It will then be a short drive north to the Elegant Farmstead, a wonderfully relaxing staging post between the capital and the vast expanse of the Etosha National Park. ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK – 2 Nights The journey up to Etosha heightens the anticipation for the wildlife-viewing adventure on its way. Your lodge, Etosha Village, is found just outside the park and is the ideal spot for self-drive safaris, whilst their in-house guides also offer organised morning and afternoon safaris for those wanting to keep their eyes peeled for animals instead of on the road. DAMARALAND – 2 Nights After Etosha you will head west, on to the dramatic landscape of northern Damaraland, where you will be staying in Grootberg Lodge. Here you can enjoy breathtaking views, track black rhinos on foot and head out with a guide to try and find the fascinating desert lions who call this area home.
3 DAMARALAND – 2 Nights The drive through to the southern part of Damaraland, better known as Twyfelfontein, is amongst the most incredible in all of Namibia, with towering red kopjes rising out of the endless desert plains. Your destination is Camp Kipwe, nestled at the foot of one of these kopjes and ideally located for visiting the region’s famous petroglyphs and geological features as well as trying to find the desert elephants which roam around the area. SWAKOPMUND – 2 Nights The cool coastal breezes and Germanic charm of Swakopmund will provide a stark contrast from the dry dusty deserts. Your base will be the charming Cornerstone Guesthouse, perfect for accessing the town’s excellent restaurants and bars, as well as for getting out and experiencing the varied activities for which this area is so well-known. SOSSUSVLEI – 2 Nights En route to Sossusvlei you should stop at the bakery in the outpost of Solitaire - renowned for its apple cake and a great excuse to break up the drive. From your base at Kulala Desert Lodge you will be able to take a morning trip to the towering red dunes of Sossusvlei, visit the Sesriem Canyon and explore the beautiful nature reserve on which the lodge is found. WINDHOEK – 1 Nights After your time at Sossusvlei you will drive back to Windhoek and head to the Olive Grove Guesthouse, where you will be spending your final night in Namibia. Your rental car will be collected in the afternoon to allow you to relax before the transfer back to the airport the following morning.
