The Dryer

“Beep!’’ went the game on my phone.
I was playing Subway Surfers and
suddenly I smelled smoke. I was scared
and about to call out for my dad
because I thought my stove was still on.
Then I saw smoke coming from the
laundry room and realized it was my
dryer! I still yelled to my dad who was
upstairs in his room.

“What is it?” my dad yelled.
“Our dryer is smoking!”
My dad came right down to the
laundry room and turned off the dryer. It

stopped smoking. He called my mom.
She was at my sister’s practice.

Then my dad told my mom to go to a
store and get a fire extinguisher on her
way home.

My dad also called a repairman to
come fix the dryer.

About an hour later, my mom came
home.

Mom handed the fire extinguisher to
my dad and said, “Hopefully, we will
never need this, but it’s good we have it
now.”

My dad said, “Joey really helped me.
He yelled as soon as he knew
something was wrong.”

The next morning I woke up from a
noise

When I got downstairs, I saw a man
and our dryer was being fixed.

I hope we don’t want to use that fire
extinguisher!
