said worriedly.
Some time later Wyatt’s bus came.
“Hi Wyatt,” we said together at the same time.
“How are you doing?” I asked.
“Amazing! How are you?’’ Wyatt said.
“Good. Harrison and I watched TV today,” Mimi said.
“Lucky. At least I had gym today,” Wyatt said.
‘‘It smells weird.’’Wyatt said a little scared.
‘‘You smell it too?’’ Mimi questioned.
We were halfway up the driveway.
We started to look around and saw what the smell was. Wyatt
looked up and saw the power line on fire.
‘‘Ahh!!” Wyatt yelled. “Look, it's on fire.”
“What's on fire?!” Mimi asked.

“The the power line is on fire!! Call the fire department!’’ Wyatt
exclaimed.

“I am. I am,” Mimi said.
Some time later the fire department came.

“Hi. What's wrong?’’ the cop asked.
“There is a fire on the power line,’’ Wyatt said politely.
“Ok. I will call the fire department,” said the cop. About 5
minutes later the fire man and more cops were there.
First they started to talk about it, and then they got to work.
Then mom came.’’Hi, Mom how are you?’’ I asked.
“How are all of you?” Mom asked.
“Fine,’’ I said.
“Why are there firemen and policemen here?’’
When mom said that the firemen and policemen came over
and said, “We fixed the power line.”
“It got hot so it caught on fire,” one of the firemen explained.
“We are done so we are going to leave.Have a good day,” the
policeman said.
“Ok,” we all said.’
Mimi said, “We should go up. It is getting dark.”
“Ok,” we all said. Thankfully we got inside and Mimi sat down
and started to tell the story to Mom and Zach.
I sat there thinking how lucky I am that Wyatt was there to save
the day.
