Currently she is a Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Language Studies, in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), where she teaches postgraduate courses in Applied Linguistics. She currently is heading the Risk Management APB team, the committee for Language skills course, Entrepreneurship Internationalization, Collaboration & Industry network Research grants, Writing & Innovation. Her teaching career began as an English teacher in a government school in Malaysia followed by English lecturer in a few colleges. Her area of interest includes TESL and Applied Linguistics. She has published journals indexed in Scopus and has also completed a number of research grants. She is also the editor and translator certified by the Malaysian Institute of Translation. She has also presented papers in international seminars and conferences where she has delivered a few sessions as Keynote speaker and panelist and helped to organise a number of conferences.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY H A F I Z A Z H A J I M I A My teaching philosophy centers on student-centered, selfdirected learning that promotes creativity, innovation, and introspection. I firmly believe in the power of constructivism, cultivating an atmosphere where students actively construct their comprehension through active participation and teamwork. This approach not only fosters knowledge but also hones critical thinking abilities that extend beyond the classroom. I try to incorporate Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Experiential Learning & Competency- based Educational landscape in my teaching practices.
TEACHING GOALS H A F I Z A Z H A J I M I A My teaching objectives encompass equipping students to tackle real-life challenges, instilling sustainability values, nurturing a passion for learning, empowering students to take charge of their education, and fostering critical thinking skills. I aspire to foster a vibrant and inclusive classroom environment that promotes collaboration, imagination, and the exchange of diverse perspectives by employing EXCEL framework (Engagement, eXpertise, Communication, Empowerment, and Lifelong Learning) to guide the implementation of peer learning initiatives. By emphasizing the practical application of knowledge and adapting to individual learning styles, my goal is to assist students in becoming lifelong learners who are wellprepared to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
