Catholic Schools Week
We begin the celebration of Catholic Schools Week. Any school should
be celebrated and supported as it provides to give an adequate education to its
students. Putting on the adjective “Catholic” has even a more special meaning to all of us here at St.
Francis de Sales.
Our school is Catholic. Our school has been founded to not only provide a high level of educa-
tion in every sense of the word, but to develop our students in their Catholic faith.
We are proud of our school in that it provides a top notch education. Yet, it is not enough. We
have to go further. We have to be Catholic.
The values we instill in our students are Catholic values. We begin with the premise that there is
a god who sent His only begotten son, Jesus, to establish the one true Church. As such, the Catholic
Church is instructed to teach the truth of Jesus Christ in our world today.
Our school teaches the Catholic religion. Prayer is part and parcel of the formation of our stu-
dents. In our Catholic school, our students pray. They come to celebrate the Eucharist every week.
We provide the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
Our students study the lives of our saints. They study the Commandments taught by the Church.
Our hope is that this generation of Catholic boys and girls will become the future Church’s men
and women who will be interested in continuing the truth of the Catholic Church.
Catholic Schools Week is a moment to re-affirm our commitment to support and uphold a Catho-
lic education.
It is a time to say, “Thank you!” to our parents who at great expense choose to send their chil-
dren to St. Francis de Sales Catholic School.
It is a time to say thank you to our dedicated teachers who, with great sacrifice, live and teach
Catholic values.
St. Francis de Sales Catholic School celebrates 96 years of quality Catholic education.
We couldn’t be more proud. Onward to 100 years!
Peace,
