cylinder cannot escape (it cannot flow
back through the pump as well as the A Valve
valve is still closed). The piston sits on the
fluid, and the car remains stable. The elevator system sends a signal to the
valve to lower the car. A simple solenoid
switch controls the valve electrically. When
the solenoid opens the valve, the fluid that
has been gathered in the cylinder will flow
out into the fluid tank. The piston that
drives the fluid into the tank is pushed
down by the weight of the car as well as
the load. The car begins to drop gradually.
The control system closes the valve to stop
the automobile at a considerably lower
floor.

SPACE IMPLICATION
Based on the layout of our proposed smart home, the
building consists of 3 floors level. For the ground floor
level, the space of this level is more spacious and
orderly where the installation of the lift is suitable in
terms of space area. The elevator is installed near the
staircase for escape purposes if there is an event of a
fire in a building. Besides, for the first floor and
second floor, the lift is still in the same vertical
direction and the smaller size of lift is to be proposed.
However, the space for the first floor is complicated
than other levels. This is because the usable area likes
the "great room" was in front of the lift. As a result,
the space implications for the first level are limited
for occupants to pass that area.

BUILDING
REGULATIONS
It is significant to provide an efficient and suitable
mechanical handling system such as lift for
development. Therefore, the contractor in charge of the
installation procedure must study the laws and
regulations put in place by the authorities before
beginning with the job. The regulations are strictly
followed to ensure the safety of workers during the
installation of the elevator and to the users without
mishaps or accidents.
According to the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (2010), guidelines on the safe use
of lifts, there are few acts that relatable to the lift installation under Factories and Machinery
(Electric Passenger and Goods Lift) Regulations 1970.
APPLICATION NOTICES

CONCLUSION
AND
RECOMMENDATION
In a nutshell, to ensure that a building is functional, efficient,
comfortable, and safe to use, each system provided in a
building must take in-depth consideration to allow the
building to operate well for a long run of time. Therefore,
several systems have been proposed for this multi-story smart
home, such as a smart smoke detector, smart door lock, Wi-Fi,
smart air-conditioning, and hydraulic lift. Further explanation
of the application, system, installation process, benefits,
problems, functions including the connections and positions,
principles, and systems, as well as space implication, has also
been explained. In addition, all building service systems must
follow the building rules to ensure that they are well-function
and safe to prevent any adverse events that will result in
property damage and injury to occupants.
