3. Administrators’ Multicultural Management Practices: A Phenomenological Study of Teachers’ Experiences in Two Chinese International Schools
This study aims to deeply explore the practices and strategies of school management in a multicultural environment, with a focus on analyzing the experiences, challenges, and countermeasures of two international schools in China when facing cultural diversity. With the advancement of globalization and the increasingly frequent international exchanges, international schools have gradually become an important platform for the integration of diverse cultures. While bringing rich cultural resources, they have also triggered a series of management problems. This study adopts a qualitative research method. Through in-depth interviews with teachers from two schools, it aims to reveal their real experiences and strategic thinking in a complex multicultural background.<br>The research subjects were selected from two international schools in China, each composed of teachers from different countries and cultural backgrounds, to ensure that the research had a rich multicultural perspective. The research strictly adheres to ethical norms, ensures the privacy and security of the respondents, and strives to present true and objective research results.<br>Research results show that differences in cultural cognition pose many challenges for managers in strategy formulation and implementation. However, at the same time, multiculturalism also brings innovative impetus and opportunities for cross-cultural communication to schools. Specifically, in promoting cultural integration, managers emphasize the importance of communication and adopt diversified management strategies to balance the needs of different cultural groups. Meanwhile, the research also found that in<br>iv<br>adapting to a multicultural environment, teachers gradually formed a cross-cultural professional identity and showed positive progress in enhancing cultural sensitivity and communication skills. Nevertheless, cultural conflicts still occur from time to time. Managers need to constantly adjust and optimize management strategies to achieve the harmonious development of the school.
