Modern Tales
I think people make their
own faces, as they grow.
- Enid Blyton
As we snuggle into our childhood beds, the mattress a bit small, and our toes hanging off
the edge, the tiny bookshelf in front of us, with all of our childhood books lined up with its
pages yellowing, reminds us of an old time. As we drift off to a blissful sleep, we think of
classical characters in modern settings. The juxtaposition of classic tales by the Grimm
brothers and C.S. Lewis in millennial sensibilities provides an interesting comic relief.
