ACHIEVEMENT OF 2022/2023


WEBINAR: FINANCIAL PLANNING AWARENESS Through Financial Planning Awareness Program, students had gained a deeper knowledge and understanding of the important factors that need to be considered in their financial planning. In addition, the students also had the opportunity to pose their questions and opinions to the speaker so that participants are more confident with their financial goals. Advice and useful comments from the speaker had definitely helped the students increase self-motivation for continuous improvement for the good of the future. WEBINAR: FINANCIAL FREEDOM The main purpose of organizing this webinar is to help those who want to know how can become a financial freedom person. Through this talk, the students can gain more knowledge on how to manage cash flow, debt management, and information about how to earn side income. Furthermore, this program will share the knowledge and tips to gain wealth through several safe ways to reach financial freedom. Besides, the talk also discusses the financial default risk and the importance of maintaining a healthy financial position. Date :15 January 2022 Participants: 162 people attended, including USM students and lecturers 2022 ASAS@USM 2022/2023


WEBINAR: PERANCANGAN PERSARAAN DAN PEWARISAN Private Retirement Schemes (PRS) act as long-term voluntary savings which are designed to help individuals to accumulate their savings for retirement. Besides, PPA holds few significant roles in supporting the infrastructure of the PRS industry. The talk also provides the information and knowledge in Estate Planning, and further develop skills on Estate Planning. Besides, the talk will discuss the methods of distribution between Muslim or non-muslim in Estate Planning as well. WEBINAR: INVESTMENT: RISK & PROTECTION Majority of individuals are unaware of the significance of knowledge on risks before investing. Indeed, not everyone can invest, but for those who earn more and have a monthly income balance or the privilege of not having to take out a loan, investing is a wise choice. So, one of the impacts of this programme is students get to learn how to distinguish between saving and investing. It is necessary for everyone, not just students, to know that saving is the safest option. A key investment approach is to get started earlier and remain consistent. Date : 8 January 2022 Participants: 218 people attended, including USM students and lecturers 2022 ASAS@USM 2022/2023


WEBINAR: KELDAI (MULE ) ACCOUNT: WHAT SHOULD WE NEED TO KNOW? In recent years, various financial scams have occurred, and mule account is one of the common financial scams among the students as students are captivated by attractive job packages without being aware of the criminal activity in the background. The purpose of this webinar is to inform students about the hazards of mule accounts and other financial scams and share information regarding the financial scams. The speakers explained the mechanism of the mule accounts and shared other types of scams that are interrelated with the mule accounts. Ways to prevent financial scams are shared as university students are at a high risk of becoming a victim despite their high educational level. During the session or event, the participants are given the opportunity to explore and interact with a digital platform or tool called the "MyBijakNiaga Kit Portal." This platform is likely designed to provide resources, tools, or educational materials related to business and financial acumen. The speaker, who is conducting the event, has made this portal available to the participants for hands-on learning and practical experience. Date : 5 Oktober 2022 Participants: 67 students were involved and 3 representatives from the Agensi kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK), Kuala Lumpur. EXPLORACE : RACING FOR CENTS Explorace Project: Racing For Cents has had an impact on the participants to believe in each other within their team members so that they can successfully complete missions at each checkpoint. As for the facilitators, it enables them to strengthen their relationships with each other and understand the responsibilities and trust they need to shoulder to facilitate the project. In addition, students are also able to enhance financial literacy through activities exploring knowledge related to financial management. ASAS@USM 2022/2023 2022


Date : : 14 November 2022 Participants: 113 USM participants who have been involved "The participants gain experience and knowledge about business financial management methods, and they also can master the use of the MyBijakNiaga application. Date : 17 June 2023 Participants: 375 people attended, including USM students and the general public. ASAS@USM 2022/2023 2023 FINANCIAL PLANNING WORKSHOP: MY MONEY & ME “PLAN YOUR MONEY, PLANT YOUR FUTURE” The event prompted participants to recognize the weighty significance and vital importance of financial literacy, enlightening them on practical ways to seamlessly incorporate it into their daily routines. By providing insights into various tools and approaches, the program empowered attendees with essential technical skills in financial planning management, enabling them to navigate this complex realm with confidence


