3 Dear Friends, It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 30th International Congress of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. The Scientific Committee has put together a programme that will see us discussing the real and catastrophic effects of climate change on women’s health, the elephant in the room, the many lessons we have learned as we strode across the millennia and the new developments that will inform our future practices. We agree that we are all part of the solution, but should we still hang around the delivery suites and the operating theaters after the age of 60? It is debatable, for sure. We thank colleagues who chose our Congress to present and share their scientific works. We are happy to report that we have received a record number of free communications showcasing important and interesting research work done by our colleagues. We hope this will lead to some meaningful collaborations and networking among us. We also hope the Congress will provide you with ample opportunities to have stimulating academic discussions as well as insightful reminiscences of the times past, in the lecture halls and during coffee sessions too. Pulau Pinang is a beautiful state, with beautiful beaches and the most sumptuous food. The durians should still be in season around this time, so do take time to go around Penang and enjoy what Penang has to offer after attending the scientific sessions.
