About the author

I am creating this book to complete the task 3 of continuous
assessment for Effective Communication in English
(GEEC1052) subject.
The objective of this writing is to create an interest among
pre-school children to learn English Language.

Your journey start here, princess.

There once was a
woman who had two
daughters. Both of
the daughters were
pretty. The older girl
named Lisa was bitter
and bad-tempered,
while the younger
one named Keira was
sweet and kind.

The woman treated the bad-tempered girl very
well, but unfortunately, she was nasty to the
gentle and kind girl. Twice a day, she sent the
younger one into the forest to fetch water at well.

Every time she fetched water, there was an old
woman sitting near the well. As she was always
curious about that woman, she decided to talk
to her. Suddenly, the woman asked Keira,
“Would you please give me a drink of water?”

“Of course,” said Keira. She carefully filled
her pitcher with the coldest and clearest
water from the well. Then she held the
pitcher up while the old woman drank.

“You are very kind and helpful,” Said the old
woman to Keira. “Thus, I want to give you a
gift.” Keira was startled when the old woman
changed to a beautiful lady. The fairy said,
“Now, every word you speak, a flower or a
jewel will come out of your mouth.”

When Keira got home, her mother shouted
at her and asked, “Why are you so late?” “I
am sorry, mother”, Keira answered with a
low voice. The fairy spell came true since
with those words, two roses, a pearl and a
diamond came tumbling out of her mouth.
Her mother was astonished.

Therefore, Keira told her mother the
whole story. As she did, more flowers and
jewels fall from her mouth. The mother
said to Lisa, “I want you to have the same
gift! Go to the well and when an old
woman asks you for a drink, give it to her
politely.”

Soon, a well-dressed
lady walked up.
Actually, it was the
same fairy who met
Keira yesterday. She
asked Lisa for a drink,
but Lisa shouted to
her, “I am not your
servant! Get the
water yourself!”

“You are very rude,”
replied the fairy. “I
shall give you a gift.
From now on, when
you speak, toads and
snakes will come out
of your mouth.

When Lisa got home, her mother asked,
“Well, Lisa my loved, did you meet the fairy?”
“No, mother” Lisa replied shortly and all at
once two toads dropped out of her mouth.
“What is this?” cried the mother. Then she
shouted at Keira, “This is your fault! I am
going to beat you for it!” Keira was
frightened that she ran off into the forest.

Later, a handsome and rich prince saw Keira.
Since she looked scared and sad, the prince
asked her whether she was good or not. As she
explained all things which happened, pretty
flowers and jewels fell out of her mouth.

The prince took her back to the palace. They
were soon married and lived happily ever
after.
