When I was in Form 4 and had just
finished the PT3 exam two years
ago. My story as a new student
began when I transferred to a new
school, Sekolah Menengah Teknik
Tuanku Ja'afar. I started school on
18 February 2020, and the school
year ended in mid-March. While I

was enjoying the school term
holidays with my family, Tan Sri
Dato' Dr. Haji Muhyiddin Yassin,
Malaysia's Prime Minister at the
time, stated that Malaysians will
face the Malaysia Government
Movement Control Order (MCO)

from 18 March 2020, and as
students, I will have to face
changes in learning concepts.

The approach must be adaptable
and perseverant in accepting and

confronting the new norm. The
MCO was held because the

number of Covid-19 cases had
skyrocketed, and the

government wanted to keep the
population safe from the virus.

The Coronavirus pandemic
(COVID-19) has spread widely
and is expected to shock the

global population by 2020.
Furthermore, because I do not
have a deep knowledge of the
world of technology and do not

understand how to use the
created platform, it is difficult
for students like me to interact
with teachers at the start of

this new norm.

As a result, I only had a month to
study face-to-face at school. All
students were asked to study from
home using today's rapidly growing
technology platforms during the
MCO. For example, the Google
Classroom platform can be used to
obtain notes and exercises from
teachers, the YouTube and Google
platforms can be used to obtain
additional information about the
subjects we study, and the Google
Meet platform can be used to hold
teaching and learning activities

similar to those held in the
classroom but in an online format.

During the pandemic, teachers
worked tirelessly to plan class

schedules for all of us.

Our class will begin at 7.30 a.m. and
will conclude at 3 p.m. We will take
breaks at 10:20 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Even just learning by looking at
gadgets is tiring and sleepy because

you are sitting without doing
anything else. After all, it's difficult

for me to ask questions to the
teacher because it's difficult to
understand when I'm online. It's
because when internet network
problems occur, especially when
teachers are teaching, I become
disturbed and must wait for the
teacher to finish teaching before
asking the teacher to repeat the
lesson to gain understanding. As a
result, teachers will find it difficult
to teach twice and finish a topic

promptly.

Then I decided to participate
in MC PLUS, Malaysia's

best tuition center. The goal
of taking extra classes is to
expand my knowledge and
assist my learning at school.
I am very happy because I

can easily gain all of the
knowledge I need and learn

in a fun way. After all,
there are so many free
activities and seminars.

Furthermore, my
extracurricular activities are
limited because there aren't

many activities held. As a
result, I decided to take steps

to participate in
extracurricular programs and

events to earn
extracurricular marks, such

as webinars and quiz
competitions. This will allow
me to be an active and smart

student with good time
management because I will be

able to participate in online
classes regularly and enroll in
programs that will benefit me.

To summarise, I do not
use the pandemic as an
excuse to stop striving

to be a successful
student. Every challenge
has a unique solution. If

we want to be
successful, we should
look for ways to get
there. Put the pedal to

the metal.
