Golf Facilities

 18 hole course, par 72, designed by Arthur Hills

Our 18 hole golf course was designed by Arthur Hills, twice named Architect of the Year by Golf Digest. With 6 sets of tees,
Blackthorn Club's golf course is capable of being a challenge for the best golfers yet still fun for the novice. The course has
Crenshaw Bent Grass Greens, Vamont Bermudagrass tees, fairways and roughs. The practice facilities include, a double sided
driving range and practice chipping and bunker areas as well as a practice putting green. Our practice facilities are known to be the
best practice facility in the area!

Our Golf Pro Shop is owned by the Club. We employee a PGA Certified Golf Professional, a PGA Apprentice and a well trained Pro
Shop & Cart Staff. The Golf Course Superintendent is certified through the GCSAA and has worked diligently at maintaining the
Audubon International Sanctuary designation.

The golf course is open 12 months per year (weather permitting) 6 days per week for member play and hosts 12-15 Monday golf
outings per season.

In the past 18 years the club has been the host sight for a multitude of golf tournaments to include:

 17 uninterrupted years for the annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate Tournament
 Women's Southern Conference Championship
 Men's Southern Conference Championship
 Women's A-Sun Conference Championship
 Tennessee State Four-Ball (4 times)
 Tennessee Mid-Am
 Numerous State Amateur & State Open Qualifiers
 Numerous Stat & National Junior Championships
 Tennessee Women's State Amateur
 US Mid-Am Qualifier
 Tennessee State Senior Amateur Championship
 Has been chosen to be the host sight for the 2016 Tennessee Men's State Amateur Championship

Tennis Facilities

The Tennis Pro Shop is owned by our Tennis Professional who is a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional "Elite" and also employees an
assistant who is a USPTA Certified Professional. Hard courts are available for member play year round and the Har-Tru courts are
typically available 7-8 months per year.

Our beautiful outdoor pool features 7 lap lanes, a kiddie pool, a kid’s playground area and a F&B Cabana for poolside dining. The
pool is heated and is open 7 days a week, Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day weekend, annually.

Special Club Features

Blackthorn Club in located in the outskirts of Johnson City, Tennessee at the heart of "The Ridges" subdivision which is populated
with over 300 privately owned homes which sell typically between 750K and several million dollars. Home owners in The Ridges
subdivision are NOT required to purchase a Club Membership. Blackthorn Club has no affiliation with the subdivision's POA.
Blackthorn Club enjoys a very supportive membership due to the varied amenities and programs offered. We follow a concept that
we are more than a great club to our adult members ... we are "a great club for the entire family, where members feel at home"
Club is open 6 days per week, 12 months per year.

Job Title

General Manager

Brief Job Description

The General Manager is expected to coordinate and direct all management functions of the Club and work in concert with the
Owners in the development of policies, programs, and events. The General Manager will consult with the Owners as appropriate on
matters of significance to the Club. He or she will be responsible for the daily operations of the Club, monitoring the quality of the
Club’s products and services to ensure maximum member and guest satisfaction and will endeavor to ensure an atmosphere of
hospitality, friendliness and goodwill.
The General Manager will indirectly supervise all employees of the Club. He or She will lead and direct all department heads
consisting of a Golf Professional, Golf Course Superintendent, Tennis Professional, Executive Chef, FOH Dining & Banquet Manager,
Events Coordinator, Pool Supervisor and will also directly oversee on a daily basis all office/accounting employees (3) and a
clubhouse maintenance employee (1).

Candidate Qualifications

The Owners are interested in seasoned candidates who show a logical progression in positions leading up to a General Manager’s
position, or a number two that is being groomed for the GM position of a highly-regarded private club.
Candidates should possess strong communication, operational and financial skills and have proven experience leading and
managing all facets of a full-service private club. The General Manager must be able to engage with an active Ownership and
provide professional guidance and bringing thoughtful options and ideas to the table.
The position also requires a strong and innovative leader who will present strategies and solutions to attract new members and
invigorate overall club member participation and food and beverage programs.

Educational Requirements

Although not a requirement, the CCM designation or someone working towards this goal is looked upon as a positive!
