About Tony Romo

Tony Romo was Born april 21, 1980 in San Diego, California. His given name was Antonio

Ramiro Romo. His parents were Ramiro Romo Jr and Joan Romo. His father served in the
United States Navy and San Diego is where he was stationed at the time of Tony’s birth.

His family moved to Wisconsin with his family in 1982 and Grew up watching Brett Favre
with the Green Bay Packers. Tony played baseball and earned a spot on the little league All
Star league.

Tony attended Burlington High school where he e played basketball,football, golf and tennis.
Tony became the starting quarterback his junior year where they went 3-6 that season. He
did earn many honors for his personal play during the season including ALL-Racine County
football team and Wisconsin's state coaches all state team

College years

Tony Romo accepted a partial scholarship to Eastern Illinois for football where he
played quarterback for the team. Tony started his sophomore year and ranked
second among Division 1-AA in passing efficiency. After the season he was
named All American honorable mention, All Ohio valley conference member, and
OVC player of the year. Following his senior year he became the first Eastern
Illinois player to win the Walter Payton award. Despite all his success in college he
went undrafted in the NFL draft and was picked up as an undrafted free agent by
the Dallas Cowboys

NFL

Tony Romo was on the bench for three seasons until he took over the Dallas
cowboys starting Quarterback on the 2006 season. Romo became a fan
favorite and led the cowboys to the playoffs. Romo holds several cowboys team
records including passing touchdowns, passing yards, most games with at least
300 passing yards, & games with three or more touchdown passes. Romo
retired after the 2016 season. Tony became an NFL broadcaster for NBC.
