SELF ENHANCEMENT SKILLS
PROGRAMME

by Counseling Section, CCSC

A motivational program that works to make people feel good about themselves & to maintain self-esteem
especially prominent in situation or threat failure or blows.
This programme was conducted to stimulate students to enhance and regulate their self-resilience
especially in campus life. Beside talk, this two-hour programme shared some tips on how to encourage a
person to enhance their self-resilience in positive ways.  Two programmes were successfully conducted in
February 2018.

This programme is specifically designed to create awareness among students on the
importance of emotional well-being and to guide and help students to have a healthy
emotional and mental state.  Emotional well-being is a sense which to help a person
functioning well in their daily life.  Maintaining and caring for emotional well-being is
important because it helps an individual in cope with problems as well as to be able to
adjust with changes that may occur in their life.  As for two series of programme
conducted, its objectives were to provide awareness and proper understanding among
students and to help them in understanding about their self-concept and identity.

A program for student to discover limitation to personal development in
thoughts, acts and feelings and to teach skills to sustain change in self.  Self-
Development programme (SDP) emphasizes on the personal growth skills that
are essential for the students to empower their potential.  Thus, in the first series
of SDP for year 2018, the programme aimed to provide IIUM students with the
practical social adaptation skill in order to have a sense of belonginess and love

in the multicultural society of IIUM.

PROFILING The test is conducted every semester to

journey of their study.

SCP gives overall ideas on one’s career
development that covers the areas of
personality and career interest.  The
Profiling result is for career self-
exploration and consultation is
provided for better career planning.
The overall results are then will be
presented to respective kulliyyah for
their future projection.  For this
semester, SCP had been conducted in
IIUM Gombak and Pagoh.

Employability Related Programme (ERP) provides a platform for students and
industries in building engagement among them.  Industries need to brand themselves
in campus as a chosen employer while students need to market themselves as
potential employees.  Several ERP were successfully conducted from February 2018
until March 2018 as to provide platform for industries to promote their branding to
students while students can take this opportunity to market themselves to industries.

IIUM PEERS is specially established as a mean to provide non-professional counseling assistance
through students who being undergo basic counseling skills and psychological related skills and
knowledge.
The members will undergo the comprehensive counseling skills, psychometric skills and basic mental
health which to enable members to conduct services accordingly. In brief, the main function is to
support the Counseling & Career Services Centre to promote better well-being among IIUM
