To celebrate the festival of forest and spread the
message of forest conservation, we organised an
educational field trip to the National Botanical
Research Institute (N.B.R.I.) for the students of
class VIII in two batches on 7th and 8th of July,
2022.
The visit to this beautiful garden was a feast to the
eye. The children were very excited to see the
colourful bougainvillaea house. They got the
opportunity to walk through the Conservatory that
made them aware about the conservation of
threatened plants. They also went to the
Greenhouse, Cactus House, Jurassic Garden and
Bonsai house. They were excited to see several
species of huge trees in their bonsai forms.
They were thrilled to see peacocks, sitting under a
200 years old banyan tree.
They could also recapitulate the types of plants
i.e. herbs, shrubs, climbers and creepers, types of
leaves and venation during the visit to the garden.
Underground water awareness week was celebrated from
16th of July to 22nd of July, 2022. Sapna Foundation has
taken up this awareness program. 51 students from our
campus participated on 20th of July, 2022 in this awareness
program. Students were taken to Vidhan Sabha Road and a
human chain was formed. Students displayed their active
participation by speaking slogans for the conservation of
underground water. They marched enthusiastically from
Vidhan Sabha Road till Parivartan Chowk.

Children are naturally creative on their own accord and
to foster their creativity a poster making competition
was conducted, on the theme 'Save Groundwater',
wherein students participated enthusiastically and
submitted their entries. They expressed themselves in
unique ways. It was noticed that children think
differently and see problems through a different lens.
This activity allowed them to expand their minds and
help them learn more than just ordinary subjects - such
as science, maths etc. through observation and visual
learning! It gave their mind an opportunity to create,
imagine and form various things out of the ordinary.

were made aware of the harmful effect of the
plastic bags on the environment. The students
participated in this event with full zeal and
enthusiasm. The little ones made newspaper
bags in different designs with biodegradable
materials. The slogan ‘Save Trees' was
encouraged as a message on these bags.

Guru Purnima is celebrated annually on the
full moon day in the month of Ashadha. As per
the Hindu customs, this day is observed to
honour the spiritual gurus or teachers for
guiding us.
The origins of Guru Purnima can be found in
the Vedic period. The word itself has Sanskrit
roots. The event is observed by Hindus, Jains,
and Buddhists as a way to show gratitude
toward the gurus. On Guru Purnima, we
celebrate the special bond between students
and teachers. In today’s time, teachers have
the greatest influence on students’ lives.
The school conducted a special assembly to

"In nothing do men more nearly approach the god than
in giving health to men." Marcus Tullius Cicero.
It was with this noble thought that the National Doctor's
Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm to honour and
thank those who can rightly be called Heroes. Though it
was the first day of the school after the summer
vacation, it was a delight to see the enthusiastic
participation of students in celebrating this day. The
students made beautiful cards to thank the doctors,
then, two teams of five students each accompanied by
two teachers set out to the different areas of Indira
Nagar. These teams visited the clinics and hospitals to
wish the doctors by presenting them with the cards and
flowers by the students. The doctors were amazed at the
gesture of the students and the efforts made by the
institution. They appreciated the education being
provided at CMS. Dr. Tahir Zaidi distributed toffees and
juices to the students as a token of gratitude.
Ms. Smriti Raj, a famous writer and
environmentalist was invited to apprise the
students on the importance of soil and the ways to
maintain its fertility. Ms. Smriti is also associated
with Sadhguru and his save the soil movement.
‘Save Soil’ is the need of the hour. At the level of
children, they can't do much about it other than
being conscious about it and using the given
resources in a prudent way. From not wasting paper
to recycling textbooks to efficient uses of
stationary they were told how they can play their
small part. Ms. Smriti has also shared a detailed
report about her visit to the campus on her
Facebook page.
In a world of over-stimulating technology, arts and
crafts help us to slow down, work through a task step-
by-step, and reach a goal—all while exploring our
creativity. A paper craft activity to ignite the
imagination of our little artisans was conducted for the
students of class 4 on the 23rd of July. Students
participated enthusiastically. They learnt to draw, tear,
glue, and paint, along with several other exercises that
promote dexterity. They made colourful paper flowers,
book marks and butterflies along with learning to work
through a step-by-step proc ess to complete a task from
beginning to end. The final outcome of the activity
sparked joy amongst the learners.

Best out of Waste activity was taken up
enthusiastically by the students and they came up
with wonderful ideas. Many things were made
through old newspapers, ice cream sticks, plastic
bottles, glass bottles, discarded spoons, bangles
etc. The young learners made jewellery boxes,
pen stands, flower vases, decorative items, wall
hangings, magazine holders etc. In the senior
classes students even made water dispensers,
torches, hanging planters and water heaters. The
activity was conducted in the zero period and
students enjoyed the activity thoroughly. They
followed the 6Cs, learnt about waste management
as well as SDG 11- Sustainable Cities and

Visit to Umeed- NGO was a marvellous experience as it
was filled with emotions and sentiments. Their Vision is
that every citizen should work for each citizen. We were
lucky to get an opportunity to visit a NGO named Umeed
on August 3, 2022, accompanied by 3 teachers and 6
students. There were 41 students.
We had with us eatables like chips, chocolates etc,
stationary sets and raw food materials like pulses, rice
and more. Raw food materials were handed over to the
organisation and other eatables we distributed amongst
children. Children were involved in learning different
activities like learning songs, learning different sports.
We segregated ourselves to talk individually to
everyone.
The visit to the NGO was a fulfilling experience for us
as we came back to the school with not only memories
but also some valuable lessons of life.

They learnt to be patient and attentive. Children are
picky eaters, this activity brought them closer to the
kitchen and opened them up to new foods and flavors.
From spreading the cheese using a butter knife,
choosing the ingredients for the dressing, to sprinkling
love in the form of toppings, students developed a
sense of choice along with gaining new science,
language and math skills such as "how many slices of
cucumber and tomato do we need?” and sequencing
skills “What is first … next … last?”. It was an
opportunity for them to gain a sense of
accomplishment. From following a recipe and learning
how to safely handle kitchen equipment to cleaning up
spills and putting things away provided ample
opportunity for children to learn responsibility. Sitting
down with friends and sharing a meal that they
prepared together gave them a great way to develop
social skills like sharing, talking and listening.
Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of
the most powerful and famous reincarnations of
Lord Vishnu, was celebrated with full vigor and
great pomp by the kiddiwinks of class IV. The
audience was bewitched by the mesmerizing dance
performance of the girls dressed as gopis. The
incarnation of Lord Vishnu as Krishna to do away
with all the injustice during the olden times was
related to the the present day scenario where we
are now taking up SDG 16; wherein we are putting
efforts towards strengthening and empowering
our institutions in order to propagate peace,
justice and securing sustainable and safe growth of
the civilization.
