Workshop on Self Empowerment (WOSE):
"Women and Mental Wellbeing"

An annual programme organized by
CCSC with different themes as to align
with the current trends, issues and
challenges faced by the society
particularly to IIUM students. As for
WOSE 1/2019, CCSC highlighted on the
issue of Women and Mental Wellbeing
in conjunction with World Women
International Day 2019. The issue was
highlighted due to the increase number
of women suffered from mental illness
nationwide. Thus, it is essential to
educate the participants on the
importance of mental wellbeing and also
to provide practical knowledge on self-
care for women.

Mental Health Advocator Workshop for
SRC and MRC

The workshop was organized as to empower the role of student leaders as
mental health advocators for IIUM with its objectives to:
i. equip the participants with necessity skills involved when dealing with
mental

health issues
ii. educate the participants on the importance of zero stigma society
iii. empower the role of CCSC in IIUM
iv. strengthen the strategic relationship between CCSC and student bodies

about their future planning

Employability Related Programme (ERP) provides a platform for students and
industries in building engagement among them. Industries need to brand themselves in
campus as a chosen employer while students need to market themselves as potential

One of the CCSC’s initiatives to empower graduate employability is to send
IIUM students to participate in the Career Fair events organized by other
agencies as to expose them on job hunting strategies as well as to provide

Engagement with IBM – IBM Industrial Visit 2019

IBM Malaysia Talent Acquisition Team invited IIUM to
send 5 female students from Bachelor of Information
Technology and Computer Science to participate in
the programme. They invited female only due to the
imbalance ratio of male vs female in the company as
most IT experts are dominated by male. Thus, they
encourage more female graduates to embark career
in IT industry especially in IBM.

The programme is organized to help students to boost up their career aspiration

MAYBANK GO AHEAD CHALLENGE (MGAC)

The MGAC is an annual competition organized by Maybank to test students’
competencies including strategy, behaviour and general knowledge. The
competition will be conducted at selected public and private higher learning
institutions. This event is a platform for Maybank to recruit talented fresh
graduates to be part of the Maybank family as well as to be their future leaders.
There are several levels of MGAC as follows:

11th, 12th & 19th March : Promotion MGAC 2019 (IIUM)
26th April 2019 : MGAC 2018 Campus Level (IIUM)
July 2019 : MGAC 2019 National Level
August 2019 : MGAC 2019 Global Final

Ultimately, Global Finalists will have a chance to participate in the Global
Maybank Apprentice Programme and become Maybank’s employee.

FLY HIGH 1-2019

Fly High programme is a platform for students to prepare themselves before
hunting for their ideal career in competitive job market. The programme has
been conducted since 2016 which the event specifically targeted IIUM graduating
students from all courses. The future graduates received various inputs from
prominent companies, recruiters, government and related agencies as they
shared latest job opportunities, management trainee programmes and
alternatives to be employed. There was a special slot with YB Datuk Wira Dr.
Mohd Hatta Md Ramli (Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development). He
encouraged IIUM graduating students to involve actively in entrepreneurship as it
is the opportunity for employment upon graduating.

IIUM MEGA INTERVIEW DAYS 2019

A programme organized by CCSC as to support future employment of IIUM
students. Students will have the opportunities to meet HR and gain experience on
interview procedures/processes when dealing with interviewers during the
interview session. Employers/companies were invited to campus to interview
graduating students or fresh graduates for full time job opportunities.

Another initiative programme conducted by CCSC to empower graduate
employability of graduating students by providing them with employability related
soft skills such as self-branding and communication skills. At the moment, this
programme is specifically focused on IRK and BAR students.

counselors of UM. The discussion focused on SOP for mental health cases as
UM has developed its own SOP as a guideline for the students.
