Senior of the Month The Senior of the Month is Kyndel Fuller. “My favorite thing to do
when I’m not in school would have to be going to church, watching
movies, fishing, and being crafty,” Kyndel says. She stated that her
favorite place to go on vacation would have to be Seaside, FL. Kyndel
is the middle child in which she has a 20 year old sister and a 14 year
old brother who also attends Arp High School. Kyndel and her family
have many pets including a black Labrador, a Shih Tzu, chickens,
quail, and fish. After high school, Kyndel would like to pursue a
degree in Accounting at UT-Tyler. As you may have already figured
out, Kyndel’s favorite school subject is most definitely math. This
school year means a lot to Kyndel as it is her last year of high school.
She is involved in several things like cheerleading, National Honor
Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as well as softball.
Congratulations on achieving Senior of the Month!
Junior of the Month The Junior of the Month is Desiree Sawyer. When Desiree is
not at school, she usually likes to read. After school, if needed,
she helps out in band. Her favorite place to go on vacation is
Tennessee. If she could go anywhere in the world, she would like
to go to England, London, Dublin, Italy, Rome; or just tour
through Europe.” She is involved in band and UIL and she has
two siblings. She said that this would be her 6th year at Arp this
year, which means she will graduate in 2021. When we asked her
where she was born and where she grew up, she told us “I was
born in Jacksonville Texas, and I grew up in Beaumont.”
Congratulations on receiving Junior of the Month!

Sophomore of the Month The Sophomore of the Month is Marco Argueta. When
Marco is not at school, he is usually outside or playing sports.
After school, he is most likely by the lake or eating at McDon-
alds. Marco has been at Arp for over five years. If Marco had
to go somewhere on a vacation, he would choose Mexico,
mostly because of its wide variety of people and colors. You
will find Marco at school most likely doing math, not only be-
cause it is his favorite subject, but that is what he does best in.
When Marco is participating in activities in school, you will
find him in track or football. When Marco is playing football,
he is number 26 so look out for this varsity player. After
Marco graduates, he is planning on pursuing his dream career
path in football, but if he had to choose a side job he would be
an architect. When not at school, he is usually at home with his
4 siblings and his two dogs. Congratulations on achieving
Sophomore of the Month!
Freshman of the Month Freshman of the Month is Thomas Fuller. He moved to Arp
his 6th grade year. He enjoys hunting when he is not in school.
Thomas’s favorite food is steak. He is very involved in
athletics, in which he plays football, basketball, baseball, and
he runs track and pole vaults. If Thomas could go anywhere in
the world, he would go to Australia. Thomas attends the
Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Wednesday mornings and
enjoys hanging out with friends. Congratulations on being the
Freshman of the Month!

Employee of the Month
Mrs. Donna Lowery was selected as Employee of the Month by the
high school faculty. Mrs. Lowery is the high school counselor. She
has been counseling for 13 years. “Getting to see the students on a
non-discipline platform is my favorite thing about counselling,” she
says. She graduated from Honey Grove High School. She also
attended Texas A&M Commerce College when it was named East
Texas State University among several others. Mrs. Lowery states
that she has always wanted to be a school teacher. She grew up
playing school and enjoyed it very much. Also, as a senior in high
school she had perfect attendance. Mrs. Lowery enjoys hunting
when she is not at work or dealing with school functions. She has
four children as well as six grandchildren. Mrs. Lowery is very
involved in the Arp school district. She is always doing something
for someone. Congratulations on receiving Employee of the Month!

Band
This year for marching season, Mr. Cook picked a march called The Samurai and The Maiden. It is a
Japanese based arrangement. The opener of the show is called The Samurai and The Maiden and the ballad
is called Under The Cherry Blossoms. Now even though we may not know the end of the show yet, we
know that come time for the UIL Region 21 Marching Contest on October 19, 2019, Mr. Cook will have
us more than prepared.

NHS Blood Drive
National Honor Society hosted a blood drive in the Arp High School library on Thursday,
September 5, 2019. With a total of about thirty people donating, thirty-seven pints were collected.
“It was not a bad blood drive considering the amount of athletes and Career and Technology
Education students that we have who were not able to donate,” coming from Mrs. Allen. Many lives
will be saved by those who gave not only their blood, but also their time on Thursday at the Carter
BloodCare blood drive. Mrs. Allen was asked if she has a goal for the next blood drive and her
response was, “For the January blood drive, I would like for at least fifty people to donate.” In order
to reach the January blood drive goal, we will need more donors. Therefore, NHS inductees
encourage each and every student that qualifies to participate and save lives!

Student of the Month
The Elementary Student of the Month is Miss. Kennedy. Kennedy
is in the fifth grade. Her favorite thing to do is to read. If she could
be a superhero, she would want to be able to read minds to see what
others are thinking. Her favorite food is macaroni. She loves to
spend time with her two dogs, Jet and Rocket. When she grows up,
she wants to go into the military. Her favorite subject is math. Her
favorite video game is Minecraft.
Staff Member of the Month
The Elementary Staff Member of the Month is Ms.
Madison Evans. This is her second year of teaching, but first
year teaching at Arp. She is a Pre-K teacher. One thing she
loves about Arp is the small town. She loves how close
everyone is and how everyone is like family. Her
Kindergarten teacher inspired her to become a teacher. Her
favorite subject in school was reading. She went to college at
UT-Tyler. If she could be remembered by one thing, it would
be her “Madison Motivation” and her positive energy.
