A Letter from the Owners
Dear Customers,
We were initially cabinet makers by trade. In 1979, while working at
cabinet shops during the day, we built our first 20’ x 20’ tent for a
neighborhood party. When the party was over, a friend needed the
tent and rented it from us. Thus began our rental business.
Today, our company maintains a well-stocked inventory that serves
both residential and commercial clients. We offer a complete line of
rental equipment for weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, and
graduations: events of all sizes . . . both indoors and out.
We purchase, and build, only the highest quality products and strive
to exceed the expectations of our clients. We are fully insured, long-
time members of the American Rental Association, the International
Special Events Society, the National Association of Catering and Events,
and are actively involved in local Chambers of Commerce.

PERMITTING
For tented events, most cities/towns require a permit for any structure over 200 square
feet. Many municipalities now require a 2-3 week lead time to obtain a permit. Events
taking place on State property require a minimum of 3 weeks.
You will receive a Tent Permit Form* with your quote. Should you wish to move forward
with obtaining the permit, please submit your signed form as soon as possible and be sure
to include the following:
❖ Property Owner of Record
❖ Site Street Address, town and Zip Code
❖ Owner Telephone Number
❖ Owner E-mail Address
❖ Event Description and Number of Attendees (We will provide this information.)
❖ A Google Earth diagram indicating where the tent will sit. (We will provide this as
part of performing a site visit.)
❖ A detailed “tent layout” mapping out where the tables and chairs are positioned
along with the number and location of exits. (We will provide this using our CAD
Software.)
❖ Certificate of Liability Insurance Form (Chase will provide.)
❖ Fire Retardant Certificates for our tents (Chase will provide.)
Some municipalities are now requiring a separate fire permit and others are requiring
permits for using gas for propane heating or cooking and electrical permits for using
generators.
Permitting fees are currently charged at a flat rate of $200.00 which, in most cases, is
enough to cover the cost of preparing documentation, correspondence, and visiting
building departments to procure permits. However, some locations may require additional
consideration in allocating fees for building and/or fire permits as they frequently exceed
the $200.00 fee. These include Boston, Chatham, Fairhaven, Fall River, Marion,
Mattapoisett, Newport, Providence and Wareham.

CAD DESIGNS
One of the ways to determine tent size, seating arrangements, and overall placement of
equipment is through the use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD). CAD is a powerful tool we use
to aid in the planning process. The pictures below are examples of weddings. These drawings are
helpful in envisioning your rented equipment and tent in place without having to wait until the
big day.

TENT WASHING & REPAIRS
We provide washing or drying, starting as low as .27¢ per square foot for tents under
1,000 square feet. Between 1,000 and 2,000 square feet, the charge is .32¢ per square foot,
and for tents over 2,000 square feet, the charge is .37¢ per square foot.
We also specialize in cleaning services for vinyl and canvas awning and tents; sails of all
types; Moonwalk/Bounce rides; drop cloths & tarps; and large or small industrial fabrics.
Additionally, we offer non-structural repairs to your fabrics inventory to keep them in top
shape. We have a dedicated area and personnel to evaluate and repair holes, rips, tears,
gashes, and etc. on any tent, sidewall, or inflatable object. Please call for more details or

Staking-Down Is Not Possible
Important Information about Renting:
Chase canopy does not allow for the sharing of tents and other rental items among multiple
clients; each event is a separate function and is billed as such.
The Customer is responsible for alerting Chase Canopy to any underground hazards which may
be affected when staking tents. Chase will contact DigSafe if the client requests it or if Chase feels
it is necessary. Chase Canopy is not responsible for any damage caused to any underground
utilities, structures or other hazards.
We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve rental equipment for events within 90 days.
Events 90 days or more out require a 33% non-refundable deposit. Net-30 Accounts which
become delinquent will be billed at 1.5% interest per month.
All prices are based upon tailgate delivery. If there are circumstances affecting delivery, i.e., 2nd
floor, beach, excessive stairs, and etc., prior notice should be given and additional delivery
charges may apply.
Delivery windows, as with most companies/services, are in 4-hour increments. Specific delivery
times are available upon request; however, these will be subject to increased delivery rates.
Grills, griddles and ovens should be returned in the same condition in which they were rented;
additional necessary cleaning will result in a $35.00 fee.
Customers are responsible for damaged, broken or missing items and these will be billed to the
customer at current retail replacement prices.
If the customer is not present during delivery, Chase Canopy will not be held responsible for any
uncounted items. If the customer notices problems, immediately notifying Chase Canopy is the
best practice. We are available to assist with any issues and can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week at 1-800-649-2055.
Specialty linens require a full deposit when the rental is confirmed.

You can estimate needing approximately 100 square feet for every 10 guests for seating only.
Additional bars, buffet tables and increased size of dance floor will increase the tent size
exponentially. Bands will advise you how much space they need for staging and this may increase
tent size as well.
