Nimble is a curious cat: he’s also known as pest,
When it comes to finding trouble, he’s amongst the best.
He’s the doziest of felines, and he wouldn’t hurt a fly,
But Nimble loves exploring, and you couldn’t call him shy.
Oh Nimble, foolish Nimble! You are mischief times by ten.
When a caterwaul floats across the hall, it’s Nimble – stuck again!

He likes to squeeze in spaces that aren’t large enough for him
As, although he’s very amiable, he’s really rather dim.
He’s ginger and fat-bellied, and his kindly eyes are brown,
But Nimble’s clambered up the birch tree, and now he can’t get down!
Oh Nimble, foolish Nimble! You are mischief times by ten.
When a wailing bawl floats across the hall, it’s Nimble – stuck again!

One day he was exploring, just to pass the time ‘til dinner,
Nimble found a rabbit hole, and he decided he was thinner
Than his actual rather chubby self (he should go on a diet),
The noise he made ‘cause he was stuck sounded like a riot.
Oh Nimble, foolish Nimble! You are mischief times by ten.
When a plaintive bawl floats across the hall, it’s Nimble – stuck again!

One peaceful, sunny afternoon, the Sunday calm was shattered,
Nimble was on the highest shelf, and all the pans were clattered
When he knocked them with his stripy tail, in a desperate state,
Oh Nimble, clumsy Nimble, he smashed every single plate!
Oh Nimble, foolish Nimble! You are mischief times by ten.
When a sorry bawl floats across the hall, it’s Nimble – stuck again!

Poor Nimble is a bumbler, a dopey, awkward clown,
But his family adore him, and they come running at the sound
Of his pathetic, mournful wailings. They like his funny ways,
‘Cause Nimble is endearing, and they’ll love him all his days.
Oh Nimble, foolish Nimble! You are mischief times by ten.
When a happy bawl floats across the hall, it’s Nimble – home again!
