Hundred House Show 2023

show programme

Saturday 2nd September 2023 AT LOWER LLANEON, FRANKSBRIDGE LD1 5SA (BY KIND PERMISSION OF MR STEPHEN WILLIAMS & RICHARD JAMES) ADMISSION: UNDER 16 FREE, OVER £6 Dog & Horse Shows Children's Sports Circus Workshop and Evening Fire Show Stock & Horticultural Exhibits Vintage Display Hundred House Annual Sheep Dog Trials Graig-yr-Onnen Farm, Hundred House, LD1 5SB (Courtesy of Mr & Mrs J Davies & Mr V Powell) Saturday 19th August 2023 Commencing at 8 am

About the Society History The Hundred House & District Improvement Society was formed in the late 19th century with the aim of improving standards of land and animal husbandry. The Show itself has been running since the 1950’s with the Sheep Dog Trials celebrating their 70th Anniversary in 2022. The Hundred House Show has a strong claim to be mid-Wales’ premier Community Agricultural event. 2023 Show Once again we have a full schedule of events for the 2023 show as we build on the success of the 2022 event. For 2023 we have a Circus Workshop during the day with activities for children of all ages from 0 to 99. In the evening we have a Fire Display which will be a spectacular and fitting end to the day. The show would not be possible without the help and support of a willing band of volunteers, too numerous to name individually, each one plays an important part in the success of the event. Committee members who meet regularly to discuss the event including the provision of services and attractions, advertising and marketing, collation and printing of schedules; Schedule and ticket distributors; the many people who come along to set up prior to show day; Section Secretaries and Stewards whose work starts long before the day, selecting suitable competitions and judges; show day co-ordinators who ensure the event itself runs smoothly; gate stewards and car park attendants; the willing band of helpers who come along after the show to pick litter and dismantle the show field into storage in readiness for the next year. A huge thanks to everyone who takes time to support the show in whatever way. Without these volunteers we would not be able to hold such a successful event. Would you like to help? If you would like to get involved in any way please contact our Chair, Gwyn Powell or our show Co-ordinator Tricia Evans. Any help is always welcomed. Meetings As an existing, or prospective Member, you are cordially invited to come along to our regular meetings, generally held on Thursday evenings in Hundred House Village Hall and provisionally scheduled for January (AGM), April , July and September. Contact [email protected] for further information.
