Show Me the Money: More Scholarships for Seniors

Calling all future plumbers, electricians, welders, and other skilled workers who make
civilized life possible! For the seventh year in a row, the Work Ethic Scholarship
Program is offering a modest pile of money to people willing to learn a trade that’s in
demand. We’re looking for the next generation of skilled workers who will
work smart and hard. This program doesn’t focus on test scores, grades, or grammar.
We’re focused on finding people who share our values and understand the importance
of work ethic, personal responsibility, delayed gratification, and a positive attitude.
Students must not be planning to go to a 4 year college; this is for those who will be
enrolled in a trade-related program by January of 2021 and who show up early, stay
late, and are determined to get the job done. Go to https://www.mikeroweworks.org/ for
more information.
The Joye Love Law Firm will offer six $2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in
South Carolina who plan to attend a four-year institution of higher learning in the fall.
Selection of the recipients will be based on a creative response to the following
prompt by April 1, 2020. www.joyelawfirm.com/joye-scholarship-program
South Carolina recently proposed a new version of the S.C. “Hands-Free Act” that would
outlaw the use of a phone for almost any reason and increase the fines. Do you believe
there are more changes to cell phone laws in your state that should be changed? Do
you think the rate of distracted driving accidents would decrease if these laws were
different?
Sparkling Ice is awarding five $5,000 scholarships to fun and unique eligible high school
students who are planning a bright & colorful future. Do you know a student who is
not afraid to be themselves? Encourage them to apply by February 15.
