A Letter From
Suni Mackall, CCEF Board President

Welcome,
We are so grateful to all of you for coming tonight to the 22nd Annual
Clarke County Education Foundation (CCEF) Gala, “Cruisin’ for Clarke.” And, in
fact we ARE cruising! Someone here tonight is going to win a cruise! And, in
fact, the CCEF is and has been cruising forward this year! Tonight, we celebrate
our success! In the past year, we have awarded over $50,000 in teacher grants,
student scholarships, STEM grants for world class speakers, and MORE, all to
help support the students and staff of Clarke County Public Schools. We were
able to award ALL classroom teacher grant requests for our Classroom Impact
Grants. We have partnered with the Barns of Rosehill to help our students. We
have started a new after school STEM Academy, in part thanks to the Jack Kent
Cooke Foundation who awarded us a $20,000 grant! We have helped bring wifi
to students who need it and were awarded a grant from the United Way of the
NSV to continue these efforts. We have opened new endowed accounts to help
ensure our future is bright. These successes would not be possible without YOU,
our donors! We thank you and celebrate you!
Tonight, we also recognize one of Clarke County’s finest: John
“Johnny” Milleson, former CCEF Board member and President and CEO of the
Bank of Clarke County, who retired after 20 years with the Bank. Johnny has
consistently shown both personally and professionally his steadfast support
of Clarke County public schools. His example of citizenship, leadership and
integrity are models for us all. We are so grateful for you Johnny, and we feel so
privileged to recognize you at our gala this evening. In your retirement, we invite
you back to our CCEF Board! Anytime!
Lastly, in the midst of the divisiveness that permeates our media now,
there is hope-“the Clarke County way.” Clarke County residents can proudly say
we want peace with our neighbors, we are here to help each other, and we desire
to improve things- everyday.
The CCEF mission can be simplified to this: we want to help our public
schools. We want our students, teachers and administrators to all know we are
here to make things better. We are here to help.
Thank you all for coming and for your continued support!

Suni Mackall

A Note From
Dr. Chuck Bishop, Superintendent of Schools

Dear Friends of the CCEF,

Welcome to the annual Clarke County Education Foundation
Celebration! Since its inception in 1991, the Clarke County
Education Foundation has been committed to promoting and
expanding educational opportunities for Clarke County students
in grades PK-12. Over the years, the CCEF has awarded more
than $2.5 million in support of educational programming,
technology initiatives, student and staff scholarships, classroom
grants, professional development, facility upgrades and various
community programs and events. The Foundation is truly a lifeline
for public education in our community.

On behalf of the school board, our students and our staff, thank
you for your commitment to supporting public education in
Clarke County. Your generous contributions to the Clarke County
Education Foundation continue to ensure that the school division
can remain focused on furthering our mission of Encouraging,

Thank You

FOR YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT!

Through the support of businesses and individuals like you,
the Clarke County Education Foundation has become the
greatest, non-governmental source of financial support for
the students, faculty, staff, and facilities of Clarke County
Public Schools. In the past 28 years, we have distributed

over $2.5 million to our public schools and students.
