The Vase

Personal Narrative

By Shaina

l was at the dinner table and I yelled,
“Mmmmm so ...I think we should go to the mall.”

My mom told me, “Okay.”
Then I screamed, “YAYYYYYY!”
So we went to the mall to get a vase for my
flowers.
When we got there, we looked at all of the
vases. As we were looking through the third store,
we found one.
My mom was excited a whole lot. After that, my
mom took it. Mom yelled, “We are buying this
vase.”
So… we bought it! After a while I wanted a
drink of water.
“Can I get a drink of water?” I asked my mom.
“Sure,” my mom answered, and we walked
over to the water fountains. The vase in my bag.

When I leaned over to get a drink, I dropped
the vase!

”Shaina, we have to go back to the store!” my
mom said. So we ran back! She looked at all the
vases, but there no more vases left that she liked.
She asked the lady, “Do you have any more vases
in the back?”

The lady said, “No, we ran out.”
I started to cry because I felt bad that I broke
my mom’s vase.
The lady let my mom get her money back, so it
made me feel better. She also said that we could
go back later and more vases might be on the
shelves.
Then my mom told me, “Since you’ve been
running around with me, I’ll buy you a doughnut.”
We went to get the doughnuts and later on went
back to the store.

When we got there, the lady at the store was
just about to close up, so we couldn’t shop.

The next day, we went back to the store. There
was one vase left, but somebody was holding it.
The person holding the vase could tell my mom
wanted it and asked, “Do you want this vase? I’m
just looking at it.”

My mom said, “Yes! Please!” and grabbed it
out of the lady’s hands.

Then we bought the vase and brought it back
to the car. We got it home safely.

Later that night, I said to my mom, “Well, now
we can put it on display in our own house.” I said
to myself, “Well that was a crazy day!”