ASAS@USM 2022/2023 2023 MAKE SMART FINANCIAL CHOICES ! The participants involved gained exposure to future financial management, and students can apply it in their lives. Additionally, participants can learn about the value of money in our lives. Furthermore, this program also provides participants with insights into savings techniques and expenditure categories. Therefore, this program can provide early awareness of the importance of financial planning in life. Date : 8 May 2023 Participant : 154 Students


ASAS@USM 2023 MY MONEY, MY LIFE, MY FUTURE Date : 11 May 2023 Participant : 216 Students The participants involved received exposure to future financial management and can apply it in their lives. Furthermore, this program also provides participants with exposure to methods of saving and management in expenses and expenditure categories. In conclusion, this program can offer early awareness of the importance of creating financial plans in their lives. 2022/2023


The talk highlighted the rising instances of financial scams and their harmful consequences. It covered various types of fraud, their causes, and their impact on individuals and students. The discussion emphasized the need for increased awareness, ethics, teamwork, technology, and education to combat fraud. Participants had the chance to engage with the speaker and share their thoughts. The program received positive feedback from both the speaker and attendees. ASAS@USM 2022/2023 2023 THE GREAT PRETENDERS: HOW FINANCIAL SCAMMERS TARGET THE VULNERABLE Date: 7th May 2023 Participant : The number of participants who attended the webinar talk is 360 participants.


ASAS@USM 2022/2023 2023 RISK PROTECTION AND INSURANCE Date: 10th June 2023 Participant : 316 students The Risk Protection Webinar, featuring Mr. Charles Tan, a renowned financial risk management expert, was an insightful event for University Sains Malaysia students. It highlighted the significance of risk protection in financial planning, covering various financial risks like credit, liquidity, operational, and market risks. Mr. Tan's presentation emphasized the role of insurance as a robust tool for managing risks and provided practical examples. Attendees gained valuable skills to integrate risk mitigation into financial planning, ensuring enhanced security. The interactive session allowed participants to seek advice and learn from speakers' success stories, fostering inspiration for their career and financial pursuits.


The program's effectiveness and its alignment with participants' expectations. The feedback highlighted the program's helpfulness, indicating its success in providing valuable insights on the "Navigating the Future of Finance in Malaysia: An Exploration of Fintech" topic presented by Dr. Azrie Tamjis. This accomplishment reflects the program's achievement in raising awareness about fintech's potential to transform the Malaysian finance industry, along with its associated risks, opportunities, and strategic implications. ASAS@USM 2022/2023 2023 NAVIGATING THE FUTURE OF FINANCE IN MALAYSIA: AN EXPLORATION OF FINTECH Date: 9th June 2023 Participant : 314 students


ASAS@USM 2022/2023 2023 PLAN TODAY, RETIRE YOUR WAY! Date: 21th June 2023 Participant : 450 students “Plan Today, Retire Your Way!” is an informative talk that given by Adjunct Professor Dr Desmond Chong Kok Fei which has initiated our participants the importance of having financial retirement plan for their retired life. Our team hopes that through this event, our participants will try to build a good and complete financial retired plan for themselves to counter various problems they will face in the future after they retired from work. A well-planned financial retired plan will help them to solve financial problems, housing problems, and others when they lose their main income after retiring from work, meanwhile acheiving their life goals.


This event aims to express our sincere gratitude to our esteemed members and collaborators who have contributed to the success of ASAS@USM. We believe it is crucial to acknowledge and appreciate the dedication and support that has made our initiatives thrive. Date: 4-6 August 2023 (Physical) & 8-11 August 2023 (Online) Participant : 80 students ASAS@USM 2022/2023 2023 HOW TO BECOME A WEB ENTREPRENUER The program offers a well-designed curriculum that covers a wide range of essential topics for aspiring web entrepreneurs and the key strength of the program is its strong emphasis on practical, hands-on learning. Students have the opportunity to create their websites, improving teamwork and project management skills. Moreover, being a part of the program means joining a vibrant community of likeminded students who share the same passion. Collaborative projects, group discussions, and peer feedback sessions enable meaningful interactions and learning from both instructors and peers. Lastly, Colla-Team organizes networking events and workshops with industry professionals, helping students establish connections and gain insights into the evolving field of web development
