TEREDO FURNITURE RANGE

OUR STORY

Tunneling clams (Teredos) create intricate patterns in waterlogged
timber, which is crafted into masterful works of modern furniture.

The Teredo Range of products is the first product line of LivvHome and is a first
worldwide. Teredo lumber is milled from reclaimed logs called boomsticks that
were used to contain and surround log tows in the waters of Puget Sound, the
Columbia River, and British Columbia. These boomsticks, usually Douglas fir or
Hemlock, spent most of their 20 to 60 year working lives in saltwater, and were
therefore an ideal habitat for Teredo clams (often called shipworms). Teredos,
are prolific tunnel-borers resulting in phenomenal patterns in the lumber once
the logs are milled.

Vancouver BC based LivvHome has perfected the art of filling the reclaimed
Teredo lumber with a glow-in-the-dark epoxy to help showcase these phenom-
enal natural patterns. In turn, we combine our reclaimed, epoxy-filled works of art
with high-end materials such as marble and metal, to create masterful and
unique modern furniture. Our bookmatched sets of Douglas fir and Hemlock
boards have unique mirror-imaged patterns and are used to make tables,
cabinet doors, counter-tops, doors etc. The creative opportunities are endless
with our Teredo product.

LivvHome offers a limited range of custom-made furniture for sale that can be
viewed on our website (www.livvhome.com). In addition, we also supply our
reclaimed epoxy-filled lumber to furniture makers, designers, architects etc.,
so that they can create their own works of art. Each piece is unique, so it is best
to contact us to discuss your specific needs.
