“You ready Abby?” I hear Natasha yell.
“Yep coming” I call back we were so excited
for our first day at camp, we were headed to
the Agrodome sheep show. which was way
more awesome then I thought. I raced down
the ladder from where Natasha, Shikira and I
were sleeping, grabbed my bag and out the
door we went me and we headed over to the
rest of the kids were we sat down with Zara,
Lucy, Jodi and Aliana were Mr O gave us a
talk about the day and before we knew it we
were on the bus to the Agrodome.

Once we had arrived and got out of the bus,
we got given a sticker and inside we went. I
thought the Agrodome was gonna be dumb
and boring but it was actually so much fun!
Once the show was over we were allowed to
go into the petting zoo, where I held a baby
lamb for the first time. I thought they were so
cute!!! After being in the petting zoo we went
over to the gift shop … I didn't get anything. It
was all way to expensive. After about 15
minutes we went outside for a early lunch. But

before we knew it, it was time to head back on
the bus again to go to the luge which was my
favourite bit about camp.

We headed to the luge with the whole bus
filled with excitement as soon as we got there
we were almost immediately on a gondola
starting to head up, I felt like it all went so fast.
I first went on the beginners course and I was
going that fast that I passed 6 people and at
the bottom I was about to get on the ski lift
when Amy saw me and said
“Abby wait up.” so we both ended up on the
ski lift and it was the funniest ski lift ride ever.
While we were on our way up Amy and I
decided that we would both go to the hardest
course and that we would stick together as
soon as we started we both just stared fake
screaming and had the best time thing ever.
On the way back up I was still with Amy, it
was kinda sad in a way because we were only
aloud 2 turns and then we were finished but it
was still the highlight of camp for me.

It was now wednesday and we had a lot going
on first the museum we all got on the bus as
usual after breakfast and headed to the
museum. As soon as we got out of the bus,
the only thing you could smell was Rotorua
the egg smell was so strong there. We got
given another sticker and we got put into a
group depending what colour your sticker was
I had yellow because it’s my favourite colour. I
liked the museum, I learnt a lot about the
history of Mt Tarawera and the pink and white
terraces. Then after an early lunch we were
off to Te Puia, it was awesome first we got
welcomed with a Powhiri then a awesome
Kapa Haka before being shown around the
geysers which were amazing. Finally after
being shown around the wood carving and
flax weaving we went in and out of the gift
shop before heading to the 3D maze which
was was so excited for we got given a quick
talk and in we went I called out
“Zara where are you?” she replied
“Over here”

“where’s here” I quickly called back but by
then I had already found 3 huts with 1 left to
find I got so confused I just couldn’t find
green. After about 10 minutes of hopelessly
looking I walked around the corner and there
it was the green hut ! I was so happy I ran up
and touched it but then oh no, I still had to get
out !. It took me about another 10 minutes to
find a way but as soon as I got out I stopped
my stopwatch and it said i was only in there
for 27 minutes and 46 seconds it was
awesome then I looked around and I was the
first girl out!!! I was so happy so I ran into the
bus got my money and bought an ice blocked
and then when I finished that … I bought
another one and then … I wanted another one
but I knew i would feel sick so… I just bought
a pack of chips.

Once we finally got back to the campsite we
just chilled and ate lollies until it was time to
get ready for Gengy’s. Me and Natasha went
into Zara's cabin while Shikira went over to
Chloe and Danielle's cabin we were all so

excited and couldn't wait to have a awesome
dinner. Once we got to Gengy's Mr O said get
onto groups of 6 for who you're sitting with so
I went with Zara, Aliana, Natasha, Ella and a
few others but that's just how it started we all
ended moving to different tables but when we
started to eat Mr O said you girls can go up I
immediately saw chips and went for those but
Zara said you go this was first so I went the
right was and saw chicken grabbed a lot of
that then kept walking and because I had so
much chicken and knew I was getting chips I
just had that I went to the grill and watched
them cook my food and, it turned out I had
way more chicken then I thought but I served
myself some chips got some tomato sauce
and went back to our table I ate all of it so fast
and honestly it was such a nice meal even
though it wasn't much but I wanted seconds
so I went back and got exactly the same
again. Once I had finished seconds me and
Zara took a break for eating dessert and by
the time we went up for our first serving of
dessert Natasha was on her third!!! I got

chocolate ice-cream with a lot of chocolate
syrup and nailed it. I wanted to go for seconds
of dessert but because I had already had 2 ice
blocks that day and then that dessert I knew I
would feel sick so I didn't.

It was now Thursday and although I wanted to
go home I was sad because it was our last
day at Rotorua but I wanted to enjoy it. First
was Rainbow Springs it was ok we just looked
around at all the creatures until we all meet up
around the big splash! Everyone was so
excited and couldn't wait, well … Except for
Zara how to be honest didn't wanna go on at
all but she went on the first time with us and it
was so much fun besides the fact that we got
stuck in the water elevator and kept going up
and down then I went on again and again the
about the third time I went on we got stuck at
the very top just before you go down the drop.
After we'd eaten lunch and gone into the gift
shop we headed back onto the bus to go to
the buried village.

On our way there we went past the blue lake
and it is soooo blue (Hints the name). When
we arrived at the buried we had a brief talking
to and then we went into the museum type
thing then went in groups to look at the
outside stuff but then someone found a clue
and we kept going and it ended up taking us
the whole way through the buried village it
was awesome it took us all the way down to a
waterfall which was beautiful then took us all
he way back to the begin,we had the best
time. We all went to get back on the bus when
Miss Caddick stopped us and said it’s not
working so in other words the bus had broken
down so we went back into the buried village
had some afternoon tea and played around
for about an hour until Mr O called us over
and said that there was a school bus that
offered to take us and another on was coming
because we couldn't all fit in
one. Once we finally arrived back at the
campsite we just lazed around until it was
time to go to the Polynesian spa the were so
relaxing but they definitely smelt like Rotorua

we just kept going back and forth between the
spa and the pool it was so relaxing then we
were told to get out which sucked but it was
fun while it lasted and our skin was so soft.

When we got back to camp we had to pack
which was sad but also fun because I was so
ready to go home! So we packed for about
half an hour then headed to bed like normal
the next morning we woke up and I was so
excited to see my family so I woke up Shikira
and Natasha then we all went and got
dressed and ready for the day went for
breakfast the we went back and before we
knew it our rooms were being inspected by
the camp owner and we were putting our bags
on the bus it seemed like it all went so fast but
I was so excited to go home. Our first stop
was Matamata then Silverdale which was
when we were past half way then straight
back to school no stops it seemed like
forever… even tho it was like two hours.

Once we had finally arrived back at school
there were lots of people waiting so I went
down and we waited for our stuff. My mum
wasn’t there yet so i took my things with
Natasha up to the hall and went to the office
so they could call my mum. While me natasha
and a few others went and waited on the hill
for my mum we just talked and hung out for a
while until my mum pulled up with my brother
in the car and i ran and gave her a big hug we
put we put my bags in the car and off we went
after a week away it felt good to be home.
