2014-2015Annual
Report
Escuela de Guadalupe
Denver’s Catholic, dual-language school of excellence
660 Julian St. Denver, CO 80204
President’s Letter
Dear Friends,
Greetings from west Denver! The past year will
no doubt go down as one of the most exciting
in Escuela de Guadalupe’s history. In June we
moved to 660 Julian Street and in no time at all,
it has become our home. Most importantly,
this move enables us to expand and serve more
deserving students with a quality education.
David Card
President
As we speak we are conducting admissions visits
for pre-kindergarten and 6th grade – grades
that we will serve for the first time in fall 2016. By fall 2018, our expansion
will be complete and we will serve grades PreK through 8 with up to 220 students.
To support this vision and with the encouragement of our community, we
initiated Escuela de Guadalupe’s first major gifts campaign, Raise Your Hand!
We set an ambitious goal of $4 million and secured $2.2 million by June
30th. With your help, we also raised $1.1 million for our annual fund. It was an
incredible year in so many ways!
The founding vision of this school was that it would be accessible to any
family, and that the economic status of a child would not determine his/
her ability to succeed. This vision is as relevant today as it was in 1999.
The support we receive continues to make possible one simple goal: to
deliver a high quality, faith-formative and culturally relevant education to
deserving children.
You helped us to do this, once again.
As the success of our students continues to provide evidence of the
fulfillment of this vision, it is you we have to thank. Your belief and support
is developing compassionate leaders for the world of tomorrow. We hope
you enjoy our annual report!
Sincerely,
David Card
President
Our Program Highlights

1. Our Annual One Child at A Time Breakfast was the most successful to date! Thanks to the 225 guests in attendance, this hour-long breakfast event raised over
$180,000 for student scholarships. 2. In January the Board of Trustees approved the Raise Your Hand! campaign, which will fund the execution of Escuela’s
expansion vision. The campaign raised over $2.2 million in the first six months! 3. Our 4th Annual Sister Susan Swain Service Day saw our students, parents,
staff, and faculty volunteering their time with eight different community organizations. 4. In April, our 4th and 5th graders presented their bi-annual “Wax
Museum” to Escuela’s friends and families. Each “wax figure” had “buttons” on his/her hands, which visitors could press to receive a mini-lesson (in English or
in Spanish), on whatever leader the student had chosen to portray. 5. In June 2015 we said goodbye to the Highlands neighborhood and the community that has
been so important to our school for the last 16 years. 6. We are thrilled to announce that 90% of Escuela’s class of 2008 graduated from high school last spring,
and are currently enrolled in a college, university, or technical school program! 7. Escuela de Guadalupe moved to a new home in Denver in the summer of 2015.
With nearly twice the facility space, Escuela has embarked on an expansion program that will eventually double the number of students served.

Raise Your Hand! Campaign
RaiseYourHand!
The Campaign for an Expanded Escuela de Guadalupe
In January 2015, Escuela de Guadalupe launched the $4 Million Raise Your Hand!
Campaign to fund the move and scholarships necessary to turn our expansion
vision into a reality. In the first six months of the campaign, 47 generous support-
ers made donations totaling $2,200,000.
Priorities
• Move and Start-Up Capital
To support expansion start-up and the facility enhancements needs of this project.
• Scholarships for Expanded Enrollment
To fund the tuition assistance need of an expanded enrollment, and position the school more
responsibly by putting these funds in place before they are awarded.
• Endowment
To create an endowment equivalent to the school’s annual operating budget, which will
strengthen the school’s financial foundation.
We thank everyone who has already participated in this special initiative, and we invite you to be
part of making dual-language education financially accessible to families in the metro area. For
more information, please contact our Development Director, Michelle Wagner, at (303) 964-0816.
