Students & Staff of the month Emma Harris is the freshman of the month. She has been going to school at Arp her whole life. Her biggest inspiration is her mom because she does so much for her. After high school, she would like pursue a career in physical therapy. Her favorite subject in class is math because there are so many different ways to get to a solution. Madelyne Eaton is the junior student of the month. She has attended Arp her entire life. Her biggest inspiration are her parents because they have taught her countless of life lessons, shown her how to be successful, and taught her that: with Jesus by her side she can do anything. Without her parents support and love, she would not have the accomplishments she has. After high school, she wants to be an ag teacher and make an impact in a wonderful industry for kids just as Ms. Williams has done for her. Her favorite subject in school is ag because the FFA organization has shaped her into the individual she is, and has given her countless fantastic opportunities that she has been blessed to experience in her high school years. Fisher Arrington is the senior of the month. He has been going to Arp his whole life. Fisher’s biggest inspirations are his parents. They are both major positive influences and great role models in his life. He plans to attend the University of Texas at Tyler after high school and major in Business Marketing. His favorite subject in school is math because he feels like it has always made the most sense to him, and he has an amazing teacher. Elizabeth Lee has been going to school at Arp for 11 years. Her dad, who’s an Air Force commander and police officer, is her biggest inspiration, because he works hard and always tries to be there even when it’s difficult. After high school, she wants to pursue ministry work or become an agricultural science teacher. She loves her ag classes, but her favorite subject would have to be math, not because she’s good at it but because it’s challenging. Mr. John Burkhalter is our high school staff of the month. He traveled across Western and Eastern Europe and taught bible stories to young people in Ukraine before he started teaching. His inspiration is God and made it clear as the mission field of East Texas as well. He majored in aquatic biology and chemistry in college. He graduated from Garrison High School in 1991. Then, he attended SFASU, graduating with his bachelor in 1995 and master’s degree in 2001. He chose to teach because he wanted to make a difference in the lives of the next generation. 12
