Scholarships and Bursaries at SAIT

A student award can help you achieve your goals. SAIT is proud to offer more than $5 million
in scholarships and bursaries to students in almost every program, and you’ll find complete
details in this guide.

Whether you are starting your very first semester or getting ready to graduate, awards are available to all qualifying SAIT students.

Some awards recognize your academic success and other awards recognize your community involvement. But every award has
been created because of generous donations from SAIT alumni, faculty and staff as well as corporate partners and friends. And
every student award is dedicated to helping SAIT students find success.

I encourage you to apply for a student award. You’ll find everything you need to know about the application process in this guide.
You can also attend our helpful award assistance labs to learn about the process in person — see page 3 for more information.

If you receive an award, please help us and future students by thanking the donor or sponsor who provided the funds. Your
award confirmation email will include suggestions for how you can say “thank you” either in person or online. Then watch
your student email for invitations to our Student Award Celebrations throughout the year. Expressing your gratitude helps
you make a great impression — and it’s a smart way to connect with thousands of influential SAIT donors, sponsors and
potential employers.

Those who graduate from SAIT join a network of more than 236,000 proud alumni — people who are making a difference in
their communities and around the world. As you work towards your goal of graduating, SAIT’s Alumni and Development team is
working to support you and your career goals.

We’re here to help, and we’d love to meet you. Drop by the Student Awards window (AA113 in Heritage Hall) to say hello.

I wish you a great year and continued success.

Faces of Student Success

This guide gives you information on applying for a student award and introduces you to SAIT students who have already received awards
— people like me.

I received the Brandi Costar Memorial award just as I was completing my studies in the Radio, Television and Broadcast News program.
It helped me pay for tuition and lifted the financial stress of having been a student for two years.

Today I’m not only a proud SAIT alumna, I’m also working here! My job title is Alumni Relations Officer and I am dedicated to ensuring your
time at SAIT is as enjoyable and successful as possible.

I’m part of SAIT’s Alumni and Development team, and together we offer:
• Networking events for SAIT students that will connect you with your industry — a great way to learn more about your future career.

Who knows? Maybe you’ll meet a future employer.
• Award assistance labs, because one of my own personal goals is making the student award application process as easy as possible.

Each lab will connect you with staff who can answer your questions and help you get started. See page 3 of this guide or search for
Student Awards on sait.ca to find the lab schedule.
• Personalized SAIT business cards for students and alumni — great for handing out at networking events. You’ll receive 50 cards for $5
and you can order online at sait.imodules.com/BCP2018.
• Part-time job opportunities on campus through the Student Calling Program, which offers flexible hours and competitive pay.
For more information, please email [email protected] or call 403.774.5020.

From the moment you arrive on campus, the Alumni and Development team will do all we can to support your career goals. I know what
it’s like to study here, and I also know what it’s like to have questions or need help. If you’re not sure where to start or who to ask, send
me an email at [email protected]. If I can’t help, I’ll put you in touch with someone who can.

I’ll be on campus from residence move-in, all the way to graduation day, so be sure to say “Hi!”

As a SAIT student, then a SAIT alumna and now a SAIT staff member, I’ve gotten to know and appreciate SAIT from just about every angle.
I’m a vocal advocate of my alma mater, and I hope you’ll feel the same way.
