History of me

By: Vianey Vazquez

Geography

My dad walked me to the Pre-k that morning. It was mildly cold. He
held my hand as we counted our steps all the way to the entrance. I
look at all the strangers sitting in room 2. I began to cry and hug my
dad as a lady approached us. I beg and plead for my dad to stay with
me in the room. He eventually yet reluctantly does so. I focus my
attention on a few kids. They were the same age as me but a lot
taller, just like everyone else in that class.

This kids would become my friends. (some more than
others.) That year was one of the best in my life. My dad
stopped staying with me, and just dropped me off. I had so
much fun. I increased my vocabulary and was competing
with one of my classmates to be the highest achieving
student. (I´m pretty sure he won.) I thought school was the
best thing ever, I was sad to see that it was over. That is,
until I realized that I had about 13 years left.

Religion

I took a trip to Mexico with my family when I was about four years old.
We did a lot during that time and we went to a lot of places. One
place was the temple of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We had to go up
many stairs. Me and my brother ran ahead, but were soon stopped by
our parents and told to slow down. This was because they didn't want
us getting lost or taken. There were some things to do along the way,
such as take pictures or buy food. My mom and dad told us th stories
about the places that we were visiting. One story was about how Our
Lady of Guadalupe kept leaving the newer temple that was built for
her to go to her original temple. She eventually stayed in the newer
temple, but as she did so, the older one slowly fell apart.

Achievements

One thing I can not live without would be the advancement of water
transportation. Instead of walking miles to collect water to be able to
complete a simple task, we just have to go as far as to our sink.
Water is so convenient for us Americans now these days that we take
it for granted. If we didn't have water at the touch of our fingertips,
doing most tasks would be more work. Simple tasks such as cleaning
dishes, washing clothes, and bathing would be extremely more
complex.

Politics

One rule that is in place at my house is that I have to feed my dogs
when I’m told to. If I don’t do this, my mom gets extremely upset. I
also have to take a shower often, clean my room, pick up after
myself, and brush my hair. If I don’t do this, my mom gets very
disappointed. The only punishment that I’ve had happen to me is
when I’ve gotten my phone taken away. This was because I didn’t
clean my room for about a week.

Economics

In the future, I am planning on working to become a teacher. I want to
teach a subject such as art, music, or gardening. I want to be a
teacher because I love seeing people smile. I love seeing kids smile. I
love being the reason that someone is happy. I want to be a
supportive teacher that will go above and beyond for the students. I
want to be the reason that a kid can play their first note on the piano
or their first cord on the guitar. I want to be the reason that someone
decides not to give up.

Social structures

In my house, I live with my mom and brother. My brother is older than
me by 4 years. He’s in highschool and his name is Manuel. I don’t
really have a dad anymore. He walked out on us when I was 9. My
mom is kinda nice and supportive on some things. My mom’s side of
the family is really cool. I love my new baby cousins and my aunt who
is pregnant. We all want to go to Mexico one day. My family and I (the
ones who I live with) like going on adventures. We also like to cuddle
our dogs and rabbit together.
